After a short while,

Chu Shiyu was the first to come out of the bedroom, sat down on the living room couch, and looked up at Li Feng, "I want to go find my brother."

"Do you know where your brother would go to look for you?"

Chu Shiyu bit her lip and nodded, "I know, my brother will definitely go back home to find us."

"Then let’s go, we’ll find your brother first."

Li Feng didn’t dawdle and stood up from the couch, when the bedroom door was pushed open again, Jiang Linda came out: "I’m going too."

"You’re going as well?"

Li Feng looked at Jiang Linda, who had changed back into her professional attire, and she was blushing slightly under his gaze.

"Do you think I dare to stay at home alone right now?" Jiang Linda, though strong-willed, was still a woman. She had just been "kidnapped" in her own home and was still not over the shock. She didn’t dare to stay there by herself.

Li Feng shrugged his shoulders, and the three of them went straight downstairs.

"What’s all this in your car?"

Jiang Linda pulled open the door of the business vehicle, only to find that there was almost no space left to sit. Li Feng said, "Oh, money!"

"Money?"

"Can’t you understand money?"

"All of this?"

Jiang Linda, looking baffled, stared at the suitcases filling the car, while Li Feng, seeing that she still didn’t believe him, took one of the cases and opened it right in front of her.

Jiang Linda gulped, "You robbed a bank or something?"

She looked at the number of cases in the car, the last two rows of seats were folded down and still filled up, wondering how much money that could be.

"You couldn’t rob a bank and get this much money. You can’t sit in the back anymore, so why don’t you two sit in the front passenger seat?" Li Feng suggested.

Jiang Linda rolled her eyes, "Forget it, let’s just take my car."

Moments later, the three of them got into Jiang Linda’s Toyota and headed straight for the old district of Northern Sea City.

"My home is in this old alley."

Chu Shiyu pointed to an alley that obviously couldn’t be entered by car. Li Feng parked on the side of the road, and the three of them got out of the car.

The streetlight flickered eerily, and the old buildings all around were relics from the last century. Despite their dilapidation, the houses here were still not something just anyone could afford.

"Shiyu."

No sooner had they walked into the alley than a figure burst out from a dark corner, and Li Feng immediately blocked the way.

"Brother!"

"It’s me, you little rogue, where did you go? Why did you change your phone number? When I came home, someone else was living in our house. Where did you and Dad go?" Chu Binghe fired questions like a machine gun.

"Brother, Dad’s in the hospital, I had to sublet our house."

"Dad’s in the hospital? What’s wrong? Is it serious?"

Li Feng watched the reunited siblings and coughed, "Can we find somewhere brighter to talk?"

A short while later, they left the alley and got back into the car.

"Are you my sister’s boyfriend?"

Chu Binghe, sitting in the front passenger seat, looked at Li Feng, "How did you come out of there?"

"Are you sure you want to discuss this here?"

Li Feng glanced at Chu Binghe who, suppressing his curiosity, didn’t inquire further. Li Feng drove straight to a hotel and booked two rooms.

"You and your sister surely have a lot to talk about, you go ahead. You come with me." Li Feng handed a room card to Chu Binghe, turned to glance at Jiang Linda, and opened the door of the opposite room.

"Come in."

Jiang Linda, biting her lip, looked warily at Li Feng as he entered the room, "What are you going to do?"

Li Feng turned back to look at Jiang Linda and closed the door behind him, then pinned her against the wall with ease and flirted, "What do you guess?"

Jiang Linda was breathing a bit quickly, "Li Feng, don’t mess around, you have a girlfriend."

Li Feng leaned in, with Jiang Linda’s face burning red and Li Feng’s breath on her, she instinctively closed her eyes.

"You’re thinking too much."

Li Feng blew a breath in Jiang Linda’s ear and turned to walk into the room, "You’ve seen it, those two siblings have gotten into a bit of trouble. Although I don’t really want to get involved, I am involved now."

"Your home isn’t that safe now either, I guess you wouldn’t dare live alone."

"What are you trying to say?"

Jiang Linda bit her lip. What was he hinting at?

"Here’s the deal, how about I give you both a paid leave, with a bonus one-month trip overseas? You two go abroad and have fun for a month, and by the time you come back, things should have settled down."

Jiang Linda blinked twice.

"Really?"

Li Feng hummed in affirmation, "Consider it a benefit for you. It just so happens the company needs renovating, but be ready to be bossed around by me when you come back."

"If that’s fine with you, you can book the tickets tonight."

"Ding dong."

Just then, the door was knocked. Li Feng walked over to open it, and Chu Shiyu stood there, looking pretty as a picture.

"Did I interrupt you?"

Li Feng couldn’t be bothered to explain, "You’ve finished catching up already?"

"I came to thank you, to thank you for helping us so much." Chu Bing He looked at Li Feng.

Li Feng glanced at Chu Bing He, "Come in first."

"I was just discussing with Jiang Linda. Your brother has gotten into a fair amount of trouble, so the issue is far from over, which is why I’m giving you both a month off, paid, to go on a trip abroad."

"Ah, a trip abroad? No, I can’t go. What about my dad?"

Chu Shiyu immediately shook her head; how could she leave at a time like this?

Chu Bing He looked at Li Feng and placed a hand on Chu Shiyu’s shoulder, "Shiyu, just listen to him. Dad will be okay; I’ll be here."

"But..."

"No buts, that settles it."

Chu Bing He said decisively.

"Can we step out to talk for a moment?" Chu Bing He raised his eyes to Li Feng, who shrugged his shoulders and left the room.

Chu Bing He patted Chu Shiyu’s shoulder and followed out, going directly downstairs to the hotel. Li Feng took out a pack of cigarettes and offered one to Chu Bing He, who accepted it.

"Even though I don’t know why you’re helping us so much, I still have to thank you."

Chu Bing He exhaled smoke, staring at Li Feng.

"You really should thank me."

Li Feng didn’t mince words; he could have ignored Chu Shiyu’s problems, but he felt a bit of pity, which brought him trouble of his own that he didn’t mind.

If his life had remained as calm as before, it seemed he wouldn’t have been able to bear it.

Today, at the Bird Cage, the blood in his veins felt alive again; maybe his previous choice was the mistake.

An ordinary life didn’t suit him.

Chu Bing He looked at the candid Li Feng, "Can I ask you for a favor?"

"Can you take care of my sister?" Chu Bing He seemed resolute, and Li Feng glanced at Chu Bing He’s solemn face.

"Entrusting me to look after your sister, are you, passing the buck?" Li Feng smiled lightly at Chu Bing He.

"I suppose so."

Chu Bing He exhaled smoke, "My mom is an idiot, sold off by her own brother and she doesn’t even know it. That Lan Shao, the guy you saw in the private room before, he took a liking to my sister."

"They saddled me with a ton of debt and lured me away to make money elsewhere. I damn well did what they wanted, and it turned out to be a trap from start to finish."

"I won’t let them get away with it."

"On top of that, unless the root of the problem is dealt with, trouble will come wave after wave, and no one can escape, so he has to die."

Chu Bing He turned to face Li Feng, "Promise me, I leave my sister in your care, and I will put an end to all this."

Li Feng looked at the man entrusting his care and spoke blandly.

"That Lan Shao you mentioned, he’s already dead."
