Chapter 634 - 634 653 Fighting Saint Buddha
634: Chapter 653 Fighting Saint Buddha 634: Chapter 653 Fighting Saint Buddha A Heavenly Divine Mountain, a vast temple, auspicious clouds flowed at the edge of the sky, tranquil Buddha Light radiated far and wide, and from the void, in all directions, came the chanting of the Buddhist Sect.
In the Western Lingshan, The Thunderclap Monastery, this was one of the strongest Daoist lineages between Heaven and Earth, and furthermore, it was founded by the Western Two Saints.
Countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were within it, and its foundation was unimaginably powerful.
Worldly people only knew that within Lingshan resided The Buddha, whose Buddha’s Divine Powers were top-notch in the Three Realms, but few knew that although Duobao Tathagata held sway over the Lingshan lineage, he might not necessarily be the strongest.
Three thousand Buddhas, eight divisions of heavenly dragons, Bodhisattva Buddhas, Vajra Arhats…
If one were to only consider the surface-level power, the Thirty-Three Layered Heaven could entirely match Lingshan, but within Lingshan, there were divine practitioners of terrible Great Divine Powers, which the Heavenly Court could not compare to.
Lingshan was boundless and vast; who knew how many great divine practitioners of the Buddhist Sect cultivated in secret within Lingshan, yet as endless Time passed, these great divine practitioners were seldom seen.
At the North Peak of Lingshan.
The sea of clouds surged, fog pervaded, a figure sat cross-legged at the summit’s zenith, shrouded by the clouds and mist, rendering his visage unclear.
Without the universal radiance of the Buddha Light, nor the chanting of the Buddhist Sect heard, this figure sat like an unyielding rock, motionless, as if meditating soulfully through endless Time.
No matter how the world changed, nothing could stir even the slightest ripple in his heart.
“Brother, do you truly not wish to help me?” Princess Iron Fan’s hair was disheveled, her face maddened and, in a low roar, she looked toward this figure, her gaze revealing an extremely sorrowful tinge.
Alas, the figure remained silent and motionless, without any reaction, no matter how earnestly Princess Iron Fan pleaded, he did not respond from beginning to end.
“Sun Wukong, he is your sworn brother, are you truly so heartless and unrighteous, to remain indifferent as Ye Xuan strikes him down?” Princess Iron Fan’s voice trembled with sorrow, her eyes already brimming with extreme redness.
“Sigh…”
Suddenly, a light sigh echoed atop the peak, as the figure slowly rose to his feet, and from the cover of the clouds and sea, a calm voice followed.
“The conflicts of the world are unrelated to me, better you go back to whence you came,” said the hoarse voice from amidst the clouds, his tone very calm, without any disturbance.
“Sun Wukong, after you became a Buddha, are you really so heartless and unrighteous?” Princess Iron Fan bit her lip, tears rolling down her eyes.
“Become a Buddha?”
As the clouds billowed, a point of Buddha Light burst forth among the mists, revealing the figure stepping forward, his countenance becoming visible.
Sun Wukong!
The Monkey King, Great Sage Equalling Heaven, Fighting Saint Buddha; these were his titles, but at this moment, Sun Wukong wore the robes of the Buddhist Sect, his eyes dim and lifeless, his once golden fur withered and dull, appearing like an old monkey, no longer possessing the rebellious and untamable spirit that once dared to disrupt Heaven and Earth.
“You…
how have you become like this?”
Princess Iron Fan muttered in a daze, unable to believe her own eyes; how could the once rebellious and untamable Great Sage Equalling Heaven have turned into an old monkey, his unruly spirit gone.
Unfortunately, Sun Wukong did not answer her question but calmly looked at Princess Iron Fan and said, “My cultivation is now wasted, my former Divine Skills gone; how do you expect me to help you?”
“Why…
why?”
“How…
how is this possible?”
Seeing the forlorn aura around Sun Wukong, Princess Iron Fan could fully sense that he indeed had no cultivation left, which was simply unimaginable for her, not knowing what had happened to Sun Wukong over the endless passage of time.
“Where you come from, return there,” Sun Wukong said calmly, and sat down cross-legged amidst the clouds once again.
This caused Princess Iron Fan to gaze dumbly at his retreating figure, a look of profound sorrow appearing in her eyes.
“Even you can’t help me.
Even if I were to beg all the Buddhas of Lingshan, who among them would dare avenge my husband?” Princess Iron Fan bit her lips tightly as she spoke.
“Bull Brother’s destiny is marked by Heaven; henceforth, you should cultivate in peace and not seek out Ye Xuan anymore.
Only by doing so can you protect your own life,” Sun Wukong’s hoarse voice broke the silence, and then he spoke no more.
“Humph!”
“Stinking monkey, I never thought you would end up with your cultivation completely lost.
What right do you have to lecture me?”
With her last hope shattered, Princess Iron Fan’s eyes brimmed with blood as she mounted her auspicious clouds and left the place, restoring peace to the North Peak of Lingshan once again.
“To think the mighty Great Sage Equalling Heaven has fallen to such a state, it is truly pitiable and lamentable.
Even now, as a Quasi-Saint, what of it?
In the eyes of a Saint, you are but an ant,” a voice of disdain suddenly emerged from the vaporous sea of clouds, emanating from within Sun Wukong himself yet causing no ripple in his composure, as if he had long grown accustomed to this voice’s existence.
…
The night was liquid, stars sprinkled across the skies, a waning moon hung in the heavenly vault, and its radiant moonlight poured downward, scattering ripples of light across the boundless land.
Under the moon and across the heavenly vault, Ye Xuan walked slowly, making his way back to the small stone village.
He hadn’t pursued Princess Iron Fan because he did not wish to reveal himself before the Buddhas of Lingshan just yet.
A mere Princess Iron Fan was not enough to warrant Ye Xuan’s attention; he merely desired to step into the Quasi-Saint realm before the thirty-thousand-year deadline arrived.
In Ye Xuan’s hand, a golden hair appeared, as he calmly sensed the power it contained.
This very hair was something the Bull Demon King hadn’t the chance to use.
“Fighting Saint Buddha?”
As Ye Xuan murmured to himself, a streak of Immortal Light flashed through his eyes.
He didn’t need to guess, but simply from feeling its power, he had already come to a conclusion.
“Quasi-Saint Power?”
“He stepped into the Quasi-Saint realm?”
From a glimpse, he could understand the whole picture.
The golden hair could withstand one of his attacks for the Bull Demon King, which made Ye Xuan only think of one possibility, that of the Quasi-Saint, as he murmured to himself.
Suddenly.
Ye Xuan looked far towards the Western Lingshan, as if he could see a pair of withered eyes staring back at him, which caused him to squint slightly, a trace of inscrutable meaning crossing his gaze.
“Things are getting more and more interesting,” Ye Xuan withdrew his gaze, a slight smile curling at his lips.
No one knew what he was thinking, nor did they understand the implications behind his words.
Sun Wukong?
Quasi-Saint?
Perhaps someone might ask why Sun Wukong had reached the Quasi-Saint realm.
The reason is quite simple.
This world never lacks individuals of astonishing talent.
Some cultivate for a myriad of eons but can only remain as Daluo Golden Immortals, while other immortals live endless eras without even achieving the rank of Daluo Golden Immortal.
Yet, there will always be a select few, those with exceptional innate gifts, those who harmonize with heavenly patterns and terrestrial veins, possessing great wisdom and willpower, for whom a mere hundred thousand years, even tens of thousands, is enough to enter the Quasi-Saint realm.
Undoubtedly, Ye Xuan and Sun Wukong belong to this category of individuals.
