Villain Saving System (BL) -
Chapter 136 - 4.1 Admin God
Chapter 136: 4.1 Admin God
Hello, everyone! Welcome to Arc 4! Let me tell you a few important things to let you understand this world better. I won’t create cultivation stages like Core Formation and Nascent Soul etc. In this arc, assume that every main characters have already formed a golden core (yes I took many references from mdzs *wink*) and even though the world will have non-cultivators civilian, our characters are all cultivators
Arc 4: I’d Take The Poison If It’s From You
"If it’s Heavenly Law that takes you away from me, then I will tear Heavenly Law apart."

Lu Yizhou wasn’t sure whether his request would be fulfilled but he had nothing to lose anyway. So he took the gamble.
666’s soul almost flew out of its nonexistent body. W—Why would Host want to meet Admin God?! For a second, 666’s short life flashed right in front of its eyes. It recalled the moment when it had bad mouthed and complained about Admin God’s coldheartedness and cruelty and oh, 666 was going to be killed if Admin God found out about it!
[666: A—Are you sure, Host? Truth to be told, Admin God is very, veryyy terrifying! His skin is green and he has horns atop of his head! Very scary! Not suitable for a meeting!]
Lu Yizhou rolled his eyes. "I also have horns in the previous world, thank you." Frankly speaking, he guessed that it was only nervous that its incompetence would be brought into light in the middle of the talk — seriously, who did it think Lu Yizhou was? A tattletale? — when the mere thought didn’t even pass his mind. Lu Yizhou had a faint idea of what this Admin God’s role was in the simulator and if Lu Yizhou was right, then 666’s... unique traits might not be completely concealed from him.
[666: Moreover, Admin God might not even want to meet you, Host!]
"Tell him." Lu Yizhou demanded firmly. "Send my message. Now."
Withered, 666 had no choice but to do what its Host said. And to the system’s horror, Admin God actually agreed in a beat!
Thus, five minutes later, Lu Yizhou was seated on the floor by his bed when a light appeared in front of him. At first, it was just like a faint glowing smoke that swirled in an abstract pattern but gradually, a rectangle formed in midair and through the opaque screen, a bespectacled man who looked like he had just eaten shit appeared. His hair was in disarray, strands of it escaping through his ponytail, heavy bluish circle under his eyes, and the gaze he directed toward Lu Yizhou was plainly bitter and accusing as if Lu Yizhou had just massacred his entire family. He certainly looked very much humane, not the kind that 666 said before.
"Patient 666, Lu Yizhou" he said, almost in a hiss. "It’s nice to finally meet you."
"Admin God," Lu Yizhou greeted back, ignoring the heavy sarcasm that was dripping from the other’s tone. Lu Yizhou didn’t understand. Had they met before? Or was he someone who harbored a grudge toward him? But Lu Yizhou was positive that the people who had seen his face hadn’t lived long enough to see the light of the day so there was no way that someone would recognize him. Even more so if it’s someone who held a position in the government. Lu Yizhou spent some time scrutinizing the man in front of him and was sure that he hadn’t seen this man before. He looked young, at least younger than thirty yet the deep lines on his forehead seemed to be etched permanently on his scowling face. "I have been hearing a lot about you."
Startled, 666 whispered in Lu Yizhou’s mind. [Hostttt, don’t speak nonsense! As of this second, you haven’t heard about Admin God from 666, okay?! Not even one bit! Please, 666 begs you... QAQ]
"Oh?" Admin God raised a brow and the corner of his lips tilted into a mirthless smile. "That’s... very reassuring to know. I hope that you only heard good things about me."
[666: Aaaaah, 666 is going to die! 666 is definitely going to die!!!]
Of course, 666’s cries fell into deaf ears. Lu Yizhou’s mind drifted to the simulator, Ren Zexi’s anguished cries when he left the first world, the blood that gurgled out of Theodore’s chest, Oliver’s pale face and the soft smile on his lips during the last moment of his death. His face turned grim and he directly got to the point, the blood beneath his veins boiling and it was solely with sheer willpower that he could be level headed enough to make a conversation. "I assume that you’re the creator of the simulator. What’s your goal? Can you really ignite someone’s will to live through this?"
The underlying meaning in his sentence was: Are you sure you’re not a scam?
Admin God let out a brief chuckle and blew the bangs away from his forehead. "If I have to explain everything from the beginning, it’s going to be very long and I am sorry to say that I don’t have that much time in my hands. In short, yes, I am the head of the R&D Department of this project. Our goal is simple, and that is to reduce the number of suicide cases in the country. And once again, yes, we can achieve our goal through his simulator and I have the data throughout the years to support this claim."
Silence hung between them. Lu Yizhou kept mum and let the other man mulled over his thoughts.
Admin God continued, thoughtfully. "Do you know the majority of reason why someone commit suicide?"
That was a funny question to be asked to someone who committed suicide simply because he was tired. Too tired of everything and simply wanted to rest, that’s all. But what came out of Lu Yizhou’s mouth was simply, "I am not sure."
"Despair, sorrow, impulsivity...." Admin God recounted. His eyes glazed over as if he was mourning for something — or someone. "The bleakness of reality, the inability to escape from their current situation, the belief that they would be in a better place once they die. Simply said, hopelessness; because life isn’t going like the way they want to be. Through this simulator, we are giving them a chance to take control of fate, to know the trajectory of life, to change someone’s life for the better. Sometimes, giving can be more healing than taking. The more you give, the more you patch yourself up. Do you understand, Lu Yizhou? What the simulator offers them is hope. To let them learn that as long as they don’t give up, everything will turn for the better."
Lu Yizhou thought that he wouldn’t understand but actually he did.
He rescued Ren Zexi out of that hell hole and gave him a home, an assurance that he wouldn’t live with fear of being beaten or an empty stomach; in exchange, he witnessed that frightened child grow up to be a dashing teenager.
He shielded Theodore from the fate of being a slave, a plaything to the mercenary; to die with vengeance and hatred in his heart; in exchange, he watched as the spoiled young master mature and become a wise and famous merchant.
He saved Oliver from the despair of being abandoned, of being betrayed by those whom he trusted and in exchange, he saw the low-esteemed prince blossomed until he could finally stand up for himself confidently.
The overwhelming sense of satisfaction he got, the contentment that he managed to rescue them...
The more you gave, the more you patched yourself up.
Lu Yizhou lowered his eyes and fell into thoughts.
Indeed, part of what Admin God said was correct, he admitted. But what about the aftermath? After the willmeter was filled, those in the simulator would wake up to the reality that they dreaded. What if everything didn’t change? Or worse, what if it backfired? Because for Lu Yizhou, everything was like a beautiful dream, one that he would wake up from sooner or later. Wouldn’t it be cruel to lift someone up to high Heaven only to let them crash back down to Hell?
As if sensing the direction of Lu Yizhou’s thoughts, Admin God added, "Of course, we also have an after service program to ensure that those who have gone through the simulator will be able to live a peaceful life upon waking up. The government has promised to grant you all one wish... a house, a new job, money, everything, as long as it’s within reason. We don’t save every Tom, Dick and Harry, you know. We have the filter to choose who is qualified to join the simulator."
"Haa..." Lu Yizhou couldn’t help but sneer. Qualified? So he was qualified? To be saved? That was kinda... ridiculous. "Fine, I accept your answer for now. But what about him?"
"Him?"
"The villain in the worlds I have transmigrated into. Ren Zexi, Theodore and Oliver." Lu Yizhou shot him a sharp look. "They are all the same person, aren’t they?"
There were a few beats of pause then Admin God’s brows furrowed. He slowly said, "...I am afraid I don’t understand what you’re talking about."
Lu Yizhou let out a mocking huff. His nails dug sharply into his palms, yet none of the pain registered in his mind right at the moment. "You do."
"No, I don’t." The other man retorted, this time firmer. "It seems like there’s some kind of misunderstanding here. There is only one transmigrator in every world, everybody else are characters that’s generated by the system. They are not real."
They weren’t real, Lu Yizhou had heard it countless times before, both when 666 reminded him and when he had to remind himself not to fall too deep, not to let himself be carried away by emotions that he couldn’t control. But he had had enough of that, for fuck’s sake. He wasn’t stupid. There’s no evidence to support his claim, yet he knew. Somehow, he could recognize them even with his eyes closed.
Lu Yizhou narrowed his eyes sharply. For a while, both of them were engaged in a staring contest, none intended to back down. This man... he was good. Throughout his life, few were able to meet Lu Yizhou’s eyes head on. They were scared, both of him and the promise of hell he would bring. But Admin God actually stood his ground, staring back in a boring look as if challenging him to look away.
Unfortunately, the more he acted like that, the more suspicious Lu Yizhou became.
...He was hiding something and he wasn’t willing to disclose it to Lu Yizhou. Yet.
Well, there was only one way to find out about it. Lu Yizhou was the one to break eye contact. Surrender to win, that had been one of his beliefs. He would spare the man some slack first. "Fine." He spat out. "My apologies for taking up your precious time, Admin God. I hope that your day is well."
Admin God let out a huge sigh, his shoulders slumped down almost in relief. "Like you haven’t given me enough headache." Then he promptly clamped his jaws shut as if he had said too much. Lu Yizhou took in every miniscule change in his face, filing it in his mind for later use. "Good luck, Patient 666, for your future endeavors." After throwing that one sentence, the floating screen vanished with a soundless poof.
[666: Siiiigh, finally it’s over! 666 swears, it is one of the most nerve-wracking moments in 666’s life! Fortunately 666 can still be alive after this!]
Lu Yizhou stood up and patted the nonexistent dust away from his clothes. "Let’s go. To the next world."
[666: Aye, Host! Here we go!]
