Chapter 263: Is Arrogance a Crime?

Chapter 263: Chapter 263: Is Arrogance a Crime?

"How come you all are out already?"

Outside the Myth Communication building, a Mercedes-Benz was parked on the street. Seeing her relatives coming out, Han Xue’s mother pushed open the car door and stepped out.

The group saw Han Xue’s mother and immediately began speaking all at once.

"The head of the family, the old lady upstairs just killed someone, and I’m afraid this has gotten really serious."

Han Xue’s mother was stunned for a second, "Mom killed someone? What happened?"

"The head of the family, you have to stand up for me; I was sticking my neck out for your family’s affairs. Now that there is trouble, you can’t ignore us old folks."

"Mom, what exactly happened?"

"What else could have happened? The Li Feng that you were looking for came back, got into a fight with Second Dog and a few of his brothers, even your Second Aunt got kicked by him. That’s when your mom lost it, grabbed a cane and charged at him."

"Who would have thought, the other party didn’t even dodge—your mom’s cane hit right on the other person’s forehead, and they fell backwards on the spot. Your Third Aunt went over to check and the person was already breathless, the heart stopped beating."

On hearing this, Han Xue’s mother sharply inhaled a breath of cold air.

At this point, she also lost her previous composure, "Are you sure, the person is dead?"

"The head of the family, you can’t neglect this matter; we’re all doing this to help you," the old lady said mournfully, grabbing Han Xue’s mother’s arm.

"I told you to make a fuss, but I didn’t tell you to kill anyone."

Han Xue’s mother also became flustered.

"Head’s wife, what do you mean by that? Are you going to turn your back on us now? If the police really come to arrest me, I’ll definitely say it was you who instructed me to do it. What have I got to fear as an old lady in my late seventies?"

"Exactly, the head of the family, don’t even think about passing the blame. We were all acting on your orders."

"A resurrection?"

"It is a resurrection." Jin Beibei looked at Li Feng with gritted teeth as he embraced Wang Jin’er, snacking away. This guy was simply a beast—no, worse than a beast.

Wang Jin’er struggled with her hands to push Li Feng away, her face flushing red as she looked at him: "You tricked me."

Li Feng blinked, looking at Wang Jin’er who was on top of him.

"How did I trick you?"

Wang Jin’er bit her lip, staring at an innocent-looking Li Feng: "You’re perfectly fine; you were just pretending just now. I can’t believe I actually fell for it. I’m such a fool."

Thinking about it, it was impossible, how could he have been killed by an old lady.

She was really stupid to have actually believed his nonsense.

Of course, Li Feng would never admit to it: "What’s wrong with me? I don’t know what happened just now, all I remember is being hit on the head by that old lady with a stick, and the next thing I saw when I opened my eyes was you kissing me."

"Uh!"

Li Feng said, stretching his hand to cover his head, feigning pain, "My head is so dizzy."

"Do we still need to call an ambulance?"

Liu Xue looked at the resurrected Li Feng; she knew it, how could he have been killed by an old lady, that’s just unscientific.

"What’s there to call for?" Jin Beibei said through gritted teeth, knowing that anyone with a brain could tell this guy was just playing dead. She didn’t expect him to be so professional at scamming.

Hearing the conversation between Jin Beibei and Liu Xue, Wang Jin’er’s face turned a shade of red as she quickly scrambled off Li Feng—her previous position was not very ladylike.

"Li Feng, your acting is so good, it’s a pity not to get an award for it."

Jin Beibei said with cold mockery.

Li Feng, lying on the ground, turned his head towards Jin Beibei; those police woman legs are truly long: "What do you mean acting? I was really knocked unconscious by her."

Jin Beibei snorted coldly, as if she would believe that.

"Now that you’re okay, come with us," Jin Beibei said as she took out handcuffs and approached him. Li Feng rolled his eyes.

"You need a reason to arrest me."

"Kidnapping, does that count?"

Jin Beibei looked at Li Feng and said, with Li Feng sitting up straight, "I kidnapped someone? Who did I kidnap? If you don’t give me a perfect explanation, I might sue you for defamation."

Jin Beibei snorted coldly through her pert nose.

"The group just now was Han Xue’s relatives; they’ve already reported to the police. They clearly said that you kidnapped her and hid her."

"You’re trying to deny it?"

Jin Beibei looked at Li Feng, "Get up, if you dare resist, I’ll charge you with obstructing justice, add another offense to your charge. If you dare to fight back, hmph."

Li Feng simply lay back down on the ground, "Headache."

Jin Beibei was furious, looking at Li Feng playing possum, she couldn’t help bursting with anger, "Li Feng, get up. Don’t think you can escape by acting like this, I’m not joking with you."

Wang Jin’er coughed from the side.

"Officer Jin, I think there’s a misunderstanding here, we couldn’t have kidnapped Han Xue."

"Whether there was a kidnapping will be clear once we bring the person back," Jin Beibei retorted sharply.

"Li Feng, are you even a man?"

"I don’t care to waste words with you; do you have any evidence to arrest me? Just because someone said I kidnapped her, you’re going to take me away? Ha."

"Then I could say you’re planning to kidnap me too, I might as well call the police too, right?"

"Moreover, to constitute a kidnapping, the person has to be missing for at least a day, otherwise, you can’t even file a case."

"Besides, to take me away, do you have an arrest warrant?"

Li Feng sat up with a kip-up, locking eyes with Jin Beibei, standing his ground, "If you don’t want me to file a complaint, there’s the door."

"You!"

Jin Beibei was rendered speechless by Li Feng’s counterattack. The situation was entirely one-sided according to the Han family, and it wasn’t clear if Li Feng had really kidnapped Han Xue.

This case hadn’t been filed yet. They were tracking Li Feng because it involved him, but to actually take someone to the station was clearly against the rules.

"Don’t let the door hit you on the way out," said Li Feng.

"Li Feng, don’t be too arrogant," Jin Beibei couldn’t resist saying as she watched Li Feng turn his back.

Li Feng twisted his head back to look at Jin Beibei.

"I am arrogant, is that illegal?"

"I—"

"Beibei, calm down, we really can’t take him away now," Liu Xue hugged the about-to-explode Jin Beibei; before an official case, Li Feng wasn’t even a suspect.

"I really want to strangle him," Jin Beibei said through clenched teeth.

Liu Xue glanced at Li Feng walking away, her friend was livid. But truth be told, Li Feng was indeed infuriating.

He had already tricked Beibei once at the mall, and now he was giving them attitude, enough to annoy anyone.

"What, Chen Muyang has been hospitalized?"

Han Xue’s mother panicked and quickly had the driver take her to the hospital. Upon arrival, she saw Chen Muyang.

"Doctor, is there anything wrong with Chen Muyang?"

"Who are you to him?"

"I’m his step-grandmother," said Han Xue’s mother. The doctor glanced at the still-charming woman.

"His condition isn’t good; his lower body is shattered and needs surgery. It’s very likely it won’t be saved. We need a family member’s signature for the surgery; you sign it."

"Wait, what do you mean by it won’t be saved, are you saying he...?"

"Hmm, we will do our best, but we need to operate as soon as possible."
