Chapter 212: Chapter 212: I Set the Rules

Hai Lang’s heart hardened when he heard Li Feng’s words, as it was clear the other party had no intention of letting him live. As a mercenary, he was used to licking blood off the edge of a knife.

He had felt fear before, and only after escaping death twice did Hai Lang give in to his fear of death, choosing to return to Yan Country and live under a pseudonym. But he couldn’t just be an ordinary person and live an ordinary life.

So, here he was now.

He had escaped before, and now he wasn’t about to go to his death obediently.

"You say I violated the command, but what about you? What do you call your actions today? No bullying the weak, and yet you hit the security guard and then these unarmed people. Haven’t you violated the orders?"

Hai Lang stiffened his neck and looked Li Feng in the eye.

Li Feng looked at Hai Lang, then suddenly turned up the corners of his mouth and laughed, "I thought you’d pull out your dagger and fight with me to the death. I didn’t expect you to use your mouth to argue with me."

Hearing Li Feng’s words, Hai Lang’s face burned with shame. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to take action, but his previous attempt had shown him that fighting would surely lead to his death. He was no match for Li Feng even in his prime, let alone now with internal injuries, one arm rendered useless. What did he have to fight with?

His life?

He had long since lost the courage to stake his life on it, otherwise why would he have fled back to Yan Country? It was a mercenary’s fate to die in battle.

Hai Lang stared at Li Feng, "You can kill me, but you are also breaking the command. Aren’t you afraid that the organization will come after you?"

Li Feng looked at Hai Lang, "You’re really quite cute."

Calling a girl cute was a compliment, but calling a grown man, especially a mercenary, cute was derogatory.

"Heh, I’m really not afraid."

Hai Lang sneered coldly, "You talk tough now, but if that organization comes after you, I’m afraid you won’t be so arrogant."

"It’s not arrogance, nor is it conceit."

"Because I’m the one who makes the rules, understand?" Li Feng leaned in, smiling, and looked at Hai Lang, who looked up woodenly at Li Feng.

"You made the rules?"

"Impossible?"

"Whether you believe it or not is your business, but since I’ve said it, you have to die. You know, breaking one’s own rules is a bit like slapping oneself in the face, so it’s better to destroy the body and erase the traces. That way, only heaven, earth, and I know. It’s all good as long as no one else knows."

"You see, aren’t I clever?"

Pah.

You’re such a damn bad egg.

Hai Lang didn’t care if the other party was joking anymore. He thought Li Feng was another mercenary and by using his own spear against him, he might have a chance at survival, but now it seemed hopeless.

Hai Lang’s left hand reached towards his heel, where a short dagger was hidden in his boot: "Die."

Suddenly, Hai Lang burst forth, clutching the dagger in his left hand and aiming straight for Li Feng’s stooping throat.

Li Feng seemed to have been prepared, standing up straight; the dagger only grazed the underside of his throat and missed.

"You’re really naughty."

Li Feng used a silver needle to pierce the temple, swiftly pulled it out, and Hai Lang’s body suddenly stiffened, his facial expression stopped, as if he had suddenly become foolish.

"Mr. Baili, it’s not good."

Manager Huang almost burst in without knocking, which made Baili Hai, who was riding on Tong Qian and about to enjoy himself, feel as disgusted as if he had swallowed a fly.

"Motherfucker, do you want to die?"

Interrupting in this critical moment was bound to upset anyone, and Manager Huang knew he had spoiled Mr. Baili’s moment, so he quickly said, "Mr. Baili, about Brother Lang..."

"What about Hai Lang?"

"Brother Lang couldn’t even handle that Li Feng. He didn’t withstand a single blow before he was dropped by the other party. Brother Lang is now kneeling and kowtowing to the other party, begging for mercy. Mr. Baili, what do we do now?"

Manager Huang blabbered on incoherently.

"What, Hai Lang lost?"

Manager Huang nodded repeatedly, "Mr. Baili, it’s more than just a loss; it was a complete defeat. With just one blow, Hai Lang had his arm twisted and got stepped on."

Baili Hai’s face changed abruptly, never expecting Hai Lang to kneel; after all, the other man had always been the fastest knife in his hand.

"Li Feng, Li Feng."

Suddenly, Baili Hai thought of something, "You said his name was Li Feng earlier."

Manager Huang kept nodding, "Yes, that’s right, Li Feng."

"Mr. Baili, have you heard of him?"

Baili Hai suddenly turned to face Tong Qian on the big bed, "Where did you say your classmate came from?"

Tong Qian was almost in a state of collapse. Hearing Baili Hai’s fierce questioning, she replied crying, "Huacheng, we’re all from Huacheng."

"Huacheng’s Hidden Dragon Li Feng."

"Motherfucker, so he is Huacheng’s Hidden Dragon Li Feng. I felt like I had heard of him somewhere." Baili Hai was a bit frenetic.

Manager Huang looked at Baili Hai, "Mr. Baili, you know him?"

Baili Hai took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down, "Of course, I know him. He’s the biggest patron daddy in Huacheng, a financial tycoon with tremendous wealth. Just how much money this guy has, no one knows, but in any case, he’s not someone to mess with."

Manager Huang suddenly took a sharp breath, "Ah."

Mr. Baili’s family was second-tier at the top in Sea City, with assets of over a hundred billion. If he said so, the opponent must be really rich.

"Mr. Baili, what do we do now? Shall we leave through the back door?" Manager Huang dared not go to the lobby again. Li Feng’s arrival was clearly a quest for revenge, and running into him was not a good thing.

The best plan is to make a getaway.

Baili Hai kicked Manager Huang over directly, "Get out, run. Can you outrun a temple even if you outrun a monk? Besides, this Heavenly Palace is my turf. I can’t just scoot away pathetically, what would others think of me?"

"Does Baili Hai still want to mix in this circle in the future?"

Manager Huang lay on the ground and didn’t dare make a sound. In any case, he was determined not to meddle anymore. Baili Hai’s eyes flickered indecisively.

"Get up, call two more girls in."

"Ah!"

Manager Huang stared at Baili Hai in astonishment. Even in this situation, did he really want to play a ’one dragon and two phoenixes’ game? Mr. Baili, you’re overdoing it.

Baili Hai saw Manager Huang on the ground and became angry, kicking him several times.

"Call them. Get her a bath, a change of clothes, and bring people to Ru Garden. Find a few more top-notch goods to come over, and I’ll say I’ll be there soon."
