Chapter 193: Chapter 193: Marvelous Skills

Clang, clang, clang.

The barely perceptible sound of metal clashing dissipated with the wind as the flying knives whisked past Li Feng’s body without so much as grazing a single hair on his head.

"Missed? How is that possible?"

The onlookers hiding in the distance were stunned; their brother with the infallible knives had never missed a shot, which had become a gold-standard reputation in Sea City.

Gulp.

Could it be that the man across from them was a master?

Yet Xiao Dao showed not a hint of surprise or shock because, in a sense, Li Feng was his guide, his mentor—even though Xiao Dao had wanted to become his disciple, but Li Feng had refused.

Indeed, his brother was truly his brother.

Far from being disheartened, Xiao Dao’s fighting spirit grew even stronger. He had been honing his knife-throwing skills for the past two years, all with the aim of defeating Li Feng one day.

Because Li Feng was the peak he could see before his very eyes. When he used to follow behind Li Feng as a lackey, he hadn’t realized it, but after struggling in Sea City for two years, Xiao Dao had come to understand just how powerful Li Feng really was.

Suddenly, Xiao Dao flung his overcoat back with a flick, and his hands, swift as shadows, drew arranged flying knives from his waist and tossed them with a flick of his wrist.

As the flying knife left his hand, Xiao Dao barely looked, his wrist flicked again, and another knife flew out.

Snap, snap, snap.

Xiao Dao’s knives were relentless, five in a blink of an eye forming a straight line—a string of stars, a skill from archery, but Xiao Dao had adapted it to the flying knife.

"Hisss, a string of stars."

"Brother Dao is mighty."

Almost as the crowd cheered, the knives were already approaching rapidly. Li Feng hadn’t expected Xiao Dao to actually use the technique he had casually mentioned. This kid really had talent.

This wouldn’t be like kicking a few bottle caps away as he had before; once you deflect one of the chain of knives, the second and third ones follow.

Li Feng made a split-second decision, stepping sideways to dodge.

Xiao Dao saw Li Feng’s movement and a smile spread across his face—Li Feng caught this subtle expression immediately. The kid had a trick up his sleeve.

In the time it takes to speak a word, the last knife in the chain struck with astonishing speed against the fourth, then the third, splitting their linear flight to the left and right, forming a ’品’ shape. Li Feng would be targeted by one of them whether he dodged left or right.

Incredible skill.

This kid was truly a genius.

Li Feng watched the cold gleam of the flying knives and reached out lightning-fast, plucking flowers and leaves from the air, the knives vanishing like they had entered another dimension, without a trace.

Xiao Dao blinked; he had failed again, still far from success. He shook his head.

"No more."

"No more," Xiao Dao said somewhat gloomily as he approached Li Feng, "I can’t believe my big move that I researched for so long was caught by you, Brother Feng, just like that."

Looking at Xiao Dao coming towards him, Li Feng rubbed his head and said, "You’ve really impressed me with your growth, kid. To think you’d come up with that and actually pull it off—you are undeniably a genius."

Xiao Dao smiled shyly.

"Heh, didn’t you teach me that, Brother Feng? I just practiced the way you told me to, and thought about it a little. But it’s not like I can do it every time; just now was me at my best."

Receiving Li Feng’s praise, Xiao Dao couldn’t hide a hint of pride; all his hard work was to earn that praise from Brother Feng.

The hardships of the past two years had not been in vain.

"My eyes, are they deceiving me?"

"You’re asking me? I want to ask you too, the nerve of that guy, petting Knife Bro’s head like he’s stroking a cat."

Everyone standing at a distance was utterly dumbstruck by this scene. This was their invincible Knife Bro, who swept through the twelve streets of Sea City, whose Flying Knife sent shockwaves through the north and south.

"Oh, right."

Knife Bro noticed the awkwardness himself, realizing he’s no longer a child. He quickly diverted attention, turning his head towards those behind him.

"Get over here."

Cao An and the others, upon hearing Knife Bro’s command, instinctively stepped forward.

"Knife Bro."

Several people called out to Knife Bro in unison. His presence was still formidable; of course, Knife Bro wasn’t trying to show off.

He pointed directly at Cao An, "Come here, kneel down and apologize."

"Ah!"

Cao An was completely stunned, itching to ask if Knife Bro had picked up the wrong script.

"What are you ’Ah’-ing about? If you still recognize me as your big bro, then come over and kneel to apologize." Knife Bro stared at Cao An, who clenched his teeth, darting his gaze back and forth between Knife Bro and Li Feng.

"Knife Bro, I won’t accept this. Why should I have to kneel and apologize to him?"

A dangerous glint flashed through Knife Bro’s eyes.

"Why? Because he’s my brother, and he’s the one who taught me the Flying Knife."

Cao An sharply turned to look at Li Feng.

This was like the ’Dragon King Temple getting flooded, fellow villagers no longer recognizing each other’. Cao An immediately tried to weasel out of it, "Like a flood hitting the Dragon King Temple, I’ve offended my brother..."

Before Cao An could finish his sentence, Li Feng had already kicked him squarely in the chest, sending him crashing to the ground, taken completely by surprise.

People around were a bit dumbfounded. Did this really need to be so merciless?

Li Feng stood coldly, observing Cao An as he struggled to get up, "Brother? Who are you calling brother?"

"Knife Bro is your boss, and you’re trying to buddy up to me. Are you aiming for a promotion?"

Li Feng’s comment was piercing. Knife Bro hesitated for a moment, "Feng Bro, I don’t think he meant it that way?"

Li Feng turned to Knife Bro, who was trying to make excuses for Cao An, "Knife Bro, if you’re going to run the streets and be the big boss, you can be good to your guys, but there’s one thing you can’t break, and that’s the rules."

"If something happens to your little brother, you’re the first one to come out and stand up for him. But did he listen to your orders? You’re the boss, not a nanny."

Li Feng patted Knife Bro on the shoulder, "I said too much. I’ve finished eating; I’m out of here."

Li Feng then turned and walked away, with Jiang Linda scurrying over to the car.

"Knife Bro."

Li Feng had left, but Knife Bro looked troubled and indecisive.

"Knife Bro, don’t be angry. You call him ’bro,’ and he really treats you like a little brother. Who does he think he is?"

One of Cao An’s underlings spoke out in righteous indignation.

Knife Bro suddenly looked up with a cold expression, "My brother is right; I’ve really been a failure as a boss."

"Do you all really think I’m blind and deaf? I have no clue about your sorry business? You treat me like a rag, useful for a moment and discarded when you’re done, right?"

Knife Bro exploded, kicking the outspoken thug.

"Today, I, Knife Bro, am making it clear to you all. Those willing to follow me, to listen to me, and to respect me as their boss, come with me. As for anyone who wants to bully using someone else’s name, to stir trouble, get lost right now."

Knife Bro swept his gaze coldly across the room and, with a sudden turn, strode away.
