Chapter 13 Dinner

Chapter 13: Chapter 13 Dinner

"Get to class, all of you!"

Zhishan Zhou quickly shut the car door and turned to look at her approaching roommates, among them was Li Feng’s cousin, Zhang Xin.

"Oh, Zhou Zhishan, why are you blushing?"

"Wow, Zhou Zhishan you’ve struck it rich, huh? That’s the latest style; that dress must cost about 188,000."

"That bag, it’s not a genuine Gucci, right?"

"Hey, are you guys focusing on the wrong things? Zhishan, aren’t you going to introduce your boyfriend to us?"

a girl said.

"Yeah, yeah, Zhou Zhishan, you’ve really kept him under wraps! Quietly snagging a wealthy second-generation, impressive indeed."

"This must be a luxury car, worth several million, this sports car."

A few girls chattered as they clung to Zhou Zhishan, while Zhang Xin went directly to the driver’s side and started knocking on the window.

"Hello there, handsome."

Zhang Xin, seeing the window roll down and smiling sweetly at the person inside, froze upon recognizing who it was.

"I thought, why are you here?"

Zhang Xin’s expression immediately darkened. She turned her head to Zhou Zhishan, "Zhou Zhishan, do I deserve an explanation from you why you’re appearing together with my cousin?"

Zhou Zhishan took a deep breath; the moment Li Feng rolled down the window, she had steeled herself and calmly faced her close friend Zhang Xin.

"You’ve already guessed, why bother asking me?"

Zhang Xin stepped in front of Zhou Zhishan, "Zhou Zhishan, have you, have you lost your mind? Out of all people, you seduce my sycophantic cousin?"

"And, what’s so good about him? Are you blind? Didn’t I tell you? He’s just my family’s son-in-law, absolutely useless. Everything he eats, wears, and uses comes from my sister. At her one word, he has to kneel and grovel, a mere bootlicker. What on earth do you see in him?"

Zhang Xin, furious, stared at Zhou Zhishan, "Well, say something."

Li Feng pushed open the car door and stepped out.

Zhang Xin’s roommates, who had seen Li Feng before, were equally stunned. How on earth did Zhou Zhishan end up entangled with Zhang Xin’s cousin? This was just too melodramatic.

"Li Feng, you sure have the guts, cheating behind my sister’s back, getting all cocky now."

Zhang Xin turned and approached Li Feng, her hand coming up in a slap.

However, Li Feng grabbed Zhang Xin’s wrist mid-swing.

"Zhang Xin, your cousin and I are already divorced."

Zhang Xin paused, then flared up even more.

"We’re divorced, so that’s your excuse to sleep with my best friend? You’re just trying to disgust me!" Zhang Xin, furious, swung her other hand.

"Slap!"

Zhang Xin, in disbelief, touched her burning cheek, more out of anger and embarrassment, "Li Feng, how dare you hit me."

"You dare to hit me, you bootlicker."

Li Feng, exasperated, shook off his hand, and Zhang Xin fell to the ground. He gave the screaming Zhang Xin a cold look.

Ignoring her, he turned to Zhou Zhishan.

"I’ll leave first, call me if anything comes up."

After saying this, Li Feng got back into his car and drove away.

"Zhang Xin, are you okay?"

Zhang Xin quickly got up, unable to comprehend how this man, who’d always meekly obeyed her sister at home, dared to lay a hand on her.

Zhang Xin clenched her fists, teeth gritting loudly.

"Zhou Zhishan, are you out of your mind? Did he drug you?" Zhang Xin coldly faced her roommate, their friendship capsizing unexpectedly.

Zhou Zhishan’s face was as cold as frost. "I don’t have to explain anything to you."

"Zhou Zhishan, you slut, he’s just weaseling some money from my sister, how long do you think he’ll last?"

"Zhang Xin, a lot of people are watching."

"So, let them watch and see who is truly shameless." Zhang Xin seethed with rage, while Zhou Zhishan abruptly turned and, unwilling to say more, knew she was being used as a pawn by Li Feng. Even though she was furious inside, her response lacked energy.

Zhang Xin watched Zhou Zhishan return to the dorm before storming off, her roommate called out, "Zhang Xin, where are you going?"

"Help me request a leave."

Zhang Xin immediately took a taxi to her cousin Zhang Xue’s house.

"Sis, are you and Li Feng divorced?"

"Where did you hear that?"

"How do I know? That bootlicker drove a Maserati in front of our dorm early this morning, with my roommate, the campus belle, in it."

Zhang Xue frowned upon hearing Zhang Xin’s words, "I did divorce him, but are you sure that campus belle went with him?"

"Absolutely sure; my roommate didn’t come back last night, and even her walking seemed off—it’d be weird if they hadn’t slept together."

"His matters don’t concern me now."

"Cuz, that bootlicker even slapped me, and he said he’d pick her up tonight for dinner. Isn’t that just to provoke me, this is to provoke you."

Zhang Xin gritted her teeth.

Zhang Xue leaned back on the sofa, "Alright, I got it. Don’t you have classes?"

"Mr. Feng, there’s a charity dinner tonight at the hotel, are you attending?"

"Charity dinner."

"Yeah, sponsored by Sihai Group."
