Chapter 625: Little Zhuge
Chapter 625: Chapter 625: Little Zhuge
Li Feng’s peripheral vision caught a glimpse of the cold glint; he had no choice but to stop in his tracks as the cold glint brushed past him.
The remaining five assassins who had been surrounding Li Feng all retreated.
"Little Zhuge."
The five turned to look at the man who emerged, the very planner of this assassination, Little Zhuge.
The Gold Medal Assassins looked toward Little Zhuge, rumored to be an expert in internal martial arts, and his strength had reached the peak of Hua Jin.
In the world, strength is divided into Innate and Postnatal.
Postnatal strength is further divided into three levels: Ming Jing, Dark Strength, and Hua Jin. Above Hua Jin, by unifying the three aspects of body and opening the Eight Extraordinary Meridians, one could step into the Innate level.
Above the martial world, those who reach the Innate level are recognized as Grandmasters.
As for what lies beyond Grandmasters, that is beyond their understanding, for in the whole of Yan Country, the number of Grandmasters is but a count on one’s fingers.
Moreover, every Grandmaster is in their seventies or eighties. At this level, they seldom appear in the world, and their existence is more like legends among the martial world.
Those at the Hua Jin Level are the strongest National Martial Arts practitioners who walk the earth.
These Gold Medal Assassins, many of them, had only reached the peak of Ming Jing or even later stages; only a few of the top echelon had reached the Dark Strength level.
However, since they are Assassins, they naturally seldom reveal their true capabilities, especially when deployed as a group.
Little Zhuge, as the recruiter of this group, didn’t truly know which level his subordinates had reached. He had wanted to wait and see, but he hadn’t expected Li Feng to kill too quickly and too fiercely.
They had suffered a defeat with Wang Jian, and now Tai Yue, Meng Qi, and Zhou Dao had been successively defeated, their life and death unknown; the remaining five probably were no match either.
If he continued to hold back, the Gold Medal Assassins he had brought this time would all be wiped out.
"You’re quite good."
Little Zhuge looked at Li Feng, "To have me spend so much effort to assassinate you, you should die without regrets."
Li Feng looked over with a sneer.
"Ha, hahaha, that’s probably the funniest joke I’ve heard in my life," Li Feng scoffed coldly, three times over.
"Li Feng, don’t be too arrogant. Don’t think just because you’ve had some advantage, you’re now invincible. Do you know who he is? Jade-Faced Little Zhuge, he is a Hua Jin Stage master."
An Assassin who couldn’t stand Li Feng’s arrogance spoke out. They really thought Li Feng, after defeating a few, presumed them easy to bully.
Reaching Hua Jin was not an easy feat; even if someone practiced martial arts from a young age and managed to reach Ming Jing’s peak before thirty, that was already quite impressive. Reaching Dark Strength required instruction from a master and even talent.
It was said that the youngest Dark Strength master in history was twenty years old, while the youngest masters at Hua Jin Level were all upwards of thirty.
To achieve Hua Jin before forty was to become a National Martial Arts expert, a future Grandmaster in the making.
Li Feng scoffed coldly and looked toward Little Zhuge.
"Oh, is that so?"
"Jade-Faced Little Zhuge, I’m actually quite interested in trying," Li Feng said, his gaze as sharp as a knife at Little Zhuge, with no desire for idle chatter—especially since he couldn’t maintain his current physical condition for much longer.
Before Li Feng finished speaking, his toes touched the ground lightly, and like an arrow released from a bow, he charged at the armored Little Zhuge, whose expression remained concealed behind his mask—calm and collected, with one hand beside him, seemingly gathering strength.
In the blink of an eye, Li Feng was in front of Little Zhuge and threw a punch at Little Zhuge’s face. Little Zhuge grunted, and his clothes billowed as if caught in a gust of wind.
So-called Hua Jin involves the fusion of clear and dark power, where essence, energy, and spirit become one, nearing a state of returning to simplicity and truth.
Without any visible movement, Little Zhuge’s hand caught Li Feng’s fist.
The fist’s driving wind blew Little Zhuge’s hair back from under his mask.
There was a cracking sound from Little Zhuge’s arm bone.
Hmm!
With a muffled grunt, the stone bricks under Little Zhuge’s feet suddenly fractured, even sinking more than an inch; Little Zhuge looked up at Li Feng again, only to see him smiling coldly.
"You’re also a Hua Jin master."
Little Zhuge had never imagined Li Feng, in his twenties, had already achieved Hua Jin, because only through Hua Jin could the fierce Ming Jing and the soft Dark Strength be merged, allowing them to switch at will, even incorporating Dark Strength within Ming Jing and revealing Ming Jing within Dark Strength.
And to have mastery over such essence, this was no novice level in Hua Jin.
Even Little Zhuge, considered a martial talent of his generation, had only broken through the mysteries and reached the Hua Jin realm at the age of thirty-six according to his master, who claimed him to be a once-in-a-century genius.
Li Feng paid Little Zhuge no mind, seizing the opportunity to strike while the opponent was weakened.
Damn.
Little Zhuge, watching Li Feng relentless in his pursuit, realized this was an attempt to kill him, "What are you standing around for, surround and attack him!"
He had underestimated his opponent, and the consequences were severe. His arm had been dislocated by Li Feng, tendons and bones damaged; now facing Li Feng head-on, his confidence was indeed lacking.
The several Gold Medal Assassins standing by, watching in shock, were also stunned.
Damn, what’s going on?
Especially the Assassin who had just spoken up for Little Zhuge, this was really losing face.
"A Hua Jin master."
The Assassins looked at each other, who would have thought they were facing a Hua Jin master—incredibly, their opponent was so young, a once-in-a-millennium martial arts prodigy?
Despite their thoughts, out of respect for Little Zhuge’s reputation in the world, the Gold Medal Assassins still made their move, at least to save Little Zhuge first.
Li Feng swept a disdainful glance at these unsuspecting Assassins. Since they wouldn’t leave, they could stay behind.
Li Feng launched another punch, and Little Zhuge, with no choice, could only block again. Unfortunately, after being injured by Li Feng’s feigned weakness, how could his remaining arm withstand Li Feng, as though injected with an adrenaline rush?
Li Feng’s punch landed squarely on Little Zhuge’s chest, and instantly Little Zhuge spat out a mouthful of blood, his body sent flying backward.
The Gold Medal Assassins had just made a move when Little Zhuge was already struck hard by Li Feng, leaving them face to face with Li Feng.
Li Feng looked at them with a hint of a cold smile.
"Run!"
