Chapter 462: Chapter 462: Seizing the Shrine Hall

"No, no good!"

"What’s the panic? It’s just auditing the accounts. The sky isn’t falling."

At the Century Group, in Chen Baoming’s office, seeing Chen Dong rush in flustered, Chen Baoming pushed up his glasses on the bridge of his nose.

"Baoming, it’s not about the audit!" Chen Dong was a bit out of breath, Chen Baoming sounded a "Oh": "Not the audit? Then what could it be?"

"It’s about the hospital."

"What happened at the hospital?"

"Uncle’s body was taken away by someone surnamed Li."

"What."

Chen Baoming’s expression slightly changed: "Are you sure?"

"Of course, I’m sure. Didn’t you tell me to have someone watch Uncle’s body? I didn’t expect that Li person thought of it too, probably got scared off while at the villa."

"Where is he?"

"I don’t know." Chen Dong scratched his head.

"You don’t know? You’re telling me you don’t know? Do you realize if he has Uncle’s body cremated, we won’t have any evidence to investigate Li Feng’s mischief?"

Chen Baoming grabbed Chen Dong by the collar, a worthless man who fails more than succeeds.

"Baoming, don’t panic just yet. The person I sent is on it and will definitely call me with news; besides, the seventh-day mourning isn’t even over, how could they cremate?"

Chen Baoming looked at Chen Dong: "You care about this, but does that Li care? If he really killed Uncle, he would definitely get rid of the body by cremating it without any concern."

"No, he must be up to something. Otherwise, why would he head straight to the hospital morgue after leaving the villa? He’s probably afraid of a forensic examination, revealing something that would expose his scheme."

"Then he’ll have no choice but to get out."

Chen Baoming’s eyes flickered. Li Feng’s urgency to destroy the body might not be without guilt; otherwise, why would he bother managing Uncle’s funeral?

At the villa, he must have heard something and known they wanted to start investigating him using Uncle’s body.

Upon hearing this, Chen Dong looked at Chen Baoming: "Baoming, what now?"

"Gather people. There are only so many crematoriums in Sea City. Use connections, have people watch over them. As soon as we have reliable news, we must recover Uncle’s body no matter what."

Chen Baoming clenched his fists, his words tinged with gritted teeth. Chen Dong nodded, turned, and was about to leave.

"Wait."

"What else?"

"Tell Chen Baichuan and the others, let them know the stakes. This time, it’s crucial for the survival of our Chen family. If anyone dares fail..."

"Humph, they won’t be forgiven by the Chen family."

Chen Dong looked at Chen Baoming and nodded firmly: "I understand."

Li Feng drove to Huqiu Ridge on the outskirts of Sea City, also home to Sea City’s most famous cemetery. At the foot of the cemetery’s hills, there’s also a special chapel for hosting funerals.

Li Feng arrived at the parking lot of Huqiu Cemetery, Jiang Linda waved at him, and he stopped the car: "Is everything arranged?"

"It’s not that easy. This was too sudden, the chapel here was already booked."

"Hmm?"

"But, the park management said they would help coordinate when they heard it was for the chairman of Century Group’s funeral. It seems they have the largest chapel booked by someone who is still alive,"

Jiang Linda explained.

Li Feng made an acknowledging sound: "Just say but."

Jiang Linda curled her lips: "But whether they can coordinate it is another question. The park said the person who booked the chapel in advance is an elderly man; he arranged it for himself, and all the decor inside is set. I’ve seen it; it’s quite a setup."

"I also checked on this elder; his name is Zheng Xingdou, part of the Zheng family from Xingyang. He has three sons: the eldest in politics, the second in the military, the third in business, all in significant positions. Additionally, he has two daughters, both married well."

As they spoke, Su Yuqing approached.

"How’s it going?"

Jiang Linda asked.

Su Yuqing shook her head, "No chance, the old man flatly refused upon hearing it and said he doesn’t give a damn about the chairman of Century Group, telling us to stay out of his way."

Hearing Su Yuqing say this, Jiang Linda felt she had anticipated it, "I told you, no chance."

"What did the funeral parlor say?"

"They said if we could wait a day, they could make do with a slightly inferior hall."

Su Yuqing replied, and then looked up at Li Feng.

"Shall we wait then?"

"Do you think we can wait?"

"Where was that hall you mentioned earlier?"

Li Feng spoke, and Jiang Linda turned her head to look at him, "What are you planning to do?"

"What do you think?"

Jiang Linda immediately grabbed Li Feng’s arm, "Can you not mess around? That hall is reserved by someone, and as I mentioned earlier, that old man has a complicated background. If you take over his hall, you’re just inviting big trouble."

"Hogging the restroom without using it, and he still thinks he’s right."

"Uh!"

Jiang Linda exchanged glances with Su Yuqing, finding the comment difficult to continue from.

"What did you say?"

At the Sea City Red Star Nursing Home, an old man received a phone call and abruptly sat up in bed.

"Old Zheng, why all the shock and alarm?"

"What’s going on? Someone’s taken over my mourning hall, damn it! Nurse, prepare the car for me."

"Ah, your health?"

"I’m perfectly fine, hurry up and call me a car. I really want to see who’s got the guts to take over Zheng Xingdou’s mourning hall, lawlessness at its peak."

The largest and most luxurious mourning hall in Huqiu Cemetery.

The funeral director finished preparing Chen Qinian’s appearance and placed him in a crystal coffin, while the funeral parlor staff looked as if they had swallowed bitter herbs.

"You all don’t need to worry about this; I took this place by force. If anyone comes, I will handle it."

Li Feng said.

The funeral parlor staff were helpless, unable to provoke either party.

"F*ck, which bastard dares to take over my family’s patriarch’s mourning hall? Must be tired of living, thinking about visiting the underworld, aren’t they?"

Voices arrived before individuals did.

Li Feng looked up as a man in his thirties entered from outside the hall, cursing and entering aggressively, followed by a driver/bodyguard.

"Is it this grandson?"

"It’s me."

Li Feng stepped forward to confront him.

"F*ck, who the hell do you think you are, popping out of nowhere, knowing I’ve booked this hall? Get the person out immediately, or else... don’t f*cking blame me for being rude."

Zheng Xing grabbed Li Feng’s collar and threatened.

"Ah, what had to come finally did," Jiang Linda sighed, covering her head, knowing this would happen.

"Who dares to mess with my mourning hall?"

Before Li Feng could speak, another powerful shout came from outside the door, and then an old man burst in, visibly furious, with two young nurses hurrying behind him.

"Dad, why are you here? I told you, I’d handle it."

"Step aside, someone took over my mourning hall, and I’m supposed to count on you ungrateful descendants?"

"So it’s you who took over my mourning hall."
