324: Chapter 323 Initial Clues Revealed 324: Chapter 323 Initial Clues Revealed “Brother!”
After a full five hundred years, when that single word escaped from Ye Ling’er’s lips, it seemed as though all her strength had been spent.
She suddenly threw herself into Ye Xuan’s embrace, as silent tears overflowed from her eyes.
Ye Xuan held his little sister calmly, a touch of warmth crossing his eyes, for the person in his arms was the only relative he had left in this world.
For the sake of ascending the Immortal Dao and to reign supreme over the Nine Heavens, he had forsaken the familial love of the Mortal World.
A reunion with his closest kin after five centuries deeply touched his heart.
“Silly girl, don’t cry,” Ye Xuan consoled gently.
“Brother, where have you been these five hundred years?
Do you know how much I’ve missed you?” Ye Ling’er’s eyes reddened as tears continued to stream down, and she kept pounding on Ye Xuan’s chest, as if to vent the pent-up sorrow of five centuries.
Ye Ling’er was no longer the young girl of the past; these five hundred years had transformed her into a mature lady.
Yet not a single trace of time had left its mark on Ye Xuan; he retained the same youthful and handsome appearance as before.
“How did Mother die?” Ye Xuan soothed his little sister until her emotions stabilized, and then he asked the question that puzzled him.
Upon hearing Ye Xuan’s words, Ye Ling’er hurriedly wiped her tears and answered, “Back then, the Ye Family was annihilated by a mysterious force…”
As Ye Ling’er narrated the story, Ye Xuan gradually uncovered some truths about the past.
When the Ye Family had been destroyed, Ye Ling’er’s husband, Tuoba Yuntian, led his clan to rescue them but was ultimately no match for the mysterious force.
Still, they managed to bring Ye Mother back to the Tuoba Family.
Devastated by Ye Ping’s death, Ye Mother succumbed to her grief and passed away from depression after ten years.
Throughout the centuries, Ye Ling’er had been investigating who had exterminated the entire Ye Family.
Finally, Ye Ling’er had found some clues pointing directly to the Cultivation Alliance.
She was almost certain that the Cultivation Alliance was behind the eradication of her family.
While Ye Ling’er was determined to seek revenge, she was painfully aware of her own weakness.
Having only reached the Nascent Soul Stage after five hundred years, how could she possibly contend with the Cultivation Alliance?
Though Ye Ling’er’s husband was a Cultivator at the Body Integration Realm and the Tuoba Family was a family of cultivators, to the Cultivation Alliance, the Tuoba Family was nothing but an ant, barely worth their notice.
Listening quietly to Ye Ling’er’s slow recounting, Ye Xuan became silent and motionless, save for a strange flicker of light that briefly crossed the depths of his eyes.
Ye Xuan had a question, a very big question.
The Netherworld’s destruction, although partly due to internal divisions, was largely caused by the Cultivation Alliance.
The one controlling the Cultivation Alliance, having annihilated the Ye Family, oddly chose not to kill Ye Mother and instead allowed the Tuoba Family to successfully rescue her.
The most critical issue was that the Cultivation Alliance had pursued the Ye Family’s bloodline relentlessly across the world, yet they knew well that Ye Mother and Ye Ling’er were within the Tuoba Family’s domain.
Why, then, hadn’t they sought them out in all these centuries?
Linking all the questions together, a glimmer of Spiritual Light flashed through Ye Xuan’s mind, bringing forth a conjecture.
But whether this guess was correct, he would have to verify step by step.
“Brother, now that you’re back, with your Cultivation you could certainly annihilate the Cultivation Alliance,” Ye Ling’er’s lips quivered as she spoke with bitterness, “you must avenge our second brother and the others.”
“Mother!”
Suddenly.
Before Ye Xuan could reply, the sound of footsteps came from outside.
Two men approached rapidly, and upon seeing Ye Xuan embracing Ye Ling’er, their expressions changed dramatically.
“How audacious!
Who are you to seize my mother?
Release her at once!” The young man, a cultivator at the Golden Core Stage, summoned a sword light and was about to slay Ye Xuan.
“Stop, Nianxuan!”
With Ye Ling’er’s rebuke, the young man’s sword light dissipated, and his gaze towards his mother was filled with confusion.
“Mother, you…?”
“Unfilial son, kneel down!”
Ye Ling’er’s frailty was gone, replaced by the stern demeanor of a strict mother, which pained the young man but still prompted him to kneel.
“Brother, this is my and Yuntian’s son; his name is Tuoba Nianxuan.
He’s always been impetuous.
Don’t be too hard on him, brother,” Ye Ling’er said with a bitter smile.
“Brother?” Hearing his mother’s words, Tuoba Nianxuan’s expression froze and he curiously turned his gaze to Ye Xuan.
“Unfilial son, come and pay respects to your uncle.
He is your mother’s own elder brother,” Ye Ling’er spoke with a hint of reprimand.
“Tuoba Nianxuan pays respects to Uncle.”
Tuoba Nianxuan quickly stood up and bowed to Ye Xuan, his eyes clearly filled with immense curiosity.
He had always heard his mother speak of her never-before-seen brother, praising him as an invincible being in this world.
However, Tuoba Nianxuan did not believe it, always considering his father the strongest man.
Looking at Tuoba Nianxuan, Ye Xuan could faintly see traces of Ye Ling’er’s features in the young man’s brow, which made his own eyes momentarily lose focus.
He had not expected that after five hundred years, his younger sister would have offspring.
A pill materialized in Ye Xuan’s hand, which he then offered to Tuoba Nianxuan, saying, “This is a Soul Condensing Elixir, capable of aiding you to break through a Great Realm.
Consider it a meeting gift from your uncle.”
Taking the elixir from Ye Xuan’s hand, Tuoba Nianxuan was dumbstruck.
He clearly harbored disbelief regarding this sudden appearance of an uncle.
“Father, can this elixir truly escalate me a realm?” Tuoba Nianxuan turned to look at his father, who, as a cultivator in the Body Integration Realm, naturally had a more discerning eye—and had always been the object of his admiration.
“You child, do you realize who your uncle is?
Could there be any falsehood in the elixir he gives you?” Ye Ling’er said sternly.
Following Ye Ling’er’s strict admonishment, Tuoba Nianxuan quickly secured the elixir with great reverence for his mother, not daring to utter a single word of doubt.
“Husband, my elder brother has returned.”
Ye Ling’er approached her husband with great joy, taking his arm and leading him towards Ye Xuan.
Tuoba Yuntian, current patriarch of the Tuoba Family, was in the Body Integration Realm.
Under his leadership over the past few centuries, the Tuoba Family had become a force to be reckoned with, though not world-renowned.
With eyebrows like drawn swords and bright, discerning eyes that exuded a vigorous and upright air, such was the impression Tuoba Yuntian made on Ye Xuan.
Looking at Ye Ling’er’s husband, Ye Xuan dimly remembered seeing the man briefly before he left the Human World years ago.
Back then, Tuoba Yuntian had just shyly married Ye Ling’er.
Five hundred years had passed since then, and now they even had a child—time truly waits for no one.
“Tuoba Yuntian pays his respects to Big Brother!” Tuoba Yuntian greeted with a smile, bowing deeply to Ye Xuan.
Yet, his eyes slightly tightened only to quickly relax again.
“Good, you…
hmm?”
Ye Xuan was about to speak when he abruptly fell silent, his eyes slightly narrowing as he looked at Tuoba Yuntian, causing the latter’s complexion to shift subtly, yet he remained composed and showed no sign of abnormality.
