Chapter 616: 616 Intercept halfway
"Come back with me."
Wang Tiandao grabbed Wang Jin’er and forcibly dragged her away from Tengyun Manor. Xiao Yi, who had been living with Wang Jin’er, watched as Wang Jin’er was taken away and picked up her phone to call Zhang Chang.
On the other end, Zhang Chang instantly went on high alert upon receiving Xiao Yi’s tip-off. He had been staying in a hotel not far from Red Twilight Street 66.
He wasn’t very clear about what had happened at the Marriott Club, but he had a rough idea, especially since two days before he had witnessed Ye Haolong being taken away in person.
The reinforcements called by Ye Haolong had ended up taking Ye Haolong himself, and Ye Haolong’s resistance and struggle seemed to still be vivid before his eyes.
This Li Feng was not to be underestimated.
Zhang Chang didn’t mean to cling to coattails, but given the pleasant interactions between them, what he had to do hardly seemed like a question.
Zhang Chang decisively left the hotel and returned to the Marriott Club. There were surveillance cameras at the main entrance of the club. He directly used a cardboard sign with written words to place in front of the camera.
Ten minutes later.
A Mercedes sped out of the Marriott Club and stopped beside Zhang Chang. The car window rolled down: "Get in!"
Zhang Chang immediately pulled open the car door and sat on the passenger side.
"How long ago did it happen?"
"About half an hour ago, I guess. Right after Xiao Yi called me, I came straight here. From what Xiao Yi said, it seems your father-in-law was quite enraged, oh, and by the way, my people have been following your father-in-law’s car, which appeared to be heading towards the city center."
"Uh-huh."
"Tell me the route."
Zhang Chang directly gave a location, and Li Feng immediately set the navigation. His father-in-law entering the city only had two possible destinations: one was the Li Family, and the other was the club where he stayed.
Li Feng quickly analyzed the route: "Buckle up."
With that, Li Feng slammed on the accelerator, and the heavy Mercedes, like a ferocious beast, burst forth. Zhang Chang, seated in the passenger seat, nearly flew out.
What the hell.
Was there a need to drive like he was in Fast & Furious?
Zhang Chang grabbed hold of the car door’s handle, bracing his body entirely against the seat, watching Li Feng weave through traffic. Miraculously, it was as if the traffic lights along the way had been synchronized just for them, making the path completely clear.
"It’s that one ahead."
Twenty minutes later, Zhang Chang spotted their target vehicle.
Li Feng immediately shifted gears and floored the accelerator to chase after it. Zhang Chang felt the push back from his seat and wondered if this guy was actually planning to crash right into them, taking out his father-in-law.
The two vehicles rapidly drove side by side, with Li Feng signaling a right turn to overtake.
"F*ck!"
The driver of the car that was forcibly cut off immediately burst out with expletives, hastily turned the steering wheel to the side to get out of the way, then slammed on the brakes, narrowly stopping before hitting another car that turned in.
Zhang Chang, sitting in the passenger seat, nearly wet himself watching the approaching car’s hood, thinking, damn, this guy really was a life-risking mercenary.
Li Feng got out of the Mercedes, and the driver of the car that had been stopped also pushed open his door, looking very upset. Upon seeing Li Feng approaching, he immediately hurled insults.
"Do you even know how to drive, do you have a death wish?"
Li Feng walked straight up and delivered a lightning-fast karate chop to the man’s neck, knocking the driver out cold. Li Feng then moved forward, leaning down to sit in the driver’s seat.
"What’s going on!"
Wang Tiandao, all disheveled from the impact in the back seat, looked up at the driver and asked.
Li Feng, twisted in the driver’s seat, looked over at his future father-in-law, "Uncle Wang, where are you taking Jin’er? Let me drive you."
"Li Feng!"
Wang Jin’er looked up at Li Feng, also a bit surprised, wondering how he had shown up here.
Wang Tiandao, seeing Li Feng, just about burst with anger, lamenting how his cherished garden’s cabbage had been stolen away.
Most crucially, this little brat had just days before refused the offer to become a son-in-law of the Wang Family, only to resort to devious tactics like presenting a fait accompli, utterly shameless.
"You little brat, you still dare to come see me."
"Uncle Wang, you’re my future father-in-law, we’ll have a long time together yet. In the future, we’re bound to run into each other whether we want to or not."
As Li Feng spoke, he winked at Wang Jin’er sitting beside him. Witnessing this display, Wang Tiandao became even more enraged, as Li Feng dared to flirt with his precious daughter right before his eyes.
"You...!"
"Uncle Wang, this isn’t the place to talk. Let’s go somewhere else."
Li Feng turned the steering wheel decisively, not giving Wang Tiandao a chance to speak, and the car reversed, swung around, and headed onto the road.
"Damn, they left me behind."
Zhang Chang watched as Li Feng drove off, totally dumbfounded, then turned to look at the driver lying on the ground.
He never thought that as one of the Four Young Masters of Jin City, he would have a day when he had to clean up after someone else.
All the way to their destination, Wang Tiandao sat with a dark expression, and beside him, Wang Jin’er was also feeling anxious, uncertain whether these two men would end up fighting.
Li Feng turned the car into a lane and stopped it in front of an antique-scented building: "We’re here."
Li Feng opened the car door, glanced up at the three-story classical building ahead, which had a plaque above the main entrance with "Hundred Treasure Pavilion" written in large characters.
Li Feng got out and walked to the back passenger door to open it, but Wang Tiandao got out from the other side, looked into the car at Wang Jin’er: "Jin’er, come here."
Hearing the authoritative voice of her father behind her, Wang Jin’er could only stick her tongue out at Li Feng. At that moment, it was better not to provoke her father. She scooted out from the other side of the car, and across the vehicle’s body, Wang Tiandao gave Li Feng a cold glare.
"Why have you brought me here?"
"To show you my power, to convince you to marry your daughter to me."
Wang Tiandao scoffed at his words.
"Let me tell you, Mr. Li, even if you wanted to be a son-in-law of the Wang Family now, you wouldn’t stand a chance."
"Don’t think that by resorting to such despicable means and tarnishing my daughter’s chastity, you’ll get my approval."
"My Wang Family’s daughter isn’t worried about finding suitors."
Wang Tiandao glowered at Li Feng, ready for confrontation, when at that moment, Wen Tong, known affectionately as Fatty Wen, came running out from the Hundred Treasure Pavilion.
"Mr. Feng, you’re finally here. The others have been waiting inside."
Wen Tong had already switched allegiances to the Dragon King Hall. After Li Feng swiftly took control of the First Strike, and then almost wiped out the Deacon Council at the Red Mansion with a thunderous strike, Wen Tong had no other choice.
He didn’t have the stature to stand up against someone who could play the Red Mansion like a fiddle.
"Uncle Wang, come inside and have a seat; you won’t be disappointed."
"Heh, don’t provoke me. If we’re going in, we’re going in. Even if you got your father here today, it would be useless!"
Wang Tiandao was determined, realizing that he had misjudged the boy from the Li Family, who he had thought to be a simple man. Now, it seemed he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
