Chapter 190: Beach..

His tone was smooth—almost sinful—sending a shiver down Lilia’s spine. Her cheeks flushed as she bit her bottom lip, caught between disbelief and shock.

"You’re unbelievable," she whispered, though her heart swelled at the thought.

Lilia shook her head again, still in disbelief, then spoke quietly, "I can’t believe you actually booked all this just because of..." She paused, shaking her head once more. "Who knew that..." At this point, she was deeply at a loss for words.

She knew very well how expensive it was to even book a beach—talk less of booking everything around it. Then she added with a soft giggle, "It seems you really don’t know what to use money for."

Zethan moved to her and held her hands, a smirk on his face. "Of course I do. I know exactly what to use money for. The reason I have money is to spend it all on my wife."

Lilia nodded, puffing her cheeks in agreement. "Of course. True." Then she added playfully, "And I realized I don’t have a beautiful bag for work, so I’ll be needing something expensive and extravagant." She acted like a boss, flipping her hair.

Zethan chuckled. "Then a bag it is."

She laughed softly. "I’m kidding. The bag I have will do just fine," she said quietly.

Zethan simply nodded, though in the back of his mind, he already knew what he was going to do.

Then Lilia gently tugged him. "Come, let’s go check out our room."

Zethan nodded and walked beside her, finally leading her toward a cottage-like place. The sand beneath their feet was soft and white, guiding them along a path bordered by flowerbeds, garden plants, and colorful pots. It was both beautiful and charming.

Lilia’s lips parted in amazement. She could hardly keep her mouth closed as she admired the view.

They climbed a few short steps and reached a perfectly polished wooden door. Zethan reached into his back pocket and pulled out a key. He unlocked it smoothly, and as the door swung open—

Lilia’s mouth opened and closed again in awe.

This was a perfect beach house.

It was every woman’s dream beach house—and here she was, standing right in it.

Her lips curled into a soft, sweet smile as she turned to Zethan and spoke gently, "This is beautiful."

"Not as beautiful as you," Zethan whispered with a grin that Lilia didn’t even catch—too taken in by the house.

Inside, everything was connected in an open-concept style. The bathroom was beautifully decorated, with a sleek, see-through glass wall. At the far end sat a massive king-sized bed. To the other side, a modern kitchen blended into a cozy dining area, and a small sitting room rested in the corner. In the center of the room was a space that looked like a mini art studio.

Lilia turned to Zethan, raising a brow.

He shrugged playfully. "You might want to paint your husband one of these days, don’t you think? After all, we’re on vacation—we should enjoy ourselves perfectly."

As he said that, he winked.

Lilia chuckled and walked over to the wardrobe, curiosity sparking. They hadn’t come with any luggage, so she was intrigued.

When she opened it, her eyes widened slightly.

Cute bikinis, flowy summer gowns, sundresses, and adorable caps were neatly arranged. To the side, shirts—mostly beach-themed, colorful, and floral—were paired with matching shorts. She could already picture Zethan in them.

He looked so different from his usual serious, professional self. This version of him looked simple, relaxed... happy.

Zethan moved closer and teased, "What’s making my wife smile like that? Is it me?"

He leaned in and pressed a kiss to her cheek.

Lilia smirked. "Oh, my possessive husband. Who said I’m smiling because of you?"

He replied with a cheeky grin, "Isn’t it obvious? I’m the only one who makes you smile like this."

Lilia laughed softly, then asked, "So... what are we having for dinner?"

"I’ll be cooking," Zethan said confidently.

Lilia gave him a look. "Oh no. Not after what happened last time. I’ll be joining you," she said firmly and walked over to the fridge.

Opening it, she wasn’t surprised to find it fully stocked. Vegetables, chicken, fruits, snacks, and—most notably—lots and lots of chocolate.

She turned to Zethan and asked, "Is this your doing?"

He nodded casually. "Of course. What can I say?"

On the other side, ice creams, cookies, and various sweets lined the shelves.

Lilia smiled wide and shook her head. "Zethan, love... at least be a little strict. You know all these have way too many calories."

Zethan stepped closer and replied softly, "I don’t mind. As long as my wife loves it, then what’s a few calories?"

Lilia couldn’t help but laugh, her heart warmed.

"Fine," she said at last. "Let’s cook something for dinner."

Zethan quietly slid his hands around her waist as he leaned in, his voice low and teasing.

"So... what are we cooking today, sweetheart?"

Lilia turned to him and gave him a sharp, knowing look.

"You have to behave," she said calmly. "If you behave well all through our cooking, I’ll reward you."

Zethan narrowed his eyes slightly, his lips twitching into a smirk as he tilted his head, acting as if he had no idea what his wife was talking about.

"What does that mean, my wife?"

Lilia shook her head, smiling as pink deepened across her cheeks.

"You know exactly what that means, my husband. You can’t seem to keep your hands in one place. So all I want is for you to focus on the meal—and be a good boy."

Zethan’s body went still. His jaw tightened slightly before he leaned closer, his voice husky and full of meaning.

"So if I’m a good boy, I’ll get rewarded... right?"

Lilia nodded, holding his gaze.

Why does he make that sound so sinful?

Her heart fluttered. This man had a way of twisting even the most innocent words into something that made her entire body warm. Her cheeks flushed deeper as she turned away quickly, walking past him toward the fridge.

She needed something to focus on—anything other than the heat crawling up her neck.

Then she spoke softly, her voice low and almost shy.

"We’ll be making the stewed macaroni."

Zethan nodded and moved toward the counter, picking up some tomatoes and a few other ingredients. As she turned, she noticed Zethan.

Surprisingly, he was calm.

Lilia pressed her lips together. He really wants this reward...

Her face burned at the thought, and she quickly cleared her throat.

"The macaroni—check the cupboard for it."

Zethan gave a small nod and walked over. He rolled up his sleeves, revealing the strong, sculpted muscles of his forearms.

Lilia’s heart skipped a beat.

Whoa.

She inhaled slowly, as if steady breathing would somehow calm the storm inside her chest. But it wasn’t working.

She came here to cook, and yet—

It felt like she was the one getting cooked.

Why were such thoughts coming to her head now, of all times?

She tried to shake it off as Zethan moved, pulling out the macaroni and gently placing it on the center counter.

"Please bring out the pot, rinse it, and put the macaroni inside," she said softly.

"As you say, my wife."

Zethan nodded and followed her instructions. While he rinsed the pot, she gathered the tomatoes and beverages into a bowl and began to wash them.

Then, in a low voice, Zethan spoke, "I’m so glad my wife is a good cook. A perfect lady."

Lilia shook her head, turning slightly toward him with a small smile.

"No, I’m not perfect, my husband. You are the perfect one here... or maybe I’m getting there now, as I am a vampire."

Zethan chuckled under his breath. "It seems my wife is really enjoying her new abilities."

"I can’t wait for the three months to pass," Lilia said with a soft hum. "So I’ll finally become a full immortal."

Zethan let out another soft chuckle, his voice gentle. "Oh, my wife... this is why I love you. Because you’re beautiful, smart, incredibly capable in every way—and above all, a loving wife."

Lilia’s heart warmed. She looked at him and whispered, "Zethan... do you want me to cry again?" Her tone was light, but her eyes shimmered. She wasn’t joking. It really did touch her.

She giggled, and Zethan chuckled with her as he poured the macaroni into the now-rinsed pot. Lilia turned her focus back to chopping the tomatoes. Once done, she instructed gently, "Put a medium quantity of water into the macaroni."

Zethan brought the pot to her. She glanced at the level and said softly, "Add just a little more."

He nodded, a slow smile on his lips, and added just a bit more.

Who knew cooking could feel this... intimate?

Definitely not her—or him.

He placed the pot on the gas burner and turned it on while Lilia washed her hands and began walking toward the chair to rest for a bit.

"Is there anything else?" Zethan asked.

Lilia shook her head. "No, we’ll let it boil for about ten minutes. Then we’ll remove it, add the ingredients, and that’ll be all."

Zethan nodded.

Just as she was about to sit down, his hand gently caught her waist and pulled her back—guiding her toward the plain end of the table as he gently sat her down.

He leaned in, his voice dropping into a husky whisper as his forehead brushed lightly against hers.

"I’ve been a really good boy," he said in a silky, husky tone, eyes locked on hers. "Where’s my reward... wife?"
