Chapter 308: Chapter 308: One on One or Group Fight

"Master Kang, this kid is just a rabble-rouser. I’ll make sure to teach him a good lesson later."

Zhao Xiaoxiao looked at Kang Yu with a bitter face.

Kang Yu looked at Zhao Xiaoxiao’s worried face and laughed out loud, "I never thought there’d be anything capable of troubling our Manager Zhao."

Jile was the biggest nightclub under Kang Yu’s control, and naturally, the manager of such a place was one of Kang Yu’s trusted aides. Zhao Xiaoxiao might seem like a jovial, plump man who always had a smile for everyone, but in this circle, he was nicknamed Smiling Buddha.

Anyone who took this chubby man for an easy target, ready to be bullied, was sorely mistaken.

Kang Yu burst into laughter and turned to Li Feng, "You go and fight. If you really have the skills, for such a trivial matter as a woman, I’ll let you have different ones every day."

"Those are your words."

Li Feng’s eyes lit up, staring at Kang Yu.

"A man’s word is his bond," he declared.

"I said it," Kang Yu confirmed.

Li Feng grunted in response, turned, and walked into the crowd, arrogantly sweeping his gaze over the surrounding security and thugs as he stretched his muscles.

"Will it be a one-on-one fight or a group brawl? Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance."

"Hmph, kid, don’t get too cocky."

A stocky enforcer sneered disdainfully at Li Feng’s arrogance. Li Feng immediately turned and faced him.

"Is this what you call arrogance?"

"You haven’t seen me truly show off. I say one-on-one, it’s just me against all of you. And for a brawl, I’ll take on all of you alone."

Before his words had even finished, Li Feng dashed towards the enforcer with the speed of an arrow. The enforcer, seeing Li Feng lunge at him, swung his palm with a whooshing wind towards Li Feng.

Li Feng snorted coldly, raised his hand, and grabbed the enforcer’s wrist, "Child’s play."

After saying that, he turned his body in close, hooked his arm around the enforcer’s neck, and executed a shoulder throw.

The opposing force of momentum and the throw not only caught the enforcer off guard, but he also found himself flying through a 180-degree spin in the air.

With a thud, the enforcer hit the ground back first, feeling as if all his internal organs had shifted. Gasping in a cold breath of air, before he could finish, Li Feng’s foot stomped on his shoulder.

Crack.

Li Feng had twisted and broken the enforcer’s arm.

"Ah!" The enforcer let out a scream of agony.

"Weakling," Li Feng said as he lifted his eyes, looking rebelliously around. He raised his hand and crooked his finger, "Come at me all at once, you worthless snacks."

"Manager Zhao, your nephew sure can fight," Kang Yu squinted his eyes as he watched Li Feng fend off attackers left and right, seemingly invincible. He couldn’t help but turn to Zhao Xiaoxiao.

Zhao Xiaoxiao exhaled, "Master Kang, you might not know, but my family hails from Cangzhou. Several generations before me practiced martial arts; I am the least successful one."

"My nephew may be domineering and think he’s above the world, but it’s not without reason. This kid has been a martial arts prodigy from a young age, and my big brother started training him since he was very little. By the time he was seventeen or eighteen, he had already surpassed my brother and could no longer be bested by him."

"That’s why he’s become even more proud. To make things worse, he’s the legitimate successor of the Zhao Family. Recently, this kid nearly crippled a local official’s son. Our family couldn’t suppress the issue, so we had to let him come out and cool his head."

"I was planning to let him follow you, Master Kang, just to lay low for a bit. But given what I’ve seen today, forget it. This kid is a troublemaker and he might just end up annoying you."

Kang Yu didn’t reply, only turned his gaze towards the ongoing brawl.

In the midst of their conversation, Li Feng had already knocked down half the men, and he was only getting stronger. The thugs and security were no match for him, completely crushed without a chance to fight back.

"Bai Lang, how does this guy measure up to the bodyguards by my side?"

Kang Yu turned to Bai Lang. Bai Lang knew that Master Kang was interested in keeping this kid around upon hearing the question.

"Master Kang, this kid..."

"I’m just asking about his skills," Kang Yu fixed his gaze on Bai Lang.

"He is very skilled, but after all, the kid isn’t a professional..."

Kang Yu waved his hand, interrupting Bai Lang, "I already have enough professionals. I don’t need any more professional bodyguards."

His performance clearly revealed he was an outspoken person who couldn’t hide things; such a person was undeniably easy to use. He only needed to be given some favors, and he would naturally become loyal.

"Zhao Xiaoxiao, take your nephew to my private room."

Kang Yu didn’t stay in the lobby but turned and left with his entourage. Li Feng caught sight of Kang Yu’s departure from the corner of his eye.

"Hey, the one trying to weasel out, stop right there."

Li Feng yelled out, but he was quickly restrained by the bloodied security and enforcers. After all, in front of Master Kang, they couldn’t afford to look too weak.

Kang Yu vanished from the lobby, and Zhao Xiaoxiao’s face darkened, turning toward the hall, "Enough."

Li Feng punched another man to the ground, and despite their resentment, no one dared to continue. Manager Zhao wasn’t a kind soul himself.

"Come here."

Zhao Xiaoxiao turned and walked away with his hands behind his back. Li Feng glanced at the enforcer before him, "Not convinced? We can continue another day."

Li Feng left arrogantly.

"Do you want to get me killed? Could you not have given me a heads-up before coming? To start a brawl right in the lobby and to be caught by Master Kang of all people."

Zhao Xiaoxiao growled at Li Feng, filled with regret. But there was no such thing as regret medicine in this world.

Li Feng seemed indifferent, "What did Kang Yu say to you just now?"

Zhao Xiaoxiao hummed, "You’re lucky. Master Kang has invited you to his private room. You might just have landed on your feet this time, and if nothing goes wrong, he might keep you by his side. However, knowing him, he will most definitely conduct a secret investigation."

"I don’t actually have a nephew like you; it’ll be easy to slip up."

"You needn’t worry about that; arrangements will be made. Now take me to see this Master Kang."

Zhao Xiaoxiao glanced at Li Feng, knowing he had no choice – with his hands in the Hidden Guard’s grips. Of course, he only saw Li Feng as one of Hai’s men, mistaking this for an internal strife, each seizing opportunities to gain an advantage.

"Master Kang, do you really want to keep him close? Although he’s Zhao Xiaoxiao’s nephew, it might be best to check him out."

Bai Lang didn’t want to say anything in Zhao Xiaoxiao’s presence, but now he felt free to speak his mind.

"Sure, but do it discreetly. Don’t want to give Manager Zhao the wrong idea."

"Oh, and by the way, send over a few girls later. If this kid loves the ladies, let’s see how he holds up."
