Chapter 16: Chapter 16: It Doesn’t Matter If It’s Not Handled

Li Feng’s eyes turned cold as he grabbed Qi Shaobin’s wrist and kicked him in the lower abdomen, sending Qi Shaobin flying like a kite with its string cut.

"Ah!"

The female guests watching gasped in surprise, while the others sharply inhaled a breath of cold air. Zhang Xue had never imagined Li Feng would truly dare to strike.

"Li Feng, have you lost your mind? Do you realize who you’ve just hit?"

Zhang Xue looked at Li Feng with a fierce exterior but a nervous inside.

"Who is this guy anyway, crazy enough to hit Qi Family’s young master from Sihai?"

"That guy seems to be Qi Family’s young master’s love rival."

"To dare to oppose Sihai’s Qi young master, what does this man do? Why does he look unfamiliar to me?"

"Of course he’s unfamiliar, this person is the Zhang Family’s son-in-law who came through marriage. He’s been hidden and protected before; probably even the Zhang Family felt he wasn’t presentable. Now that the Zhang Family has attached itself to the Qi Family, they have naturally kicked their son-in-law to the curb."

"So that’s it, but what’s a son-in-law through marriage worth? Daring to hit Qi young master is like tempting fate, too long for life."

"Li Feng."

Qi Shaobin lay on the ground, his eyes filled with venom as he glared at Li Feng, who responded with a nonchalant expression, "You were the one who asked me to try. With such a strong request, I of course had to oblige."

The event organizer’s face darkened as he picked up the walkie-talkie, "Call security over. We have troublemakers here."

It wasn’t long before Outer Heaven’s security surged into the hall, led by a man in a crisply tailored suit who strode into the venue with a commanding presence.

"What’s the situation?"

"Manager Bai, we have troublemakers here. Please handle this situation."

"How could you be so impulsive, what do we do now?" Zhou Zhishan bit her lip and grasped at Li Feng’s sleeve. Now, as the target of public enmity, being ejected would mean the ultimate loss of face.

"Who is so bold as to cause trouble in Outer Heaven?"

Manager Bai’s authoritative presence shook as he turned to look at Li Feng.

Gulp.

"Manager Bai, this is the person, utterly uncouth, and even dared to hit Qi Family’s young master from Sihai. Please throw this man out."

The event organizer stared at Li Feng, sneering continuously.

Li Feng sneered dismissively at the other party, "This kind of fake charity that’s just for show is not worth attending anyway."

"Heh, who do you think you are, thinking this is your house?"

Li Feng glanced at the other party, sneered coldly, and turned around, boldly wrapping his arms around Zhou Zhishan and walking towards the exit. The security guards in front of them parted to make way.

"Manager Bai, what are you waiting for? He actually hit Qi Family’s young master from Sihai."

The responsible person turned to look at Manager Bai, who did not move and watched Li Feng leave the hall. He sighed deeply and looked at the other party with a cold expression.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please disperse. Tonight’s event is canceled."

"Manager Bai, what do you mean by that? The event is canceled? But I’m in charge of this event."

Manager Bai looked at the frantic person and said, "You are in charge of the event, but the venue belongs to Outer Heaven."

"We have a contract, and you are just a security manager. What right do you have to do this?"

Manager Bai looked at the person with a mockingly, "You can discuss the contract with legal. I’m just here to handle things. Please escort the guests out with courtesy."

"Yes."

"You, you..."

Whew.

Zhou Zhishan patted her chest, "You scared me to death. If all those security guards really started something, getting thrown out from here would be utterly humiliating. And you, you really didn’t have to show off. I’ve heard of Sihai Real Estate; it is a major property group. And yet, you dared to lay hands on them. Did you really have to be so reckless?"

"Even if you don’t think about yourself, could you at least consider me for a change?"

Li Feng let go of Zhou Zhishan’s slender waist, "You’ve completed your task, you can leave now."

Zhou Zhishan was taken aback, and then she snapped back to reality.

"Hey, Li Feng, what do you mean by this? Nobody burns bridges after crossing the river as fast as you do. I’ve gotten into a whole mess because of you, and you won’t even let me complain a bit?"

Zhou Zhishan bit her lip, what a classless man.

Li Feng stopped in his tracks, "Not leaving? Do you really want to go upstairs to the hotel room with me?" Li Feng raised his hand and waved it off. Zhou Zhishan watched as Li Feng walked toward the elevator, grinding her teeth in frustration.

Am I not pretty enough, she thought, saying a few nice words won’t kill you.

Zhou Zhishan seethed with indignation, and suddenly turned around, she wasn’t that desperate. Even if you beg me next time, I won’t come out with you.

"Who exactly was that man who just left?"

"Didn’t they say he was Zhang Family’s son-in-law?"

"Pfft, a son-in-law, have you ever seen a son-in-law who could screw up a charity event with just one sentence? The security at Outer Heaven is insanely tough. Just the other day, some rich young guy got drunk and caused a scene at Outer Heaven, and the security threw him out just like that."

"Really?"

"Would I lie to you? I’m telling you, that guy who just left has a really complicated background."

Zhou Zhishan listened as the voices outside grew distant, and then she pushed open the bathroom door and came out. The charity event got disrupted?

Because of what Li Feng said?

Zhou Zhishan was beginning to understand; was he still that same brother-in-law, the one her roommate Zhang Xin described as a pathetic, groveling house husband?

Zhou Zhishan realized more as she thought about his dominance from the night before. Just who was he? Why couldn’t she see through him?

"Miss, we received a call from Outer Heaven. They’ve canceled our charity event."

"Canceled? Are you kidding me? It’s about to start. Why cancel it at this time, what are they playing at?"

"What exactly happened?"

"Miss, they said..." The assistant hesitated.

"Just spit it out, Sister Mei."

"They at Outer Heaven said that your pretentious fake charity event isn’t worth holding, that’s their exact words."

"What? How dare they say that, pretentious fake charity? I need to find them and get this straight, how is our event fake charity?"

"Yanran, calm down. Sister Mei, what exactly happened? Outer Heaven has always been very supportive of our charity work, even offering the venue for free, and lots of assistance. Why would they cancel suddenly and say those things?"

"I just called the person responsible for the event; it seems to be because of one person."

"Who?"

"Who is so bold? We’ve been many places and no one has dared to be so disrespectful."

Shen Yanran was ranting furiously.

"Sister Mei, is there something hard to say?"

"It seems to be because of a son-in-law."

Ding-dong, the elevator doors opened, and Shen Yanran was still seething with anger.

"A son-in-law? What, is he the owner of Outer Heaven’s son-in-law? When did a son-in-law become so arrogant? Does he not know who our Jin’er is? He dares to snub our face just because he’s a son-in-law?"

"Where’s the person in charge of Outer Heaven? I really want to ask them in person who this son-in-law is, to be so brazen."

Shen Yanran stomped her foot in fury. A man who marries into a family as a son-in-law dares to be this bold. Who gave him the courage?

"What are you looking at? Haven’t you seen a beautiful woman before?"
