Chapter 25: Chapter 25 Overturning the Table
The waiter brought each dish to the table one by one, and amid the disruption caused by Zhang Xue, Wang Jin’er didn’t take the initiative to speak up, and Li Feng couldn’t be bothered to respond. He consumed the food on the table like a whirlwind, with a speed that left Wang Jin’er utterly astonished.
"Look at him, acting like he’s never seen the world."
Zhang Xue sat at a nearby table, sneering disdainfully, while Qi Shaobin on the opposite side dabbed at his mouth with a napkin and glanced at Li Feng.
"After all, he’s just from the lower classes, No matter how much he pretends, he can’t change his loser nature. Besides, Snow Snow, since you’ve exposed him, he probably doesn’t even bother to pretend anymore."
Zhang Xue hummed from her sculpted nose.
"He deserves it."
Zhang Xue secretly gritted her teeth in hatred. This man, who used to grovel before her like a dog, dared to betray her. She was furious to the core. If it weren’t for her feeding and caring for him over the last two years, he would be nothing.
"Hmph, even if he ran off to Jin City, didn’t we still catch him? This time, I’d like to see where he can hide," Shaobin said coldly, glancing at Li Feng, already plotting in his mind.
"I’m full."
Li Feng picked up his glass of red wine and downed it in one go.
"Ah, oh, I’m done, too."
Wang Jin’er had eaten less than half of her steak, put down her knife and fork, and Li Feng put down his wine glass, looked at Wang Jin’er, "Don’t hurry off, you can finish eating at your leisure, I’m going to handle something and will be right back."
"Hm?"
Wang Jin’er looked up in surprise just as Li Feng stood up from his seat and headed straight for the nearby table. It seemed to be his ex-wife sitting there. What was he planning to do?
"Jin’er, don’t worry about it, let’s see what he’s going to do."
Shen Yanran’s voice came through the Bluetooth earpiece, urging caution.
Li Feng walked up to the table where Qi Shaobin and Zhang Xue were seated. Zhang Xue sensed his approach and coldly turned her head to stare at Li Feng.
"Li Feng, what are you doing here? What, has that beauty seen right through you and you’re throwing a tantrum?"
Shaobin sneered coldly.
"Mr. Li, mind your manners. This is a high-end place," Shaobin said, his eyes brimming with scorn. He knew Li Feng’s background all too well, having been Zhang Xue’s live-in son-in-law for two years, living almost like a servant.
The most ridiculous part was that, in those two years, Zhang Xue hadn’t let him touch her once. In front of her, he was so lowly that he hardly counted as a man.
Li Feng picked up a bottle of red wine from the table.
"Li Feng, this is a ’91 Latour, worth over a hundred thousand for a bottle. Do you think you’re worthy?"
"Do I?"
Li Feng poured himself a glass, then his grasp on the bottle loosened.
Bang.
The wine bottle fell and shattered on the floor.
Shaobin’s brow furrowed, "Li Feng, what are you trying to...!" Before Qi Shaobin could finish, Li Feng had splashed the glass of red wine in Shaobin’s face.
"Li Feng, have you lost your mind?"
Zhang Xue made a move to stand, but Li Feng grabbed the edge of the heavy wooden table and flipped it over in one go. Zhang Xue barely got up before she was forced to sit back down.
Li Feng turned and reached out to grab Qi Shaobin by the tie, pulling him close and slapping him across the face.
Slap.
The slap resonated, drawing the attention and shock of everyone around.
"I’ve tolerated you for a long time without finding the chance to beat you up, and yet you dare strut around in front of me."
Li Feng pressed closely against Qi Shaobin’s face, forcing out each word through clenched teeth.
"I won’t be polite then."
Li Feng delivered a direct knee strike, and Qi Shaobin bent over like a shrimp, followed by an elbow from Li Feng that smashed into the back of Qi Shaobin’s skull and neck.
Thump.
Qi Shaobin fell flat on his face, and Li Feng pressed his foot onto Qi Shaobin’s face: "Think you’re tough for cuckolding me?"
"Do you have delusions? Do you really think you can bully me at will, that even if you slept with my wife, I would endure in silence, not daring to make a peep, let alone fawn over you?"
Li Feng rubbed his foot against Qi Shaobin’s face.
"Qi Shaobin, I can responsibly tell you that if the Sihai Group can’t make it through this year, you’ll be destitute, drowning in debt, and the rooftop of the Sihai Tower will be your end."
"Li Feng, let go of my husband."
Zhang Xue got up and rushed forward, attempting to slap Li Feng in the face, but Li Feng caught her wrist: "I warned you right at the entrance of the marriage registry office, you’re no longer my wife."
"Don’t you understand?"
With a flick of his hand, Li Feng sent Zhang Xue stumbling to the ground: "Li Feng, what are you so arrogant about, you bootlicker, you worthless coward? Just wait for our revenge."
Zhang Xue glared at Li Feng with venom.
Li Feng looked at Zhang Xue with a sneer: "I’ll be waiting, but I’m afraid you and he will end up burying yourselves before that day comes."
"Sir, you can’t leave yet."
At this moment, the restaurant manager arrived on the scene with security guards, and seeing Li Feng about to walk away, they immediately blocked his path.
"Your personal issues are not my concern, and the police should handle them, but you need to compensate for the damaged tables and chairs in our restaurant, and your actions have also severely tarnished our restaurant’s reputation. We reserve the right to prosecute you for this."
"Additionally, for the disturbance caused to other customers, we will offer them complimentary meals as compensation, and you will be responsible for those costs."
"The total cost will be 1,273,800 yuan."
Security guards, cracking their knuckles, stepped forward to encircle Li Feng.
Zhang Xue helped Qi Shaobin up and looked coldly at the surrounded Li Feng, her lips curling in a sneer: "Pah, over a million yuan. He couldn’t even cover it if he sold both kidneys."
"Jin’er, what are you doing?"
"Hey, you’re not thinking of paying for him, are you? Miss, we should be kind, but there needs to be a limit, okay? Let dogs bite dogs; why bother with them? This is a perfect opportunity to call off the engagement."
"I will pay the money."
Wang Jin’er removed her Bluetooth earpiece, stepped forward, and said to the restaurant manager: "I’m a member. I will cover all the damages to your establishment."
The restaurant manager turned to Wang Jin’er, glanced at the card she handed over, and thought to himself how such a stunningly beautiful woman could fall for such a vulgar man, even willing to spend money to bail him out.
"Hey, are you stupid? To spend money on someone like him, have you fallen under the spell of Love Potion?"
Zhang Xue looked at Wang Jin’er. Her attire was simple, but she exuded an aura that was clearly not that of a common girl—possibly, she might even belong to a wealthy family. Moreover, to be able to produce a Second-Star membership card was a symbol of status in itself.
This card could be used in stores globally to enjoy member benefits.
"Is there a problem?"
Wang Jin’er looked at the restaurant manager, who shook his head: "If you insist on compensating for him, there is no issue."
"Wait."
Li Feng suddenly called out to the departing restaurant manager and took back Wang Jin’er’s membership card and handed it to her.
"Before we’re engaged, you’re not yet my fiancée. You don’t have the right to meddle in my affairs."
