Chapter 786: Grandpa’s Letter

Chapter 786: Chapter 786: Grandpa’s Letter

"No, no good."

Inside the hospital room, Li Jingwei’s complexion shifted uneasily. Letting him just walk away, where would his face go? But just then, the door to the hospital room was yanked open, and a bodyguard hurried in.

"Panicking like you’ve seen a ghost."

"Young Master, haven’t seen a ghost, but just now when I went downstairs to buy cigarettes, I happened to see seven or eight people at the inpatient department, seems like they were asking about your hospital room. This bunch clearly came for you."

"Damn."

Li Jingwei never expected Li Feng’s revenge to come this swiftly. "What are you waiting for? Help me up, quick!"

Li Jingwei had only these two bodyguards by his side who could still move; the others were injured pretty badly. If they got trapped now, it would be a dire outcome.

The two bodyguards immediately helped Li Jingwei out of the hospital room, not daring to take the elevator and instead opting for the emergency exit.

"Has he run away?"

Just then, the elevator doors slid open and several people walked out, immediately spotting someone leaning in the corridor.

"Yeah, don’t rush to chase, let them run for a bit. Like a cat catching mice, you understand? It’s no fun if you just crush them outright."

"Alright, I’ll do as you say."

"But this guy must have his head kicked by a donkey to hire a Swordman to kill the Young Master. Isn’t he just blatantly telling everyone that he’s the one who arranged this?"

"Heh, maybe he wanted the Young Master to know, but he didn’t expect the guy he hired to be kicked away by the Young Master."

"It’s about time, let’s chase."

A group of people burst into the emergency exit, "They’re here, don’t let them get away!"

Li Jingwei, hearing the noise from above, quickened his pace, but his internal injuries were severe; it felt like he was about to spew fire from his throat, every organ aching. Still, he gritted his teeth and fled.

"Quick, start the car."

The three of them got into the car and shook off their pursuers.

"Li Feng, if I don’t avenge this, I, Li Jingwei, swear I’m no human being."

However, before Li Jingwei could finish speaking, he saw headlights flashing behind them. The driving bodyguard glanced back, "They’re catching up again."

"Lose them."

On the road, a real-life Fast and Furious unfolded.

Whoosh, whoosh.

An Xi went to shower, leaving Li Feng sitting on the couch, pulling up another screen. In the sky, a quadcopter drone hovered, always tracking the vehicle involved in the pursuit below.

After a while,

The sound of water stopped. Wrapped in a bath towel, An Xi stepped lightly like a sprite, coming to stand beside Li Feng.

"Young Master, what are you watching?"

Li Feng wrapped his arm around An Xi’s slender waist.

"A man who overestimates his own strength. He came to me before, bragging about his noble lineage, then sent a Swordman to chop off my limbs. This guy really holds grudges, but it seems he doesn’t understand me well. I’m also someone who doesn’t carry grudges overnight."

An Xi glanced at the screen, curling her lips, knowing the capabilities of the Dragon Guards, the Young Master’s bodyguards. There was no way they would let the opponent escape. This must be another game of cat and mouse by the Young Master.

"What’s so fun about playing cat and mouse?"

An Xi shut the laptop, "Young Master."

Hearing An Xi’s tender voice, Li Feng inhaled sharply. There’s a saying in the world, when patience is exhausted, there’s no need to endure further.

This night

passed without tranquility.

The Taotie feast of Outer Heaven hadn’t ended, and though it continued throughout the night, the results were remarkable.

Li Jingwei was still "fleeing," experiencing a night of dread amidst relentless "assassination."

"Li Jingwei is not in the hospital room."

Cui Boyu, who had been calculated against, had a face that was bruised purple and red, even sporting a panda eye, "Damn that Li Jingwei, if you have the guts, don’t let me catch you."

Zheng Ren looked at Cui Boyu’s face and struggled to hold back his laughter, "This guy has probably run back to his hometown by now, so what’s next?"

"Hmph, the Li Family was never of much consequence to begin with. If they’ve left, they’ve left. Hasn’t Lu Qi contacted you yet?"

"Not yet. He’s been traveling around these past few days, as if he doesn’t care."

"Let’s wait another day; we still have time." Before Cui Boyu’s words had faded away, his cell phone began to ring. It was his cousin Lv Qinghou. Cui Boyu answered the call immediately.

"Cousin, the matter of joining forces with the Zheng and Lu Families has made progress, wait until tomorrow...!"

"What?"

"This can’t be possible. The Century Group’s delisting isn’t even complete yet, how dare Li Feng do this? Is he not afraid of offending everyone?"

Zheng Ren glanced at Cui Boyu.

"What happened?"

Cui Boyu slammed his phone furiously onto the ground. He had been schemed against by Li Jingwei the night before, and now he was hearing this piece of devastating news.

Cui Boyu slumped onto the sofa, "Last night, Li Feng invited some people and sold off the Century Group in a bundle."

Zheng Ren was also stunned, "That’s way too hasty. This is not just a few hundred or a thousand dollars’ worth of stuff that you can just sell off by slapping your butt. Could it be a rumor?"

Cui Boyu was a bit agitated; he was here trying to strategize to pressure Li Feng, but the man didn’t play by the rules at all.

"The news has already spread; it couldn’t be fake. Now, we just don’t know who got their hands on this cake."

Zheng Ren immediately picked up his phone, starting to make inquiries. Since there were rumors, there must surely be insider information. A few minutes later, Zheng Ren took a deep breath and hung up the phone.

"What did you find out?"

"The Lu Family got on board and acquired three companies with good assets. If they digest it, the Lu Family’s strength will at least double."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes." Zheng Ren didn’t say anything further; he just stood up, "Old Cui, let’s leave this matter as it is for now. I’ve got some other things to attend to and need to go."

The Zheng Family had also got a slice of the pie, but it was certain that the Longyou Li Family and Boling Cui Family got nothing this time. As for the reasons...

Cui Boyu was so clever that he was outsmarted by his own cleverness. Thankfully, he wasn’t the one leading this charge.

Outer Heaven.

Yan Fatty hurriedly arrived at the clubhouse restaurant, "Young Master Feng."

Li Feng looked up at Yan Fatty, "Are those people done with their task?"

Yan Fatty had a bitter expression, "Young Master Feng, this morning our staff found a Flying Knife nailed to the signboard of Outer Heaven, and there was a letter under the knife, addressed for Young Master Feng to open personally. The people below did not dare delay and directly came to find me."

"Oh, where is the thing?"

"Here!"

Li Feng looked at the letter and the Flying Knife that Yan Fatty handed over. The Flying Knife wasn’t unusual, it was a common Hidden Weapon often used in the world, with no distinctive features.

However, this letter.

Li Feng broke the seal and pulled out a sheet of paper.

Sss.

Li Feng opened the letter and immediately drew in a sharp breath upon seeing the words inside.

"Young Master, could this be from the Swordsman from yesterday?"

An Xi asked out of curiosity; passing messages with a Flying Knife usually signified a duel in the world.

"No, it’s a letter from my grandfather."

"Ah, a letter from grandfather, what does it say?"

An Xi got up and moved next to Li Feng, trying to glimpse the contents of the letter.

"What should come will still come."
