Chapter 116: Seriously Ill

Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Seriously Ill

Li Feng twisted his head to look at Wei Lan, whose face was flushed with a hint of embarrassment.

"You must have come to me for some serious business, right?"

Wei Lan, having said that, almost wanted to slap herself. What was wrong with her today? She hadn’t even had a drink, yet her mouth was malfunctioning.

"There is serious business."

Li Feng nodded.

"Is Sihai Group interested?"

"Huh?" Wei Lan looked at Li Feng in surprise, suddenly recalling how Li Feng had tossed Qingcheng Fashion her way and she had become the shopkeeper who had stepped back.

Just a while ago, the news that Li Feng had taken over Sihai was the headline news in Huacheng. When she saw it, she was shocked, because Sihai Group was no small player; it was a commercial empire worth hundreds of billions.

"You’re not thinking of tossing Sihai to me as well, are you?"

Wei Lan felt her heart beating a bit too fast, almost unable to bear it.

Li Feng glanced at Wei Lan and said, "Your appetite isn’t small. Can you handle it?"

Mocked by Li Feng, Wei Lan’s face turned even redder.

"Of course I can’t handle it, not even the Wei Family can."

Wei Lan shook her head. As the daughter of the Wei Family, she understood her family’s situation well; they also had an industry worth several hundred billion.

But compared to Sihai Group, it was like a minor witch seeing a great sorcerer. If she were truly eager to devour it, she’d have to worry about whether she could stomach it.

"What are you thinking?"

Wei Lan unconsciously spoke with a respectful tone, and Li Feng said indifferently, "Sihai is but a chicken rib to me. I had a lot of help taking over Sihai before, and now it’s time to repay everyone."

"This matter is complicated, and I don’t want to waste time on it. So, I plan to find someone to help with the work. You’ve managed Qingcheng well these days, so I want to hand this over to you. You’ll represent me in full authority."

"Ah!"

When Wei Lan heard Li Feng say this, her heart almost leaped out of her chest. Even in its current bad situation, Sihai Group had substantial assets—worth hundreds of billions!

Was it being handed over to her to handle?

"Are you really handing it to me?"

Li Feng looked at Wei Lan, "Why, don’t want it?"

Wei Lan, flustered, waved her hands, "No, it’s not that. It’s just that even if Sihai is currently not doing well, the scale is still there. Especially a few projects in hand have great potential—it’s a plate worth hundreds of billions."

"Can I handle it?"

Wei Lan was extremely conflicled inside. On one hand, she wanted to take it on; if this task was assigned to her, she would surely be able to carve out a hefty piece for herself. But on the other hand, she feared she might not handle it well; it was too much pressure.

She had previously felt strained managing Qingcheng Fashion, a company worth several billion—overwhelming, indeed.

"I say you can, then you can."

Li Feng spoke plainly, making Wei Lan feel like her heart was about to explode because of this man.

She was baffled at how her former best friend, Zhang Xue, could not appreciate a man like this. How she wished she could throw herself at him without reservation.

This gift from Li Feng was enormously overwhelming.

"Besides, you’re not alone."

Li Feng valued not only Wei Lan but also the Wei Family, an old and well-established family in Huacheng with deep roots and robust strength—not the strongest, yet not weak either,—just enough for Li Feng’s purposes.

Let the Wei Family step in to dissect Sihai Group.

He could smoothly retreat behind the scenes because earlier during the acquisition of Qingcheng, there were talks of his collusion with the Wei Family, labeling him as a lapdog of the Wei Family.

Li Feng was too lazy to argue. Letting nature take its course was best—having the Wei Family step in again was just perfect.

Wei Lan nodded repeatedly like a pecking chicken. The bartender placed two martinis on the bar; Wei Lan handed one to Li Feng.

"Then I’ll do as you say."

Li Feng clinked glasses with Wei Lan, and before he could finish his drink, a man in a casual suit came over with a drink in hand.

"Hi, beauty."

Wei Lan furrowed her brows, gave the man a glance, and replied with an icy tone, "What do you want?"

The man, undeterred, walked over and sat down next to Wei Lan.

"Beauty, meeting is fate. I’m Huang Hai. May I have the pleasure of knowing you?" The man said, extending a rather impressive business card towards Wei Lan.

"Not convenient."

Wei Lan flatly refused.

Huang Hai didn’t expect such a direct rejection and involuntarily glanced at Li Feng, sizing him up.

"Man, which company are you with? You look unfamiliar."

Li Feng glanced at Huang Hai, "Are you sick?"

Huang Hai did not expect Li Feng to say that, and his eyes turned cold, "You dare say I’m sick?"

Li Feng swiveled his chair, took a careful look at Huang Hai.

"Yeah, you really are sick."

Wei Lan put her arm around Li Feng’s arm, "Mr. Feng, let’s not stoop to his level. Let’s go somewhere else."

"Beauty, where are you going? You insulted me for no reason and still want to leave like that?"

Huang Hai reached out and blocked Wei Lan.

At a booth nearby, a few young men who had been watching the scene grabbed their beer bottles and walked over.

"So, what do you want?" Wei Lan looked at them through gritted teeth.

Huang Hai scoffed and looked at Li Feng, "Buddy, don’t say I didn’t give you a chance. You called me sick, so count to five for me."

"If you can’t do it, it’s simple, kneel down and apologize, call me ’big brother’ twice. I might forgive you."

"Don’t push it too far."

Wei Lan clenched her teeth.

"Beauty, if you can’t bear it, you kneel down and give us a good laugh," one young man said, his face lecherous as he scanned Wei Lan’s body, swallowing his saliva secretly.

Wei Lan dressed casually coming to the bar, but as a strong woman, her clothes were mostly professional in style.

This outfit, professional yet revealing the lure of a uniform...

Ambitious women like her are very lonely at night, their taste quite unique, and Wei Lan was undoubtedly one of the elite, the cream of the crop.

Huang Hai finished his drink in one gulp, looking at Li Feng as he stepped forward.

"Well, say something, I’m a reasonable man."

"Either speak up or admit your cowardice."

Huang Hai reached his hand out to slap Li Feng’s face, but it seemed more like a strike.

Li Feng caught Huang Hai’s wrist.

A person behind Huang Hai picked up a wine bottle, smashed it on the bar, the crimson wine flowing down, and looked at Li Feng holding the dripping broken bottle.

The others also sneered ominously, weighing their wine bottles.

"Kid, try doing something."

"Man, think carefully, is she worth it?"

Wei Lan, watching these men, was absolutely furious.

"You really aren’t light with your sickness."

Just then, Li Feng spoke again in a light tone.

"What did you say? Say it again if you dare."
