Chapter 203 - 203 203 Miyamoto Mutten Arrives

203: Chapter 203: Miyamoto Mutten Arrives 203: Chapter 203: Miyamoto Mutten Arrives The biting cold wind of heaven and earth howled as it passed.

Miyamoto Mutten gazed into the distance, the cherry blossoms he once cherished were no longer in existence; the entire Sakura Mountain had turned into scorched earth.

Among the mountains and fields, one could see an abundance of human skeletons.

“My people are weeping, their lost souls are wailing.

There is no country, no home left.

Ye Xuan, all of this is thanks to you.”

Miyamoto Mutten murmured to himself as he looked out from the peak of Sakura Mountain toward the land of Japan, what he saw was warlords in chaos and Blood Soul Strange Beasts slaughtering his people.

Bodies floated everywhere, and the land was filled with mourning.

Japan had long turned into a human purgatory, and even though Miyamoto Mutten had inherited the Heavenly Cluster Cloud Sword and had stepped into the Body Integration Realm, he could not change this outcome.

“Let it snow!”

With a soft call from Miyamoto Mutten, as he pointed toward the heavenly vault, a fierce cold wind arose, and large snowflakes began to fall, burying the remains and skeletons in the wind and snow, as if burying Miyamoto Mutten’s last thoughts as well.

“Right and wrong, success and failure, all become void in the end; how many times has life seen the setting sun red?

Ye Xuan, have you never considered that everything in this world has its cause and effect, its reincarnation?” Miyamoto Mutten quietly spoke to himself as he took a step forward, suddenly shattering the void, and he disappeared without a trace.

The land of Japan was full of scars.

Mountains and rivers, lakes and seas—Miyamoto Mutten walked high above, looking down indifferently upon his own country.

As he traversed every inch of Japan’s land, his eyes grew evermore weathered and profound.

A small coastal town lay silent and deathly quiet; blood spread throughout, with vast numbers of human skeletons everywhere.

Moreover, tens of thousands of mutant beasts roamed the town, devouring human flesh and blood, occasionally emitting excited and fierce roars.

Miyamoto Mutten sat cross-legged in the void, calmly watching this scene.

With every opening and closing of his eyes, a trace of sorrow flashed by.

“Returning Ruins.”

With just those two simple words spoken by Miyamoto Mutten, the eight directions of heaven and earth trembled thunderously.

The Heavenly Cluster Cloud Sword emerged from his forehead, bursting forth with a myriad of spiritual lights.

Boom!

The Heavenly Sword descended upon the town, turning countless buildings to ash, while tens of thousands of mutant beasts let out pitiful howls and turned into a blood mist, blown away by the cold wind toward the distance.

Thud!

Miyamoto Mutten took a step, with the Heavenly Cluster Cloud Sword circulating around him.

He silently disappeared into the void, leaving only the obliterated town as proof that Miyamoto Mutten had once been there.

Missiles roared, streaking across the heavenly vault.

Numerous high-tech weapons unleashed terrifying tongues of flame, howling towards Miyamoto Mutten high in the sky.

With one sword strike, heaven and earth thundered, and the missiles became a sky full of firelight.

With the second strike, the troops on the ground were nearly annihilated.

On his journey, Miyamoto Mutten cleared all the warlords of Japan; a great number of Blood Soul Strange Beasts died under the Heavenly Cluster Cloud Sword.

However, Japan no longer existed as it once did, and the human population was pitifully small.

With every strike Miyamoto Mutten made, the aura of detachment around him thickened, his own presence becoming ever more ethereal and elusive.

And this was the unique aura of a cultivator.

The capital of Japan.

What was once a bustling metropolis lay in ruins, as though it were a Dead City, no longer with a trace of its former noise and clamor.

In the streets, the occasional Japanese person appeared, killing each other over some food; the victors laughed wildly, while the losers turned into corpses.

Miyamoto Mutten had walked all the way here, taking in all the scenes before him, the aura of sorrow around him growing thicker until he reached the outside of the Emperor Pavilion, where the guards, on high alert, were taken aback at the sight of him.

“Emperor…

Emperor?” they exclaimed in disbelief.

“Your Majesty…

you’re not dead?” cried another.

With the commotion, a dozen court officials emerged from the Emperor Pavilion, followed by Miyamoto Mutten’s children and relatives.

As they caught sight of him, everyone’s eyes brimmed with tears, overwhelmed with emotion.

“Father Emperor, I just knew you were still alive.”

A young man wearing an imperial crown and robe stumbled toward Miyamoto Mutten, falling to his knees before him and wailing.

“Father Emperor, I’ve missed you so much.”

A Japanese princess stumbled forward and flung herself into Miyamoto Mutten’s arms, her tears soaking his garments.

“Father Emperor, it’s my incompetence that has left Japan in ruins,” the young man said shamefully, trembling all over.

“Your Majesty, now that you’re back, we can surely rebuild Japan,” the court officials said through their tears, filled with newfound hope.

At that moment!

Miyamoto Mutten let out a self-deprecating smile, gently stroking his daughter’s hair and said in a gentle voice, “Japan has already fallen, and I am no longer an emperor, merely a sinner of Japan.”

“Father Emperor, let’s leave Japan and find a place to live in seclusion.

Even if we are no longer a royal family, we can still live together peacefully,” the Japanese princess sobbed.

Miyamoto Mutten slowly pushed his daughter away, his aura becoming cold and ethereal, his voice deep, “Even though Japan is no more, I must avenge this wrong.

Otherwise, how could I face our ancestors after death, and the Japanese people who have died?”

“Go, all of you leave Japan and find a place to live out your lives in peace.”

Miyamoto Mutten was enveloped in spiritual light as he engraved the faces of his children in his memory, his eyes devoid of any lingering attachment.

With a single step, the Heavenly Cluster Cloud Sword burst forth from his brow, transforming into two streaks of light, one man and one sword, shooting towards the lands of Eastern Xia Country.

“Is that…

the Heavenly Cluster Cloud Sword?” a court official gasped in shock.

“No mistake, it must be the Heavenly Cluster Cloud Sword,” another official exclaimed excitedly with a flushed face.

“Father Emperor, I will never leave.

Even if Japan has perished, I shall wait for you to slay Ye Xuan, and together we will rebuild Japan,” the Japanese prince declared, clenching his fists and roaring with resolve.

In the Western world.

A streak of light weaved through the clouds, frightening blasts of sound causing ears to ring, turning massive swathes of clouds into vapor.

Ye Xuan, dressed in black, had an impassive face, but his eyes flickered with a crimson glint, and an intense murderous aura enveloped him as he sped towards a distant city.

Boom!

The void trembled, space stagnated, and as Ye Xuan hovered above the city, his expression darkened considerably.

Below him, there was not a single living soul in the city, only corpses scattered everywhere.

“This is the fourth Dead City!” Ye Xuan murmured to himself.

Ye Xuan had stayed in the Western world with an intention to hunt down these remnant spirits of the immortals and consume their cultivation.

But as he passed through four Holy Cities, he found neither remnant spirits nor humans alive; everyone had been killed, and their life force devoured.

Clearly, someone had acted before him, consuming all the blood energy of these beings.

Cruel, brutal, and extremely ruthless, and hadn’t left a single survivor.

This was the scene before Ye Xuan.
