Chapter 135: Chapter 135: The New Wave Drives the Old Wave

"It’s been a long time!"

"Indeed, it has been a long time."

Li Feng approached Chu Wei, and they immediately clasped hands. Shoulders collided, and in that moment, they seemed not like enemies but rather like intimately close comrades-in-arms.

"I was beginning to think you’d be a woman’s slave for life, but it seems my worries were unfounded," Chu Wei said with a slight smile as he looked at Li Feng.

Li Feng punched him lightly on the chest.

"I didn’t expect you to be under Long Ao."

Chu Wei shrugged.

"Even if you hadn’t killed him, I would have found an opportunity to do it myself. That old man took me as his adopted son and even spread the word that he wanted me to be his successor, huh."

Chu Wei chuckled derisively.

"He really thought I was some brainless fool. How could he possibly let me take his place? If I took over, where would his biological son stand?"

"Oh?"

"Let’s find some time to talk about this in detail. However, behind the Long Family lies a powerful backer. Getting rid of Long Ao might attract some trouble, so prepare yourself mentally," Chu Wei said, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose, a sly conspiracy flashing in his eyes.

Li Feng and Chu Wei briefly exchanged words. Understanding Chu Wei’s stance, he stepped over the corpses of the bodyguards and walked down the stairs, while Li Feng stepped towards the inner private room.

Chu Wei once had an inseparable relationship with Li Feng, also a bosom friend.

After Li Feng married Zhang Xue, he had hidden his previous background and identity, while Chu Wei wandered the world, never expecting such a reunion.

Li Feng pushed open the private room door and entered.

Long Ao looked up, seeing Li Feng come in and shifted his body.

"You don’t seem surprised?"

Li Feng looked at Long Ao.

Long Ao curled his lips into a cold smile, "I’ve always been confused as to why you killed my son, but seeing you now, I think I’m beginning to understand."

"Oh?"

Long Ao’s fierce eyes pinned down Li Feng.

"Huacheng’s Hidden Dragon, Li Feng, you were once very famous in Huacheng. Rumored to come from a big family in Jin City, I always thought you were quite skilled at making money, but it seems I underestimated you."

Li Feng didn’t rush to act but responded lightly while looking at Long Ao.

"Lord Long flatters me too much."

"Not at all a flattery. It’s said that you’re skilled in strategizing, a master chess player. Seeing you today, it truly lives up to the reputation that you’ve even managed to win over my adopted son."

"Heh, to think I had always trusted him so much, it turns out I’ve been raising a white-eyed wolf all this time. Just for that, I admire your reputation as Hidden Dragon."

Li Feng offered no explanation, he couldn’t say this was just a coincidence.

From his understanding of Chu Wei, he was someone who feared the world would not be chaotic, always restless and looking for thrills, always challenging the impossible to be possible.

Li Feng was content with the ordinary; Chu Wei was not.

They briefly went their separate ways, yet fate had inevitably brought them back together.

Li Feng shook his head.

"Now that Lord Long has thought it through, please go join your son. That way, he won’t be too lonely on the road to the netherworld."

"Ha ha, ha ha ha."

Long Ao suddenly burst out laughing, his fierce eyes gleaming sharp as he swept them towards Li Feng.

"Since I, Long Ao, started mixing in the streets at twelve, till today, forty years later, I’ve seen all sorts of storms, crossed all kinds of ditches."

"Many people have wanted me dead, but in the end, they all died by my hand."

Long Ao stood up from the couch, tearing off his shirt to reveal a muscular upper body. Li Feng glanced over his torso, which was nearly covered with knife scars, with at least six or seven that were lethal.

Long Ao stretched his limbs and gestured to Li Feng with a beckoning hand.

"Everyone thinks I’m old now, but they seem to forget that I earned my position today with these hands."

"Oh!"

Li Feng exclaimed, and suddenly sprung into action, launching towards Long Ao like a ghost. Long Ao grunted, his body crackling with a loud pop, and he met Li Feng’s charge head-on.

The two passed by each other in an instant.

A nano-fiber as thin as a cicada’s wing and as sharp as a knife wound around Li Feng’s neck, and Long Ao’s face revealed a sinister smile.

A tiger doesn’t show his power, and you really think I’m a sick cat.

This nano-fiber was incredibly tough, almost invisible to the eye and as fine as a silk thread. A single exertion of force could sever a man’s head completely.

Blood beads immediately began to flow from Li Feng’s neck where the nano-fiber sliced into his skin.

It seemed like in the next instant, Li Feng’s head would topple.

"Go to hell...?" Long Ao spoke coldly.

Hmm!

But in that split second, something unexpected happened.

Long Ao’s neck suddenly burst open as if the sky had torn, and before he could utter the rest of his sentence, blood gushed out under the unbearable pressure.

Long Ao sensed danger, trying to grab the nano-fiber to kill Li Feng, but his hands were completely immobile.

His gaze swept over his wrists, only to find that the arteries there had been severed without him noticing, blood flowing profusely.

Li Feng grabbed the ring from Long Ao’s finger and unwound the nano-fiber from his neck.

"This ring’s nice, I’m keeping it."

Long Ao stared at Li Feng, eyes wide open.

"Don’t glare at me like that. Perhaps you don’t want to admit you’ve aged, but you truly have. It’s time to accept it."

"Join your son down below."

Li Feng withdrew his surgical knife blade, Chu Wei’s fingertip Butterfly Knife technique was learned from him after all, swinging fast, how could his opponent surpass him.

Li Feng kicked over a nearby burning ice bucket filled with strong alcohol, instantly setting the sofa and both Long Ao and his son Long Jiutian on fire.

Li Feng abruptly turned away, Long Ao couldn’t possibly still be alive, the severed arteries in his wrists meant he wouldn’t last more than ninety seconds before shock from excessive blood loss set in.

Moreover, that wound on his neck was even more lethal; the only reason he could still glare at Li Feng was because the surgical knife was too fast, too fast for his body to react to "Go to hell."

Plump.

Li Feng walked out of the private room, Long Ao’s lifeless eyes kneeling down, consumed by the flames.

Li Feng left Jin City directly, Chu Wei had done the same as him, setting a fire when he left.

The fire quickly engulfed the entire Jin City building, and by the time the fire department arrived, the fire was unstoppable.

Li Feng returned to Outer Heaven, took a shower, and went back to bed.

Zhou Zhishan, asleep, felt the warmth of his chest behind her, snuggled deeper into Li Feng’s embrace, and drifted back to sleep.

"Boss Dong."

"Did you find out?"

"I found out, this is what you wanted."
