Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Meeting on a Narrow Road

"This wasn’t a car accident."

Shen Yanran hadn’t lost her wits—she realized the situation was worse than she had thought because this might not have been just an ordinary car accident.

Li Feng turned to glance at the rear window glass, and immediately saw gasoline flowing on the ground.

"This truly isn’t a common car accident." Li Feng reached out to grab Wang Jin’er’s slender waist and helped her up, causing Wang Jin’er’s face to flush red. She had been crouched in Li Feng’s arms, sitting on his lap.

Li Feng lifted Wang Jin’er and immediately bent forward.

"What are you doing!"

Shen Yanran, shocked and on guard, watched as he pounced forward. Li Feng ignored her surprise, his knife slicing directly through the deployed airbag of the driver’s seat, then reaching for the driver’s neck.

The driver must have been knocked unconscious by the direct impact of the airbag. Li Feng quickly unbuckled the driver’s seat belt, grasped his collar, and dragged him from the driver’s seat to the passenger seat before diving into the driver’s seat himself.

Li Feng started the car, listening to the roar of the engine—this luxury car’s engine was still intact. Li Feng immediately shifted gears and called out to the two women in the back seat.

"Sit tight, fasten your seat belts."

As soon as Li Feng finished speaking, he slammed the gas pedal, and before the two women could steady themselves, they were thrown into their seats.

Boom.

The luxury car was sandwiched from front and back, and escaping wasn’t going to be easy. Li Feng resorted to ramming forward and backward. Fortunately, the luxury car was sturdy enough to force some space, and he immediately steered the car, breaking out onto the road.

The tanker driver had already walked to the side. Hearing the sound of the luxury car colliding, he frowned, surprised that the occupants were unharmed after such a crash. Watching the luxury car flee in disarray, the tanker driver spoke into his Bluetooth headset, "Target has escaped, bring the car over."

Within moments, an SUV pulled up beside the tanker driver, who tossed his lighter away, opened the door, and directly entered the SUV.

"Chase down that luxury car."

"There’s a Hummer coming up behind us." Shen Yanran shouted through the rear window, seeing the approaching Hummer, but before she finished speaking, there was a sudden loud explosion, and a towering fireball erupted in their field of vision, with a blast wave following closely behind, making the two women in the car feel the heat of the explosion.

Li Feng floored the accelerator, the car’s speed instantly soared to two hundred and continued to climb, but the vehicle behind was firmly on their tail.

"Damn it, I knew he wouldn’t be so easy to take down. Plan B, don’t let him get off this highway, got it?"

"Yes, boss."

Huacheng East Station was a newly established high-speed railway station not located within Huacheng city but at the junction of East District and the eastern suburbs, not far from the city area—just two kilometers away from entering the city ring road.

Once on the city ring road, they would come under the monitored area. Continuing such reckless actions wouldn’t be so easy.

"Plan B."

As the message was relayed, the drivers of two six-axle trucks parked by the roadside started their vehicles and immediately steered them, blocking the road completely with their ten-meter length.

"There’s no road ahead."

Shen Yanran looked forward, two large trailer trucks forming an impassable barrier. What should they do now? The road was divided with the other side lined by barriers and a drainage ditch, effectively leaving them trapped with no escape.

"Hey, are you even listening to me? There’s no road ahead, are you planning to fly over it?" Shen Yanran was frantic. She didn’t care if he wanted to die, but she didn’t want them to be used as shields.

Yet Li Feng didn’t let up on the accelerator, his ears tuned to the Hummer’s engine sound behind them. Just as they were about to crash into the trailer trucks, Li Feng hit the brakes and executed a miraculous 180-degree drift tail swing.

"Ah!"

The two women in the back were almost thrown into the air, an experience akin to riding a roller coaster. Li Feng looked at the decelerating Hummer and floored the accelerator, heading straight towards the halted vehicle.

The driver of the Hummer cursed, shifted to reverse, but was still half a beat too slow. Li Feng floored the accelerator again, and his luxury car charged forward like a roaring Northeast tiger, ramming headfirst into the front of the Hummer.

Bang.

When two brave meet on a narrow road, the braver one wins.

The two vehicles collided head-on. The front half of the luxury car was completely wrecked, and the Hummer, despite its bumper beam, was no better off, lying sideways across the road, its passengers thrown into complete disarray.

Li Feng grunted, pulled back into his seat by the seatbelt. He glanced at the Hummer, twisted his body, and pushed open the car door to get out.

The assassin driver of the Hummer also opened his door, blood streaming down his forehead. He looked up at Li Feng with a sharp, eagle-like glare. Pulling a dagger from his body, he staggered toward Li Feng, who appeared as unsteady as a drunk, and, sneering, took a step towards him.

"Who sent you, who wants me dead?"

Li Feng swayed as he spoke to the other person.

The assassin driver sneered at Li Feng, "Li Feng of Huacheng’s Hidden Dragon, your name is indeed well-known. Unfortunately, you excel at plotting from the shadows. Now that you’ve shown your face, killing you will be as easy as flipping a hand."

"As for who wants you dead and why, you might as well ask King Yan himself in the underworld. My mission is to send you to meet King Yan."

The assassin didn’t waste more words. His eyes turned cold, and the dagger in his hand slashed a swift arc towards Li Feng’s throat.

Li Feng suddenly looked up, flinging his shoulders forward. A flash of cold light shot through the air, and although the assassin was only inches from Li Feng, he suddenly stiffened.

Wang Jin’er anxiously watched through the front windshield. Li Feng’s apparently injured appearance worried her, and Shen Yanran, standing beside her, was equally tense as there was no telling who the assassin was targeting.

"Ha..."

The assassin looked incredulously at Li Feng. He tried to speak but could only utter a hoarse laugh. On closer inspection, his throat had been slit open, blood gushing out steadily.

The assassin had clearly not expected Li Feng to feign injury and, in a critical moment, launch a hidden weapon that pierced his throat, leaving him clueless about how it had happened.

Too fast.

Li Feng turned away as the assassin driver fell heavily to the ground with a thud.

"Are you, are you alright?"

Wang Jin’er pushed open the rear car door, rushed down to Li Feng, and examined him from head to toe. Shen Yanran followed behind and glanced at the fallen assassin and then at Li Feng.

What was Li Feng’s background? Ordinary people would have been terrified and paralyzed in such a situation, but he remained utterly calm, his expression clearly not feigned.

"Do you know how to drive?"

Li Feng looked doubtfully at Shen Yanran.

"Stop underestimating people," Shen Yanran pouted, as Li Feng turned and dragged the still dazed driver out of the Hummer.

"Get her in the car and leave this place."

Li Feng said, then looked at two large trailers from which several thugs were jumping down.

"What about you?"
