Chapter 793: Chapter 812: Arrival of the Primordial Spirit
By all logic, Ye Xuan should have been enveloped in Buddha Light and not have fainted. Yet, contrary to this, Ye Xuan lay unconscious, with the Buddha Light around his body faint and elusive—a most strange occurrence.
“Could it be that he has still failed?”
Jieyin frowned deeply, striding toward Ye Xuan to check on his condition, but before he reached him, the events that unfolded next left the Western Two Saints standing in stunned silence.
“Greetings to both my senior brothers.”
Under the Bodhi Tree, Ye Xuan opened his eyes, a glimmer of Buddha Light twinkling within them. He wore a smile on his face, filled with the essence of Buddha nature, and behind him rose a halo of Buddha Light that bathed him in boundless spirituality. He pressed his hands together in a gesture of respect toward the Western Two Saints.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Heaven and Earth trembled, and the Buddha Light shone brightly in the sky. Above the vault of heaven, golden Buddha Lotuses bloomed across the firmament. Strands of Buddha Light sprouted from all directions, and the sound of celestial Buddhist chanting echoed through the void.
Dong—Dong—Dong!
Eighty-one sounds of Heaven-and-Earth bell reverberated, and a colossal Buddha phantasm rose behind Ye Xuan—a visage identical to him at that moment, sitting cross-legged behind him and spanning the expanse between Heaven and Earth.
“All Laws Buddha Sounds, Golden Lotuses descending from the sky?”
Staring at the phenomena Ye Xuan exhibited, Zhunti trembled with excitement, his face brimming with euphoria, beholding Ye Xuan as if gazing upon a peerless treasure.
“Jieyin greets junior brother.”
“Zhunti greets junior brother.”
Suddenly, the Western Two Saints approached Ye Xuan with smiles, stepping forward and returning his gesture with hands pressed together, their faces alight with compassionate smiles.
Woo!
A wild wind swept through Heaven and Earth. A deluge of Buddha Light showered down, and Ye Xuan’s black attire vanished, replaced by a moon white monk robe under the shining Buddha Light. Loose strands of hair fell behind his head, as if he had transformed into a venerable monk.
“Thank you both, senior brothers, for helping me escape the demon within my heart. From now on, my mind is dedicated to Buddha, devoid of any other thoughts,” Ye Xuan chanted with hands pressed together, the Buddha Light swirling ceaselessly around him, radiating warmth and serenity.
“Excellent, excellent, excellent. Although junior brother once walked the path of the Demon, returning from the lost way is truly commendable. We, your senior brothers, find great solace in this,” Jieyin said with a nod and a smile.
“Junior brother, today you have found your way back to the Buddhist Sect, willing to forsake even your life. What say we call your Dharma name ‘Qingming’?” Zhunti suggested with a smile.
Qingming—a name that looks up to the clear heavens and gazes down at the Jiuyou, traversing the Three Realms, encompassing Heaven and Earth within a Buddhist heart—the significance of this name ran deep, and it was a Dharma name the Western Two Saints had prepared early for Ye Xuan.
“Qingming?”
Ye Xuan murmured, then with a slight nod, looked toward the Western Two Saints and spoke, “The name is excellent. Qingming is grateful for the names gifted by my senior brothers.”
“Junior brother, before you entered the path of the Demon, you suffered great harm. Even though today you have joined the Buddhist Sect and shed your ferocity and anger, your injuries are still severe. We, your senior brothers, shall help you eradicate them.”
Jieyin spoke with benevolent warmth, and at that moment, the Western Two Saints’ bodies overflowed with Heaven and Earth Holy Light—a robust aura of Buddha nature wrapped ceaselessly around them, as they placed their palms against Ye Xuan’s forehead. Vast Holy Power poured incessantly into Ye Xuan’s brow.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Holy Light blazed, and the Buddha Light was boundless. With the two Great Saints acting in unison, the injuries that Ye Xuan had previously suffered healed rapidly, and the Buddha Light around his body intensified.
Hum!
After several dozen breaths, the two Great Saints withdrew their hands, and Ye Xuan was restored to his prime. There he sat, eyes closed, beneath the Bodhi Tree, within him resonating a grand, solemn sound of Buddha.
“Junior Brother, you should meditate and regulate your breath for now, and once you awaken from your cultivation, come find the two of us behind the mountain. I have something to tell you,” Jieyin said, giving Zhunti a glance. The two Great Saints transformed into Escape Light and vanished without a trace.
…
Behind the mountain!
On two golden lotuses, the Western Two Saints sat with Holy Light swirling around them, sealing this part of Heaven and Earth to ensure their conversation would not be overheard.
“Senior Brother, do you think we have truly converted Ye Xuan?” Zhunti’s smile disappeared, and concern showed in his eyes as he queried Jieyin.
“The Soul Redemption Buddha Sound is no trivial matter; with our combined efforts over eighty-one years, even a Vajra Stone could be converted.”
Jieyin smiled and continued, “Moreover, though it seemed we were healing his wounds just now, we were also probing his true state. Inside him is nothing but Buddha Power, and his Undying True Spirit has turned golden. Indeed, he has been successfully converted by us. There is absolutely no falsehood in this.”
“But… Ye Xuan is full of tricks, and he possesses various mysterious Great Techniques. If he has used some technique to deceive us, I’m afraid…” Zhunti trailed off, but the apprehension in his words was unmistakable.
“Junior Brother, you worry too much. You mustn’t overestimate him. We are both Saints. How can he possibly deceive us? Besides, the Soul Redemption Buddha Sound is a Saint Technique we created ourselves. No matter how capable Ye Xuan is, he cannot resolve the Soul Redemption Buddha Sound.”
Jieyin spoke with a smile, his words brimming with confidence. He knew well how powerful the Soul Redemption Buddha Sound was; moreover, this time they had joined forces. How could Ye Xuan possibly not be converted?
“Senior Brother is right; perhaps I am overly anxious,” Zhunti nodded, yet a trace of worry still lingered in his eyes, his heart unsettled.
Zhunti was a man of meticulous thoughts, with an intuition beyond ordinary people. He always felt something was off with Ye Xuan, but couldn’t pinpoint what it was.
Zhunti could only suppress this hint of worry; perhaps he was just being oversensitive. Ye Xuan had already been converted by the two of them; how could he possibly deceive two Great Saints?
…
Under the Bodhi Tree.
Ye Xuan sat cross-legged, Buddha Light swirling around him, chanting Buddha Sounds softly, giving off the aura of an old monk in deep meditation. His presence occasionally exuded a peaceful aura as if he genuinely were a high monk who had attained the Way.
Om!
Suddenly, a pinpoint of black light silently cut across Changtian, appearing quietly before Ye Xuan. As the black light gradually faded, a spectral figure emerged.
“Soul Redemption Buddha Sound?”
“These two bald donkeys have such ruthless methods!” The shadowy figure spoke coldly. He paced in front of Ye Xuan, scrutinizing him, dark light twined around him with a faint aura of murderous intent blossoming.
“To kill or not to kill?” The shadowy figure murmured. His face was completely obscured in shadows, indecipherable, his presence vague and enigmatic.
Terrifying, utterly terrifying. This shadowy figure had entered the territory of the Western Two Saints without a sound and unnoticed. Just this capability alone was beyond imagination.
“My dear disciple, tell me, should your master kill you?”
The voice of the shadowy figure was harsh and deep, his aura in turmoil, indicating his restlessness—clearly, he was in a profound dilemma.
“You useless thing… When I granted you the Hongmeng Purple Qi, you should have used it to become a Saint. Instead, you always wanted to break free from my control. If you had become a Saint sooner, why would your master risk coming into the territory of these thief monks today?”
Primordial Spirit, it was actually the Primordial Spirit. It was the first time since Ye Xuan had entered the Earth Immortal Realm that he truly appeared before Ye Xuan. He was raising his palm as if he was about to crush Ye Xuan on the spot.
“No, I cannot kill him. He has not become a Saint. If I were to kill him now, would that not be ruining my own efforts?” Primordial Spirit muttered hatefully, ultimately lowering the palm he had raised.
