Dongfang Wenzheng turned to look at Ma Chusheng. He needed to sway those who mattered, especially since Ma Chusheng and his group were founding members of Century Group and had students and former officials in various departments of the company.

If he were to become Chairman, Ma Chusheng and his group could provide immense help, making things much easier. As for the Chen Family causing any major waves, they were nothing but trash. If it weren’t for Chen Qinian’s regard for family ties, none of them would have qualified for high positions.

Ma Chusheng looked up at Dongfang Wenzheng, obviously unwilling to publicly betray anyone, as that would damage his reputation.

"As far as I know, Eastern Investment does hold a substantial portion of Century Group, but it seems to me that the shares I’m currently representing are more than what you hold."

Dongfang Wenzheng actually only held seventeen percent of the shares, making him the undeniable second-largest shareholder of Century Group. Besides, Dongfang Wenzheng also had the support of a few other investment firms, giving his faction control of about thirty-one percent in total.

Dongfang Wenzheng snorted, "Aside from what I hold, several other directors are on my side. So, I control thirty-one percent of shares. Do you think I’m qualified?"

"You mean they support you one hundred percent?"

"Yes, any problem with that?"

"Then let’s put it to a vote."

Li Feng said.

"Heh, alright, if you insist on a show of hands, then I’ll indulge you," Dongfang Wenzheng turned and coldly said, "Those supporting me for Chairman, raise your hands."

After speaking, Dongfang Wenzheng raised his hand, but the directors from the investment firms that should have followed him did not.

"Sorry Dongfang, I just got a message from the company; we’ve been acquired."

"Acquired?"

"And you, Zhang Wen?" Dongfang Wenzheng looked at the next person.

"Our company has also been acquired."

The investment firms’ directors also shook their heads, equally confused and unsure of what was going on. However, the messages from their bosses couldn’t be mistaken.

"What kind of joke is this, telling me now that you’ve been acquired?"

"Approved."

"No objections."

The four sitting behind Li Feng raised their hands one after another, drawing gasps from the audience despite their suspicions.

The representative of the group’s legal department inhaled sharply as they saw it; Li Feng had eighteen percent in proxy shares, and these four people together had around ten percent.

In other words, this least expected candidate actually had more shares than Chen Muyang.

"It seems I now hold the most shares."

Li Feng turned to Dongfang Wenzheng, "So, am I the Chairman now?"
