Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Wang Family’s Eldest Young Master
"Someone is looking for me?"
Li Feng’s sensitive ears caught the sound on the phone. Bai He hung up the phone and nodded, "A man. The front desk said his tone was unpleasant."
Li Feng curled his lips into a smile and strode outside, followed closely by Bai He: "Young Master Feng, let me go check things out first."
"No need."
Li Feng wanted to see who the caller with the bad attitude was. In the lobby of Outer Heaven, Li Feng appeared, and the beautiful receptionist immediately greeted him, pointing to a seating area on the side of the lobby: "Young Master Feng, Manager Bai, he is sitting over there."
Li Feng glanced up following the direction pointed by the receptionist and strode straight over. The man was in his late twenties, wearing a branded casual suit, his face showing a bit of arrogance.
"Alright, hang up."
The young man ended his call, his gaze sweeping over Li Feng who suddenly stood up from the sofa. He straightened his suit and looked dismissively at Li Feng.
"So, you are Li Feng, the Li Family’s illegitimate son who wants to be a son-in-law to the Wang Family."
Li Feng’s eyebrows knitted together, the other party’s words were a direct self-introduction: "Are you from the Wang Family?"
"Humph, you don’t even recognise me?"
The young man scoffed coldly and then looked at Li Feng with sudden disdain: "That’s right. You are just a lowly illegitimate child. It’s normal that you don’t know who I am."
"Remember this then, I am Wang Ping’an. Wang Jin’er is my cousin."
Li Feng responded indifferently, "Do you need something from me?"
"Do you need something?"
Wang Ping’an curled his lip and scoffed coldly, stepping right up to Li Feng, his gaze towering aggressively: "I’m here to warn you, call off your engagement with my cousin voluntarily."
"Just because you have a good father doesn’t mean you are worthy to be my family’s son-in-law. You are not fit!" As Wang Ping’an grasped Li Feng’s collar, Bai He attempted to intervene. Li Feng raised his hand, signaling for him to stay back.
"Is this why you came to see me?"
Li Feng remained as cold as ever. Wang Ping’an, observing Li Feng’s unflinching expression, released him: "Huh, impressive composure."
"But mud will always be mud, and scum will always be scum. Don’t even think about aspiring for what’s out of your reach, because a toad belongs in the mud, never able to soar."
Wang Ping’an snickered coldly.
"Are you threatening me?"
"I’m advising you, though you can take it as a threat if you want." Wang Ping’an squinted his eyes, clearly undervaluing Li Feng, whose background he had already thoroughly investigated.
His mother was supposedly the first love of someone from the Li Family, but unfortunately, due to the disparity in their family backgrounds, he married a woman from the Xiao Family and abandoned his first love, who ended up carrying his child. Li Feng came into the Li Family’s knowledge only years later.
Subsequently, having fallen out with the Li Family, he left home and never communicated again with them, effectively left to survive on his own outside.
His life in Huacheng was merely a struggle as a minor character; from dropping out of school to various part-time jobs and even mingling in the streets before attending a prestigious university for the sake of gold-plating, finally becoming a son-in-law to a rich and beautiful woman.
His life was indeed colorful and enriched. No wonder the Li Family was willing to send him as a son-in-law to the Wang Family. Aside from having the Li family’s bloodline, he was nothing more than dredge, being chosen as a son-in-law for his cousin was akin to winning the lottery.
Not to mention his cousin’s allure and status as the only daughter of the principal Wang Family lineage, who controlled nearly ninety percent of the family’s assets.
This was a boon for this piece of filth.
"Li Feng."
Zhang Xue ran forward, pushing away Wang Ping’an who was facing Li Feng: "Return my daughter to me."
Li Feng looked at Zhang Xue and flatly refused.
"Zhang Xue, don’t even think about it."
"You, the daughter is mine, what right do you have to keep her? Return her to me, otherwise don’t blame me for making a scene here. Right now, I have nothing to lose, and nothing more to care about."
Zhang Xue knew her only leverage was her daughter, who, although not biologically Li Feng’s, had been cared for by him more dearly than by her own mother.
In the car earlier, Zhang Xue had realized that Li Feng’s affection for Bao’er was not easily eroded; this was her opportunity.
"How dare you push me."
Wang Ping’an rose from the ground, stretched out his hand to grab Zhang Xue’s shoulder, and slapped her.
Ah!
Zhang Xue was knocked to the ground.
"Li Feng, this woman isn’t your ex-wife, is she?"
Li Feng ignored Wang Ping’an, looking at Zhang Xue who had fallen, without a trace of sympathy.
"Zhang Xue, I will raise our daughter. Don’t waste your efforts."
"Stay as far away from me as possible, or I’ll make things even worse for you."
Zhang Xue stamped her foot and looked at Li Feng leaving, then Wang Ping’an turned and looked at her, his eyes sweeping over her body, finding her quite attractive.
"Are you his ex-wife?"
Zhang Xue turned to face Wang Ping’an, who had approached to flirt, and she scoffed coldly; after all, he had just tried to hit her.
Wang Ping’an looked at Zhang Xue, who had turned away: "Zhang Xue, former CEO of Qingcheng Fashion, such a shame luck wasn’t on your side, ended up marrying trash and lost your company, your situation is quite dire."
Zhang Xue turned around coldly and faced Wang Ping’an: "I don’t know you, and I don’t want to. Can you shut up?"
Wang Ping’an, intrigued by her icy demeanor, was more interested in her now; he never lacked beautiful women, but interesting souls were rare.
Wang Ping’an pulled a business card from his pocket, "Here’s my card, my surname is Wang, perhaps we might find some common topics."
Zhang Xue frowned, glanced at the business card Wang Ping’an offered, a director at Divine Tree Group.
Divine Tree Group.
A thought flashed through Zhang Xue’s mind. Divine Tree Group, a behemoth among Yan Country’s coal mining enterprises, started from coal mining, also known as the ’coal ancestor’. In the energy sector, regardless of the current downturn, Divine Tree Group was undoubtedly a market leader, aggressively merging and acquiring.
Zhang Xue took the card nonchalantly and looked at Wang Ping’an, her tone softening slightly: "What common topics might we have?"
Wang Ping’an smiled faintly: "Why don’t we have a drink later, and chat while we drink?"
