Chapter 422: Chapter 422 Self-written, Self-directed, Self-performed?

Li Feng looked indifferently at the people around him, begging and threatening.

"You all want me to die, so I should just go and die?"

"What else do you want to do, drag all of us down with you to die? That person made it very clear, he only wants your life tonight. This is clearly a personal vendetta between you two. Why do you have to drag us into it?"

"Yeah, you can’t behave like this. It’s better for one person to die rather than all of us."

"Li Feng, you can’t be so selfish."

"There’re only twenty more seconds, no time left."

Someone sobbed as they watched the countdown timer rapidly ticking down, knowing that waiting for time to run out was probably the most cruel thing in the world.

Bang.

Suddenly, the sound of a broken bottle reverberated through the crowd.

"I can’t just die like this. Since our opponent only wants your death to spare us, then I’m afraid we’ll have to ask you to die."

One man, who clearly didn’t want to give up so easily, saw that everyone could live if Li Feng died. If Li Feng would just kill himself, that would be best. But now, looking at Li Feng’s thick-skinned face, it was clear he had no intentions of committing suicide.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it’s not that I want to kill. I just want to save us all. I won’t regret what I’m about to do today."

After saying this, the man strode towards Li Feng and stabbed at him with the broken bottle.

"Ah!"

Jiang Linda and the other women watched in horror as this man was about to stab Li Feng, so they turned their heads away, unable to watch.

Li Feng saw the man coming and, in a split second, kicked out, sending the man thumping to the ground.

Bang.

Bang.

The sound of bottles being smashed echoed again around the room.

"He’s right, the only hope now is for you to die. Since you don’t want to sacrifice yourself for everyone, we’ll just have to ask you to die."

"Let’s all go at once."

Several people, armed with broken bottles and even dinner knives, closed in on Li Feng from all sides. Li Feng, facing these desperate attackers, showed no mercy.

These people were just white-collar workers, unaccustomed to manual labor. Even those with good builds were only gym-fit, and their fighting ability couldn’t even compare to street thugs.

Li Feng found it effortless to beat them, knocking them to the ground with a single kick.

"There’re only ten seconds left."

"If you want to live, attack together, even if you have to bite him to death."

Many people, driven by desperation as the countdown imposed the final straw, surged towards Li Feng. Even though they were unarmed, they bared their teeth in rage, as if they wanted to flay Li Feng alive.

Time was up.

Jiang Linda had been keeping an eye on the timer, and as the countdown hit zero, she instinctively closed her eyes.

But several seconds passed, and all she could hear were still the impassioned cries and the shouting to attack Li Feng.

"The time is up, and there’s no explosion!"

Jiang Linda muttered to herself.

"The time is up, there’s no explosion."

Su Yuqing, hearing Jiang Linda’s words, turned to look and saw that even though the countdown had hit zero, there had indeed been no blast.

"Quick, stop everyone."

If this was all just a cruel joke, it would be laughable. Everything that just happened would turn into a huge farce.

"Stop fighting!"

"Quick, let’s all shout together and calm everyone down."

As Jiang Linda and others began to shout in unison, some people started to notice.

"There’s no explosion?"

"The time is up, and it didn’t explode?"

Some people suddenly felt as if all their strength had been drained, relieved that they hadn’t exploded, as though they had been given a new lease on life.

As the voices echoed throughout the hall, everyone stopped their actions.

"There’s no explosion?"

"It hit zero and didn’t explode."

Many people recovered from their frenzy in an instant, and suddenly, many felt confused. Could this have been some sort of prank?

"What’s going on? Why didn’t it explode?"

"You ask me, but who am I to ask? Maybe it malfunctioned, but anyway, it seems we’ve managed to save our skins."

"Li Feng, did you already know it wouldn’t explode?"

Ma Shuangshuang had always been calm. As the only daughter of the wealthy Ma family, she wasn’t just an ordinary rich and beautiful girl; she was also intelligent and beautiful. Even when faced with life and death, she hadn’t panicked.

Ma Shuangshuang quickly made the connection to what Li Feng had said earlier, but at that time, no one had believed Li Feng.

"He knew all along?"

"Seems like he just said it wouldn’t explode."

The crowd suddenly felt embarrassed. Li Feng had said so, but no one had listened at the time, simply assuming Li Feng was just talking nonsense.

"You say it won’t explode, and it just won’t?"

But nobody ever expected that he would actually be right.

"Li Feng, how did you know it wouldn’t explode? You didn’t stage this whole thing, did you?" Soon, people began to question him.

"Yeah, that female journalist earlier said he was a criminal, there’s no smoke without fire."

"Then why would he want to kill himself?"

"Why? Is that even a question? Of course, he wants to portray himself as noble, even a hero, so we would all be indebted to him, making it easy for him to take over Century Group."

Li Feng was fucking fed up. He couldn’t believe such theories could actually gain traction among the crowd.

"Shit, this guy is really cunning."

"Hmph, if he weren’t cunning, how could he have deceived the chairman so thoroughly?"

"That’s right, absolutely. It was all an act, utterly shameless, treating us like monkeys."

"Li Feng, you owe us an explanation."

"Idiot!"

Li Feng cursed directly at the person pointing at his nose, who looked unfazed and retorted, "You dare to curse at me?"

"Li Feng, you’ve hurt so many of us; you think you can just walk away without saying anything? I’m telling you, you need to give us an explanation."

"That’s right, you have to explain yourself, otherwise, you’re not going anywhere."

Ma Shuangshuang felt embarrassed. These people really couldn’t be underestimated. Fang Ting, watching from the side, couldn’t help but give Ma Shuangshuang a thumbs-up.

"Shuangshuang, you’re brilliant for seeing through Li Feng’s malicious intentions. This bastard is truly deceitful."

Ma Shuangshuang turned to look at Fang Ting: "I never said that. We only know why it didn’t explode from him."

"Shuangshuang, why are you defending him? I think what everyone is saying makes sense, it might very well be a drama he concocted."

"Damn, damn, damn, why didn’t it explode? How is that possible?"
