Chapter 193: I’m home
Chapter 193: I’m home
Lucifer’s feet touched down on cold marble.
The shift was instant.
One moment, he’d vanished from the throne room. The next, he was standing in the center of Valena’s home. The quiet hum of magic still lingered in the walls, but it was nothing compared to what clung to him now.
The others were already there.
Luna stood slightly behind him, her steps light but wary, eyes sweeping the faces around the room. She said nothing, but she was close. Closer than most. That meant something.
Clone Lucifer stood by the window, watching.
The fifteen seats of the Origin Clan were scattered around the space—each one silent, each one carrying the kind of presence that bent gravity. Zane leaned against a stone column with arms folded, crimson glow in his eyes. Anita stood at attention, cold and calm, but her sharp gaze didn’t miss anything. Alessia was half-shadow already, blending into the darker corners of the room.
Rey and Vina stood near the edge. They were quiet, but not out of place.
And then... Valena.
She had never met him before. Had only heard whispers. But the second she looked at him, something in her blood stirred. Her knees hit the floor before she could even think.
It wasn’t respect. It wasn’t fear.
It was instinct.
Lucifer didn’t say anything at first. He stood still, the light from the hanging crystals brushing over his figure—and for the first time, he looked the part. His body had changed. His old clothes were gone, replaced by a layered mantle of deep crimson and black—stitched with patterns that looked like veins frozen in gold. The thorns that once wrapped around his arms now spiraled gently across his chest like armor grown, not forged. A collar of dark fur curled around his shoulders, regal but dangerous. His eyes were sharper, deeper... carrying something ancient beneath the surface.
He didn’t ask why Valena was kneeling.
He already knew.
His system flickered open before him. No one else saw it. No one even sensed it.
He didn’t move his hands, didn’t blink. Just stared forward while the attributes of the Throne of Thorns unraveled in his vision like scripture carved in flesh.
[Throne of Thorns — Bound]
Status: Awakened
Authority: Absolute (Vampire Realm)
Blood Resonance: 100%
Domain Control: Passive
Root Expansion: Active
King’s Will: [ON]
Hidden Effect: The Throne does not kneel to blood. It makes blood kneel.
Lucifer closed the window in his mind.
He was satisfied.
"Stand," he said to Valena.
His voice wasn’t loud, but it carried. Like a string pulled tight in a quiet room.
Valena rose, confused, eyes unsure. She didn’t know why she bowed. Didn’t understand what just happened. But her body still trembled faintly.
Lucifer looked at her, calm.
"You don’t need to understand it," he said. "Just feel it."
Valena nodded once, lips parting like she wanted to speak—but nothing came out. He spared her no more words.
"Go," he said instead. "Find the Lords of the Vampire Realm. Tell them I’m home."
She hesitated for a second, then nodded again and moved quickly from the room, vanishing through a side corridor.
Lucifer turned toward the others.
"Zane. Anita. Alessia."
The three of them straightened.
"You know what to do," he continued. "Get the Origin Clan settled. This place won’t be temporary. It’ll be our stronghold."
Anita raised a brow. "Where exactly?"
Lucifer didn’t hesitate. "The Vampire King’s castle. It belongs to us now. Make it our home."
Anita gave a sharp nod and left with no questions. Zane clicked his tongue but followed. Alessia lingered for a moment, her shadow twitching like it wanted to say something, then melted after them.
The room was quiet again.
Rey and Vina still hadn’t moved.
Lucifer looked at them now.
"I assume you’re not going back to the demon realm," he said.
Neither answered.
They didn’t need to.
Lucifer stepped closer. The air shifted as he moved—subtle, but impossible to miss. Like the space itself adjusted to let him pass.
He stopped in front of them.
"Then stay," he said. "But not as guests. I want you two as my shadow guards."
Vina tilted her head. "Shadow guards?"
Lucifer nodded. "You’ll be with me. Always close. No one sees me unless I want them to. That includes gods, monsters, and whatever else decides to crawl out of the dark."
Rey didn’t blink. "Understood."
Vina smiled faintly. "So... you trust us now?"
"No," Lucifer said plainly. "But I trust what you want."
Vina looked amused. "And what’s that?"
He met her eyes.
"To survive."
That shut her up.
Lucifer turned slightly and walked back toward the center of the room. The clone was still there, watching silently. It didn’t speak. Didn’t move. It was still trying to understand what it was, who it was. But Lucifer didn’t look at it with anger.
He knew it wasn’t its fault.
Not entirely.
He would deal with it soon. For now, it was just a shadow of his blood. One of many.
Luna stepped beside him again. Her voice was soft.
"Was that really the throne?"
Lucifer didn’t look at her. "It was."
"You don’t seem surprised."
"I’m not."
She hesitated. "Why now?"
He closed his eyes for a moment. The answer wasn’t simple. It wasn’t fate or prophecy. It wasn’t justice. It was just... time.
"It waited," he said finally. "Now it doesn’t need to."
Luna looked around the room. At the remnants of a war that hadn’t happened yet. At the quiet weight behind every silence.
"And what happens next?"
Lucifer looked at her now.
"Now... we build."
He turned back toward the fading light spilling in through the tall windows. The vampire realm stretched out beyond the mountains, its towers glowing dimly under the night sky, its blood already shifting toward him.
This wasn’t just a throne.
It was a beginning.
And the world... didn’t even know it yet.
