Chapter 494: Chapter 494: The Interrogation
Sea City relevant departments.
"Name."
"Li Feng."
"Gender."
"Male."
"Date of birth...!"
Li Feng looked at the by-the-book beauty interrogating him, "Beauty, are you single?"
Liu Ruyi raised her head, her almond-shaped eyes coldly sweeping over Li Feng.
"I ask the questions, you answer them. Don’t talk about things irrelevant to the investigation."
Li Feng sized up his interlocutor with narrowed eyes. Dressed like a white-collar worker, she wore a white blouse with a blazer over it, a pencil skirt beneath, black silk high heels, and a pair of glasses resting on her nose bridge. Her face was shaped like a melon seed, giving her a somewhat chilly appearance.
Long hair with a side fringe, light makeup, fingers devoid of rings, her voice crisp and her demeanor aloof.
"What are you looking at?"
"If you’re not willing to tell me, then I’ll just have to guess, hmm?" Li Feng looked up at her, "Are you interested in me or something?"
Liu Ruyi’s gaze hardened as she slapped the table with her hand.
"Li Feng, this is an interrogation room, a serious place. Show some respect."
Li Feng peered over with squinted eyes, "Beauty, seems like you’re confused about something. I am the victim here. Just now, I almost had my head blown off and was nearly strangled by two foreigners."
"And yet, you’re questioning me as if I’m the criminal. I want my lawyer. Until they arrive, I refuse to answer any questions."
Liu Ruyi glared at Li Feng.
"Li Feng, you seem fine to me, while those who wanted to kill you are dead beyond any doubt. Don’t you think you owe us an explanation?"
"Explanation?"
"Heh, I have questions for you too. This is Sea City in Yan Country, where foreigners aimed guns at a lawful citizen. Where did those people and their guns come from? Don’t you think you owe me an explanation?"
"Kid, you’re pretty cocky."
At that moment, the door was pushed open, and a man in his thirties holding a thermos cup walked in.
Li Feng looked up at the newcomer.
"Cui Jia, what are you doing here?"
"The boss asked me to assist you with the interrogation," Cui Jia said with a faint smile, pulling out a chair to sit down. Although Liu Ruyi was dissatisfied, she had to accept it.
"Let’s hear the full story of what happened," said Liu Ruyi.
Li Feng crossed one leg over the other and said, "Like I said, not a word until my lawyer gets here."
Bang.
Cui Jia slammed his tea cup forcefully onto the table, "Li Feng, I don’t care who you are on the outside, but in here, you answer my questions honestly."
"If you don’t cooperate, hmph!"
Li Feng scoffed, "I’m not cooperating; what are you gonna do, bite me?"
Cui Jia looked at Li Feng coldly, picking up a document.
"You think if you say nothing, we can’t find anything on you? You think we’re some kind of joke here? The bits and pieces about you are already in our hands."
"Huacheng’s Hidden Dragon, Li Feng."
"Heh, quite the reputation you’ve got there. You think you can just stay silent and we won’t be able to touch you, you social stability-disturbing criminal?"
"While I still have patience, explain how you killed those people today."
"We’re not the police here."
Cui Jia’s voice carried a hint of threat as he stared at Li Feng.
Li Feng looked at Cui Jia with narrowed eyes, "My killing process, huh? Since you’re so sure I did it, what’s there to talk about? I’d love to see if your State Security has tiger benches and chili water."
"And remember, I won’t forget you."
Cui Jia stood up abruptly, hands slamming on the table, "Are you threatening me?"
"You heard me right; I am indeed threatening you."
Li Feng looked disdainfully at Cui Jia, who hesitated, then turned to Liu Ruyi, "You, get out."
Liu Ruyi looked at him, "What are you planning to do?"
"When I tell you to get out, you get out," Cui Jia said harshly. Liu Ruyi furrowed her brows in dissent, "You’re not my superior; why should I listen to you?"
Cui Jia stared at Liu Ruyi for a few seconds, but she stood her ground. With a humph, he pushed back his chair.
"It doesn’t matter if you don’t want to leave," Cui Jia said, then circled the table to face Li Feng, ripping off his necktie to wrap around his hand, looking down at him condescendingly.
"You probably don’t understand where you are, so let me make it clear to you."
"Cui Jia."
Liu Ruyi tried to intervene but was too late; Cui Jia’s fist smashed toward Li Feng’s face.
Li Feng caught the incoming fist, looking at Cui Jia, "Is your head squeezed by a door? You say I killed those assassins, and you still dare to strike me?"
"Do you think you’re tougher than those mercenaries?"
Li Feng flashed a grin, and before Cui Jia could react, Li Feng kicked at his lower body. Cui Jia’s eyes bulged as he fell to his knees with a thump, and Li Feng grabbed his head, smashing it onto the tabletop with a loud bang.
"You!"
Liu Ruyi watched Li Feng, still stunned at how he broke free from the handcuffs. Li Feng stretched out and stood up.
Thud.
Li Feng advanced, cornering Liu Ruyi against the wall with a hand pressing on her chin, "Surprised?"
"I admit it. I killed them."
"It really was you."
Liu Ruyi’s almond eyes widened in shock. Those were foreign mercenaries, a group of war fanatics; how could he have possibly killed them? After all, according to his file, Li Feng was just a pretty face living off a woman.
"Are you scared?"
Li Feng looked down at Liu Ruyi, who gasped, "You...!"
"Your heartbeat is a bit fast. Are you scared of me, or do you like me?"
Li Feng teased Liu Ruyi as the interrogation room door burst open, and several people rushed in.
"Let her go."
Li Feng turned to look at those who rushed in, snorted, and charged forward. These people had mediocre skills; it took Li Feng no more than a moment to knock them all to the ground.
Liu Ruyi watched Li Feng take down her colleagues, biting her teeth in anger, "Li Feng, do you know where you are? You might get out of this room, but you definitely won’t get out of the main gate."
"What if I do walk out?"
"Do you want to go out with me?"
"You!"
Before Liu Ruyi could finish her sentence, alarms sounded, clearly triggered by someone.
At that moment in the leadership office, whoever heard the red alert changed expression, quickly hanging up the phone and rushing out.
"What’s going on? Why was the alarm triggered?"
