Chapter 693: Chapter 713: The Disturbing Illusion_1
This black seal exuded an extremely intense murderous aura. Just sitting next to it, Lin Chen couldn’t help but feel a chill in his heart and beads of sweat forming on his back.
Is this a Magical Treasure?
After fumbling around for a while, Lin Chen tried various methods, but the black seal still showed no response.
Out of curiosity, Lin Chen took out his San Sheng Sword and slashed towards the black seal.
Lin Chen just wanted to test its material.
If it broke in one slash, it probably wasn’t anything valuable. After all, neither magical artifacts nor Magical Treasures would be so fragile.
If it wasn’t a Magical Treasure, breaking it wouldn’t matter.
The San Sheng Sword chopped down on the black seal with a ’ding’ sound. Before Lin Chen could take a closer look, an extremely sharp murderous aura suddenly burst from the black seal, hitting Lin Chen directly.
Lin Chen’s face turned pale instantly, his eyes lost their focus, and he fell to the ground with a ’bang’, unconscious.
Lin Chen had no idea how long he had been out when the chaotic sound of battle woke him up, his eyes opened groggily.
As soon as he opened his eyes, Lin Chen was greatly surprised.
Where am I?
Battlefield?
In the wilderness, with no end in sight, there was an endless demonic beast army on one side, covering the sky and ground, and an overwhelming human cultivator army on the other side, dressed in black robes like a dark torrent, with flying swords filling the sky, and various Magical Treasures showcasing their earth-shattering power.
The battlefield was littered with corpses and rivers of blood, like a scene from hell.
Lin Chen was rendered speechless by the shock, what was going on?
Lin Chen wanted to look around and check on himself, but he found he couldn’t move his gaze at all. His perspective seemed fixed, hovering in mid-air, looking quietly down at the earth.
Suddenly a green demon dragon shot out from the rear of the demonic beast army. The dragon’s body was at least several miles long, fierce and ferocious. As it appeared, all the other beasts gave way.
The Green Demon Dragon unleashed a torrent of dragon breath that filled the sky like a phosphorous fire. The cultivators were immediately met with death and injuries, many of them instantly turned into white bones.
The Green Demon Dragon rampaged across the battlefield, killing countless cultivators in its path. Lin Chen’s eyes turned red with rage as he watched this play out.
Lin Chen was human, he was a cultivator, and naturally stood on the human side.
Were there no cultivator experts strong enough to challenge this dragon?
Were they just going to let it slaughter without any resistance?
Just as Lin Chen’s heart was filled with indignation, an angry roar thundered through the battlefield like a rolling thunderstorm.
"Evil creature! Death awaits you!"
Lin Chen suddenly moved.
He flew up into the Nine Heavens above, then swooped down towards the rampaging Green Demon Dragon. As he got closer and closer, Lin Chen was surprised to find that this several miles-long dragon seemed to be getting smaller and smaller in his field of vision.
Lin Chen immediately realized that it wasn’t the dragon that was getting smaller, but "himself" that was getting bigger!
The Green Demon Dragon raised its head and let out a fierce roar towards the Sky Dome, then released another torrent of dragon breath.
The scorching dragon breath rapidly enlarged in front of Lin Chen’s eyes, making his heart suddenly tighten. However, nothing happened. He passed through the fiery dragon breath unharmed, continued downward, and crashed heavily onto the Green Demon Dragon.
"Boom!"
In the huge collision, mountains shook and collapsed, as if the world was destroyed in that instant.
Lin Chen’s vision went black, and the scenes in front of him vanished. His mind became hazy, lost in darkness, not knowing where he was or where he was going.
"Lin Chen!"
"Lin Chen!"
Groggily, Lin Chen was startled awake, his mind swiftly returning to clarity as he suddenly opened his eyes, drenched in sweat, panting as if he’d almost drowned.
Situ Xiu’s face was above his, looking anxiously at Lin Chen, relieved to see him back to consciousness.
"Lin Chen, are you alright? How do you feel?"
Lin Chen took a few more breaths and gradually calmed down. As he looked around, he realized he was lying on the deck of the flying boat.
He sat up, only to find his body extremely weak, drenched in sweat. In front of him, the San Sheng Sword and the black seal lay quietly on the deck.
Looking at Situ Xiu’s face, Lin Chen asked, "What happened?"
Situ Xiu replied worriedly, "Don’t you know? I called out to you earlier because I needed you to help me get something, but you didn’t respond. I had no choice but to stop the flying boat and come looking for you, only to find you lying on the ground, unconscious, your face deathly pale, and even bleeding from your nose. It took me a long time to wake you up..."
Lin Chen mumbled a response, not mentioning the black seal, casually saying, "I might have gotten hurt earlier and couldn’t control myself."
Lin Chen casually put the San Sheng Sword and the black seal into a Spatial Ring, then stood up with Situ Xiu’s help.
"I’ll help you lie down on the bed."
"Alright!"
Situ Xiu helped Lin Chen into a nearby guestroom, placing him on the bed and asking, "Is there anything I can do for you?"
Lin Chen said with a laugh, "I’m a doctor myself. You can go about your business, I’ll be fine after some rest."
After Situ Xiu left, Lin Chen leaned back on the bed, thinking about his baffling experience earlier.
Were his wild thoughts merely an illusion?
Or was it a rare coincidence that allowed him to witness something that had happened in the past?
Most importantly, what was he in that Illusionary Realm?
