Chapter 567: Chapter 567: I’m Not Anyone’s Son
"He said he would come over."
"Good, I’ll wait for him."
Lv Yaohua spoke.
Xiang Yuan walked out of the room, wiping the cold sweat off his brow. Lv Yaohua truly lived up to his reputation as the key figure of the Lv Family; his imposing aura alone was somewhat overwhelming.
Xiang Yuan turned around and went straight to the bottom of the hospital building, anxiously waiting over an hour before he saw Li Feng coming. He hastily jogged up to greet him.
"Young Master, why did you take so long?"
"There was a bit of traffic on the road. Why are you here?" Li Feng looked at Xiang Yuan, who was almost old enough to be his own grandfather.
All he could say was his grandfather was incredible, having his mother at nearly sixty, a true example of old-age vitality. So, the matter Li Feng had discussed with Wang Tiandao about having a second child was indeed not a bluff.
"How could I not come when the matter has alarmed Lv Qinghou’s father, Lv Yaohua, who is now in the hospital?"
"Young Master, when you meet him later, we should step back where we can, and please don’t act impulsively." Xiang Yuan had waited downstairs for more than an hour just to remind Li Feng to be cautious, antagonizing Lady Lv was acceptable, but showing disrespect to Lv Yaohua could mean there was no resolution.
"I understand."
Li Feng then walked into the hospital.
Led by Xiang Yuan, Li Feng arrived at a ward. Xiang Yuan pushed the door open and Li Feng walked in.
The Lady Lv he had met before was there too, her eyes cutting into Li Feng, as if she wished to tear him limb from limb.
Next to Lady Lv stood a square-faced man.
"So you are Li Mingrui’s son, Li Feng."
Li Feng could feel the oppressive aura emanating from the man: "I am Li Feng, but I haven’t yet been included in the Li Family tree."
"From what my nephew tells me, you wanted to see me. Have you decided to apologize to me?"
Lady Lv raised her eyebrows and stepped forward, pointing at Li Feng, "You expect my husband to apologize to you? What are you thinking? Is this the kind of upbringing the Li Family provides?"
Li Feng looked at Lady Lv, shrugging his shoulders.
"Speaking of upbringing, Lady Lv, the sons you’ve raised are way more remarkable than I am—drugging people, attempting rape—tsk, tsk."
"How dare you! Jiang Nan is the bride assigned to my son by the Lv Family; is it not normal for my son to have some interaction with her? And who are you to interfere?"
Lady Lv pointed sharply at Li Feng, her voice fierce.
Li Feng scoffed.
"Right and wrong cannot be so easily inverted by your whims."
Li Feng looked up at Lv Yaohua.
"If you had come here today with the sincerity to apologize, I might have helped your son. That’s my final offer. If you’re not planning to apologize."
"Then there’s nothing left to discuss."
Lv Yaohua looked at this member of the Li Family who dared to speak to him in such a manner: "Do you know who you’re talking to?"
"I do."
"Lv Yaohua, the core leader of three generations of the Lv Family, with a future that’s boundless considering your current career trajectory."
Li Feng’s words were deliberate, with Xiang Yuan, standing behind, rolling his eyes. Young Master, you know, yet you still act so tough.
It seemed that everything he had said outside was in vain.
"Even my father, for the sake of his grand plan, told me to come here, heal your son, and then apologize to you."
"Some have told me that bowing to you is not losing face, but rather something to boast about, at least in the circles of Jin City. I would be viewed higher later on, becoming someone notable."
Lv Yaohua stared at Li Feng, who spoke clearly and without a hint of panic.
"You know all this, yet you still insist I apologize to you."
Lv Yaohua’s tone became stern, his authoritative presence pressing down.
"On what basis?"
Xiang Yuan sweated profusely from his forehead and turned to look at his Young Master.
"On what basis?"
Li Feng repeated the question, meeting Lv Yaohua’s sharp gaze.
"You will soon find out why."
"And remember my name. I am Li Feng."
"I am not just the son of Li Mingrui."
With those cold words, Li Feng turned and walked away. Lady Lv watched him leave, bursting with fury.
"Yaohua, look, just look, this is the wild seed of the Li Family, utterly arrogant and oblivious."
"He even dares to demand an apology from you. Who does he think he is? Even his father, Li Mingrui, wouldn’t dare to be so audacious."
"Oh my, my Young Master, why must you talk like this? Didn’t I tell you before, step back where you can, and don’t be impulsive?"
Xiang Yuan followed behind Li Feng, his voice nagging.
Li Feng stopped and looked at Xiang Yuan, "Nephew, I know what I’m doing; it’s just the Lv Family after all."
Xiang Yuan rolled his eyes again.
"Just the Lv Family, only that, really?"
This Lv Family was still a significant family in Jin City.
Jingang.
Situated next to Jin City as the largest northern sea port city and also the maritime gateway of Jin City, Li Feng left the hospital and drove directly to Jingang.
By nightfall.
At the Li Family residence.
Li Li entered the study: "My Lord."
"Just speak."
"The eldest young master went to the hospital this afternoon and met with Lv Yaohua."
"This darn kid isn’t usually timid, why did he go to the hospital?" Li Mingrui mentioned Li Feng and was instantly infuriated, questioning his ability to raise such a stubborn child. It was all in his best interest.
Furthermore, asking him to apologize to Lv Yaohua, and not to Lv Qinghou, what could he possibly feel aggrieved about?
"Ahem." Li Li coughed and looked at Li Mingrui.
"The eldest young master did go, but he demanded an apology from Lv Yaohua, and declared that it was his bottom line."
Li Mingrui was momentarily stunned, then looked up at Li Li, "Go on, I want to hear more about what this darn kid said."
"The eldest young master also told Lv Yaohua to remember his name, that he is Li Feng, not just the son of Li Mingrui."
Li Li spoke, glancing at Li Mingrui. The eldest young master’s words were indeed domineering, but perhaps a bit too impulsive.
"My Lord, I think the eldest young master is just youthful and impetuous, that’s why he spoke like that."
"Don’t make excuses for this reckless child, not calling himself the son of Li Mingrui, huh."
Li Mingrui scoffed coldly.
"Where is he now?"
"The eldest young master has gone to Jingang."
"Gone to Jingang?"
Li Mingrui pondered for a moment, also somewhat puzzled. What was this rebellious child planning?
Running away?
If he wanted to flee, taking a plane would certainly be faster, or at least he could take a high-speed train. He wouldn’t escape via this route.
Under the night sky of Jingang, a roll-on/roll-off ship docked at the port.
Li Feng picked up a flashlight and flashed a Morse code sequence at the ship. Subsequently, a rope ladder was lowered from the ship.
"Young Master, your subordinate has safely escorted the cargo here, please instruct."
