Chapter 648: Chapter 648: Ill Intentions Come
"Get lost!"
Zheng Xi was directly pushed away by a bodyguard, nearly stumbling and falling. The bodyguard stepped aside, making way for a man with a square face and a dragon’s stride moving confidently forward.
Li Feng narrowed his eyes to size up the newcomer while Mu Yuyan also stared at him — she didn’t recognize this person; he was definitely not one of her admirers.
Li Feng and the stranger sized each other up, and the ignored Zheng Xi burst into anger. He, the great young master of the Zheng Family, when had he ever been disregarded like this?
"Who are you, do you know who I am?"
Zheng Xi looked angrily at the man in front of him.
"Just a moment."
The man said to Li Feng and then turned around, his tiger-like eyes looking down from above at Zheng Xi: "I’ll give you a chance to say who you are."
Zheng Xi took a deep breath, looking at the man in front of him who was a head taller and exuded an imposing aura. Who was this guy, daring to meddle in others’ affairs? Was he connected to Li Feng?
But no matter who he was, was Zheng Xi afraid?
In Sea City, there was no one Zheng Xi feared.
"Humph, you don’t even know who I am, and you dare to meddle like a dog chasing mice; you must be tired of living."
The man gave a dismissive laugh, and seeing his mocking smile, Zheng Xi felt annoyed: "Listen well, I’m Zheng Xi."
"Zheng Xi."
The man pondered for a moment, and Zheng Xi grunted, "Now you know who I am? In Sea City, there’s no one I, Zheng Xi, can’t deal with, no problem I can’t solve. But you, where did you pop out from, daring to meddle in my business?"
The man looked up at Zheng Xi: "Zheng Xi, no impression. I also have a few friends in Sea City, and in this circle, many people should know me."
"Really? I’m curious to hear, who are your friends?"
"Ye Fan, do you know him?"
"Ye Fan?"
Zheng Xi suddenly choked up; it couldn’t be that Ye Fan.
"You don’t know? This guy boasted that just mentioning his name in Sea City would work wonders; seems he was bluffing."
The man said softly, and as Zheng Xi listened, he couldn’t believe it: "The Ye Fan you’re talking about, his father is?"
"His dad is Ye Yuan, the top leader in Sea City."
The man stated casually, and Zheng Xi choked on his own saliva, coughing twice: "You know Young Master Ye."
In Sea City, Zheng Xi could strut around, but that didn’t mean he had no fear; as powerful as he was, he was still nothing in front of certain people.
For instance, before Young Master Ye, he was nothing but a grandchild; if he dared to offend him, not even Ye himself needed to act—his own father could crush him.
"We grew up together, living in the same courtyard and wearing the same pants."
Zheng Xi swallowed nervously: "You really know Ye Fan, Young Master Ye?"
It was almost too coincidental for Zheng Xi to believe.
Could this guy just be bluffing him?
The man looked at Zheng Xi’s dark and changing face, chuckled, and immediately raised his hand. A bodyguard behind him quickly got the hint and handed over a mobile phone. The man pressed a number and switched on the speakerphone.
Beep-beep, beep-beep.
After a few rings, the call connected on the other end.
"Hello, old Zhu, how come you have the leisure to call me?"
"Ye Fan, I just flew back from abroad, now I’m in Sea City."
"Oh, you’re back, and still in Sea City. Then, as a good host, if you’re free, let’s meet up later."
"No problem with meeting up, but Ye Fan, it seems like you were boasting to me before, saying you were very influential in Sea City, and that mentioning your name could solve any problem. I just tried it, and it seems your name isn’t that useful!"
"Hmm, what happened?"
"Do you know someone named Zheng Xi? Seems like he’s quite an influential figure in Sea City, very arrogant and influential."
"Zheng Xi?"
There was a clear hesitation on the other end of the phone, followed by another voice chiming in with a reminder.
"Zheng Xi, I got it. He’s a spoiled heir from a second-rate Family, what, did he mess with you?"
"Is he next to you?"
Zheng Xi was listening to the conversation between the two and his calves were starting to cramp, realizing that the other party really knew Ye Fan, the young Mr. Ye.
"He’s listening right now, but whether he’ll take you seriously, I can’t say."
"Zheng Xi, you son of a bitch, you dare mess with a brother of Ye Fan, do you want to stop existing? If you want out, just say it, and I’ll make your Zheng Family disappear from Sea City immediately."
Ye Fan was utterly ruthless on the phone.
"Young Mr. Ye, it’s a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding."
"Misunderstanding my ass, I’m telling you Zheng Xi, kneel down and apologize to my brother. If he forgives you, consider yourself lucky to save your dog’s life. If he doesn’t, well, think about the consequences."
"Old Zhu, handle it as you see fit. If he dares to retaliate, just tell me. I’ll make sure he doesn’t get away with bullying me, Ye Fan."
"Alright, hanging up, see you later."
The man hung up the phone and looked at Zheng Xi, "This guy is Ye Fan, right? If you still think he’s fake, then let’s meet him later."
Zheng Xi immediately knelt down, "I was wrong, totally misjudged you. Please, let it go."
Gulp.
A few of Zheng Xi’s lackeys also swallowed nervously. Ye Fan was the most powerful figure in Sea City, and to them, Zheng Xi was nothing but a junior.
After all, ordinary folks don’t fight with officials, and these gangsters wouldn’t dare to oppose an official either; it would be like squashing an ant.
"Get lost!"
The man glared at Zheng Xi, barely bothering to deal with such a sleazy character. Zheng Xi groaned and scuttled off, fearing the man might change his mind.
Zheng Xi scurried away, and the others followed, fleeing shamefully.
Chu Wei, blending in with the crowd, muttered with interest and took another look at the man who unexpectedly intervened. Who is this guy?
His gaze then shifted back to Li Feng, who always seemed to have surprises up his sleeve.
Chu Wei didn’t linger, as his purpose was served. The feud between Zheng Xi and Li Feng was established, though the intervention was unexpected.
Once Zheng Xi left, the atmosphere in the room remained tense. The man turned back and approached Li Feng.
"Gulp, this is so tense."
"Right, this guy who showed up unexpectedly has such a strong presence. Seems like a real boss, just a call and he scared the other guy away. Definitely not a simple character."
"Pointing swords at each other, are they going to fight over our teacher?"
Li Feng squinted at the imposing man across from him, previously thinking he was just an actor arranged by Chu Wei, but now it didn’t seem like it.
Also, the fact that he managed to find the School of Music meant there was substantial power behind him.
The phone call just now proved that.
"It’s getting physical."
"Are they going to start fighting?"
