Chapter 411: Beneath One Person

Chapter 411: Chapter 411: Beneath One Person

Zhao Hai felt like he was looking at an alien when he glanced at Li Feng. In Century Group, Chen Qinian was the undisputed king, whose words held immense weight, and his prestige overshadowed everything.

This elder, who was such a significant figure, was now proposing a sworn brotherhood with this young man and even wanting his unborn children to be Li Feng’s godchildren.

This was simply scandalous.

And clearly, this was not the end; it seemed like the chairman was planning to make this newly sworn brother the Regent King of Century Group.

Fortunately, because of the previous incident with Dongfang Ding, he had not impulsively offended the man. Now, thinking back, he was grateful for his own caution, and it was also fortunate that Dongfang Ding usually acted high-handedly, or else he might have really fallen into a trap.

"Is it him?"

Wen Xiaofei, standing among the reporters, clenched her teeth as she watched Li Feng, her emotions surging wildly. She would recognize this man even if he turned to ashes.

On that cargo ship, this bastard had thrown her into the sea in front of so many people, which was utterly inhumane and cruel, a beast in human clothing, with neither conscience nor heart.

Wen Xiaofei heaped a series of idioms on Li Feng, but instead of feeling better, it brought back memories of her dreadful days, and she clenched her fists tightly.

On that cargo ship, this bastard could do whatever he wanted, but now here in Sea City, such scum should be punished by the law.

How could he be so smug and lucky?

"Xiao Fei, what’s going on?"

"You keep watching here; I’m stepping out for a bit but will be right back." Wen Xiaofei turned and left the scene, determined to see this bastard punished.

Among the crowd, Dongfang Ding was also grinding his teeth. "Dad, this is the guy who hit me."

"I was wondering who gave him the guts to hit me, turns out he had backing."

"Oh."

Dongfang Wenzheng, upon hearing his son’s words, couldn’t help but squint and scrutinize Li Feng, who was up there becoming sworn brothers with Chen Qinian.

The man was quite young, in his twenties, around the same age as his son. Chen Qinian, a cunning old fox, was actually lowering his face to form a sworn brotherhood with such a youngster, even planning to entrust Century Group, his wife, and even his unborn child to him.

This was getting interesting.

He had dealt with Chen Qinian all his life and knew full well Chen Qinian’s capabilities; he wouldn’t make such a groundbreaking decision without a reason.

But he had made it, which meant there definitely was a reason.

"Do you know him?"

Dongfang Wenzheng turned to look at his son, and Dongfang Ding hesitated briefly, then said with a menacing tone, "Who cares who he is, if he dared to hit me, he won’t have good days ahead."

Dongfang Wenzheng sighed slightly; even though he had been wise all his life, how had he raised such a thoughtless son.

"Ding, if you continue to be so unprogressive, Chen Qinian’s current plight might very well be what I face in the future."

Dongfang Ding did not expect his father to suddenly say that. "Dad, I didn’t do anything wrong!"

Dongfang Wenzheng looked sternly at Dongfang Ding. "I’ve taught you many times. You must not blindly be arrogant. Always think before you act and don’t let anger cloud your judgment."

"But what about you? Right now, all you think about is how to regain your face. Is face that important?"

"Do you understand him?"

"You know who your Uncle Chen is. He’s willing to form a sworn brotherhood with someone as young as you, even entrust his wife and child, hand over Century Group completely; if you had used your brain even a little, you wouldn’t have made such a thoughtless remark."

"Are you a thug from the streets, only knowing how to fight and seek vengeance?"

Dongfang Wenzheng scolded Dongfang Ding, whose heart was filled with anxiety as he nodded, "Dad, I know I was wrong, I let my emotions cloud my judgment."

"You’re right, I’ll seriously look into this and regain our ground," Dongfang Ding said.

Dongfang Wenzheng glanced at Dongfang Ding and finally hummed in agreement, somewhat satisfied that his son was not beyond teaching.

Dongfang Ding’s gaze hardened as he stared at Li Feng on the stage, bowing before Guan Gong. It didn’t matter who you were or where you came from; you were doomed. His father had been eyeing Century Group for more than just a day or two, but with Uncle Chen still alive, they couldn’t make a move.

But as soon as Uncle Chen was gone, who in Century Group could possibly stop his father from devouring it?

Those worthless Chen Family members? They would be the first to sell out Century Group when the time came.

As for Chen Muyang.

Ha.

Dongfang Ding knew Chen Muyang all too well; he was supposed to be his good brother. He knew exactly what kind of person Muyang was—a psychologically warped freak. On the surface, he appeared normal, but the deeds he committed behind the scenes were even despised by him.

Dongfang Ding squinted at Li Feng, thinking to let him gloat for now. Once he had thoroughly investigated Li Feng’s background, he would see how he’d deal with him.

Dongfang Ding thought to himself, but his gaze unwittingly drifted towards Han Xue beside him. Uncle Chen’s young wife was indeed delicate and lovely—it was no wonder his "good brother" had always wanted to get his hands on her.

Was the child in her belly really Uncle Chen’s?

After all, Uncle Chen was well into his sixties—having a child now would be challenging, not to mention the timing was quite convenient.

"The ceremony is complete."

Zhao Hai exclaimed, and on stage, Li Feng helped Chen Qinian rise and sit back into his wheelchair. Chen Qinian coughed twice and silence fell over the venue once more.

"Now to announce the third matter."

"Li Feng’s Myth Communication will form a strategic partnership with Century Group, and he will also take on the role of a director at Century Group."

Chen Qinian did not promote Li Feng directly to chairman but decided to play it slow. After all, Li Feng had no basis for serving as chairman just yet, and some tasks only he could perform.

"Myth?"

"What company is this?"

"I’ve never heard of it."

The crowd murmured among themselves, clearly unimpressed by Myth Communication’s reputation, or even considering it insignificant, especially compared to Century Group, otherwise, they would have heard of it.

"I think the chairman must be confused, could he have been coerced by the other party?"

"Yes, although the chairman had been bedridden before, now he seems fine as if nothing was wrong. There’s something weird going on."

"This Myth Communication seems to be just a low-tier public relations company."

"Yes, it doesn’t even rank in the top ten in its industry, and I heard that the company underwent sudden management changes recently, forcing out a partner and losing most of its employees afterward."

"Oh?"

"Don’t look at me like that, the partner who was forced out, Jiang Yu, is a good friend of mine. We were dining together when he predicted that the company wouldn’t last much longer."

"Oh, right. And remember the recent high-profile clover incident? They hired this company for public relations afterwards."

"A low-tier public relations company, what good can they do?"

"This is even luckier than stepping in dog shit, where does this guy get his luck?"
