Chapter 154: Chapter 153 Drop Your Gun, or Die! (Part 1)_1

Meanwhile, near Qingshui Village, at the foot of Wanlian Mountain, several police cars were conspicuously parked, and the vicinity was cordoned off. There were police officers bustling back and forth, indicating that something significant had occurred in Qingshui Village!

On a clear patch of ground, a group of officers were grimacing at the four corpses laid out before them.

The bodies, disheveled with uncombed hair, belonged to women. They were naked, their eyeballs gouged out, bodies covered in extensive wounds. Key areas were turned into bloody messes, bite marks still visible on their necks.

They died gruesome deaths.

A flash of sternness and anger lingered between the brows of every officer at the scene.

Who could be such a monster! They had killed these blossoming young women in the most brutal way possible! They had bitten into their necks, ripped out their hearts, and even mutilated their lower bodies, evidently having violated them while they were still alive!

"Damn you, brute! If I, Officer Qin, could just get my hands on you, I’d flay you alive!" A middle-aged officer exclaimed while flinging his hand in extreme anger.

His own daughter was around the same age, so the fate that had befallen these women hit him particularly hard.

"Uh..."

Zhu Xiaolin clapped her hand over her mouth, quickly turned around, and vomited by the side of a tree. Despite having seen many gruesome crimes in her service, she had never witnessed murder committed in such a cruel manner. The killer had to be a psychopath!

If she were to catch this man, she made a pledge to herself that she would burst his balls!

Officer Qin patted Zhu Xiaolin on the back and asked, "Captain, do you need to rest in the car for a bit? We’ll have the medical examiner take over for now. It might take some time."

Zhu Xiaolin’s eyes flashed with determination as she waved her hand to dismiss Officer Qin, saying, "I’m fine. Let’s keep going."

She trained her eyes on the bodies while the medical examiner started their examinations. It shouldn’t be long before they came up with some preliminary findings.

After what seemed like an eternity, Zhu Xiaolin finally approached one of the medical examiners. "What are your findings?" She asked.

The medical examiner looked paler than usual as they gravely reported, "These women likely died five hours ago. There are bite marks on their necks, and their abdomens and chests have been torn open like they were clawed by some wild beast. Their hearts...kidneys...some of their vital organs...they’re all missing."

Zhu Xiaolin was taken aback. She had pictured the brutality of the murderer, but never imagined it to this horrific extent. Could it be one of those illegal organ trafficking rings?

It was feasible.

The medical examiner noticed Zhu Xiaolin deep in thought and hurriedly explained, "It likely isn’t the work of an organ trafficking ring because not only are there these injuries, but the victims’ lower anatomies appear to have been violated in a dreadfully cruel way."

Zhu Xiaolin snapped. She lashed out with her foot, striking a stone. A stream of profanities burst from her mouth, "Fucking psycho! If I catch you, I swear I’ll kill you myself! Damn!"

Every last officer at the scene was incandescent with fury, their fists clenching tightly. Despite their many years of service, they had never been called to such an exceptional case.

Only a few seconds passed before Zhu Xiaolin collected herself again. Now was not the time to curse. They had to find the killer—fast. "Let’s search the area for any clues," she ordered, her voice steady. "For all we know, the killer could be close by, maybe even near Qingshui Village. Everyone stay on alert."

"Yes!"

The officers scattered in various directions, each covering a different area to conduct a thorough search.

Zhu Xiaolin donned a pair of white gloves, her gaze firmly fixed as she prepared to move in the northwestern direction when a voice reached her.

"Xiaolin, why don’t I join you?"

A man with slicked hair and immaculately groomed features stood in front of Zhu Xiaolin, grinning, "I’ve just joined the police force. I’m keen on making my contributions to the force. Let me accompany you."

Zhu Xiaolin retorted with a cold humph, refusing outright. "Zhang Jingsong, you’re merely an auxiliary officer, barely even a part of the force. You should focus on learning the ropes and staying out of trouble."

With that, Zhu Xiaolin turned around and walked away. Of all the people in the station, the one person she found most annoying was this newcomer. Zhang Jingsong had a bright future, yet he chose to join the police force. His motives puzzled her.

Zhang Jingsong watched Zhu Xiaolin’s retreating silhouette, swallowed hard, and muttered under his breath, "Stuck-up wench, what’s the big deal? Didn’t I join the force for your sake? Wait till I’ve got you in my bed, I’ll make you beg me!"

As he grumbled under his breath, he wandered off to an isolated spot. If he could find a clue, he was sure Zhu Xiaolin would see him in a new light.

Meanwhile, Ren Feifan had found a few more stems of Spirit Wood Grass. He was in an exceptional mood as he meandered towards the foot of the mountain.

"Hmm, today was fruitful. It was worth the trip. It seems I owe some of my luck to Lin Xiaoxi!"

Lost in thought, Ren Feifan strode on for a few more minutes until a strong smell of blood filled his nostrils.

Hmm? Something happened nearby?

Having killed countless people and beasts on Purgatory Island, Ren Feifan had developed an acute sensitivity towards the smell of blood. He could even determine how long someone had been dead for based on the smell of their blood.

It was clear that not just one person had died nearby!

Ren Feifan followed the smell of blood and suddenly heard a rustling noise to his right.

People here?

Just as Ren Feifan was about to look over, a man with a flamboyant hairstyle, garbed in a uniform, abruptly sprung out.

Upon spotting Ren Feifan, Zhang Jingsong stepped backward reflexively. In this remote wilderness, aside from the police, anyone else must be a killer!

Gritting his teeth at the mere thought of a killer so utterly merciless even in the face of an armed officer, he quickly whipped out a gun, aiming it at Ren Feifan.

"Don’t move!"

A touch of displeasure shadowed Ren Feifan’s eyes. He was just a passerby; why was this man pointing a gun at him?

Moreover, bearing in mind this man’s uniform, he was clearly a rookie officer.

"Put your gun down. I’m just passing by," Ren Feifan said dismissively.

Zhang Jingsong snorted, "Don’t think I don’t know. You’re the killer. You did this to those women, didn’t you? You really are a sick fuck!"

"I’m truly just passing by. Believe it or not, I don’t care!" Ren Feifan huffed in annoyance, turned around, and walked off. He didn’t want to get involved with the likes of this man who would only lower his intelligence quotient.

As for the bloody incident, he had no intention to get involved any further.

Just a few steps later, Ren Feifan heard gunshots behind him!

Bullets zipped past him, piercing the ground at his feet, but fortunately, none of them hit Ren Feifan.

Ren Feifan spun around, anger flickering in his eyes. He instantly covered the distance between him and Zhang Jingsong and slapped the man hard across his cheek. "I was letting it slide, and now you have gotten insolent?"

The slap sent Zhang Jingsong reeling. He couldn’t believe that the killer would have the audacity to slap him when he was holding a gun!

This was unbelievable!
