Chapter 450: Chapter 470: The Unknown Land of Death _1
Lin Chen opened his phone, quickly scanned this month’s messages, and looked slightly disappointed.
There was no news from Chu Jiaxue.
Chu Jiaxue seemed to have disappeared without a trace, just like a stone sinking into the ocean.
It had been more than two months since Chu Jiaxue left.
"If she comes back within ten days, it means she failed. If not, it would take at least two months, or even up to half a year. The longer she stays, the more benefits she will get..."
Although somewhat disappointed, Lin Chen couldn’t help but feel happy for Chu Jiaxue, recalling what Ouyang Le said when he left.
Although he didn’t know what kind of benefits they were, who would not want more of something that even Ouyang Le considered advantageous?
Lin Chen concentrated his mind and began to check other messages.
There weren’t many messages, nor were they important. After all, Lin Chen did not have many friends, and those close to him, such as Zuo Yingying and the Feng family members, knew that Lin Chen was in closed-door cultivation and would not disturb him.
One message caught Lin Chen’s attention.
"Mr. Lin, this is Han Xuecheng. I tried calling you but couldn’t get through. Please call me back when you have a moment."
Han Xuecheng?
That archaeologist whom Liu Zhenhao had asked him to save?
What did he want?
Did he recover from his illness and wanted to treat Lin Chen to a meal to show his gratitude?
Lin Chen thought for a moment and called Liu Zhenhao.
"Ah, you finally showed up. I thought something happened to you. I even called the Feng family to ask. They told me you were in closed-door cultivation. It scared me..."
Lin Chen laughed: "Did you call me for something?"
Liu Zhenhao replied: "I don’t have any issues. It’s just that the old man I asked you to treat asked for your number. He also asked if I knew where you were. I guess he has something he needs from you?"
Lin Chen asked, "Is it about his illness? Has he not fully recovered?"
"I asked him, and he said he’s completely healthy and has resumed work. But he wouldn’t tell me what it is, so I didn’t want to pry."
Lin Chen laughed: "Alright, he sent me a message too. I’ll give him a call back."
After hanging up, Lin Chen dialed Han Xuecheng’s number, feeling a bit curious. If it wasn’t about his illness, what could the old man want from him?
The call connected.
Han Xuecheng’s voice was filled with surprise and joy: "Mr. Lin?"
Lin Chen laughed: "Elder Han, I was in closed-door cultivation and had my phone turned off. What is it that you needed from me?"
Han Xuecheng asked: "Do you have time right now?"
Although he didn’t know what Han Xuecheng was planning, Lin Chen answered directly, "Yes."
"Could you come to my workplace? There’s something I’d like you to take a look at."
Although Lin Chen found it strange, he thought that with Han Xuecheng’s status, urgently seeking him out couldn’t possibly be for some kind of joke.
"Alright, give me the address and I’ll be there immediately."
"I’ll send it to you right away."
Lin Chen quickly received the location from Han Xuecheng, said goodbye to Feng Yazhen, and followed the direction on his phone.
Half an hour later, Lin Chen arrived at his destination.
"Elder Han."
After more than a month, Han Xuecheng’s once emaciated face had returned to normal, and he looked refreshed and revitalized.
"Mr. Lin, please come in."
Han Xuecheng warmly welcomed Lin Chen into the room, invited him to sit down, and gratefully said, "If it weren’t for your help, my grave would probably be overgrown with grass by now."
After a few modest words, Lin Chen brought up the main purpose of his visit.
"Sir, what is it that you wanted me to see?"
Han Xuecheng asked, "Mr. Lin, have you heard of the Unknown Land?"
Lin Chen was stunned; he never expected Han Xuecheng to ask him about this.
"I’ve heard some things, but it’s all very vague and uncertain."
Han Xuecheng said something astonishing: "When you treated me before, didn’t you ask me if I had come into contact with any newly discovered tombs or ancient coffins?"
Lin Chen nodded, his mood already tinged with anticipation. He had a premonition that Han Xuecheng was about to disclose something shocking and eye-opening.
"Yes."
Han Xuecheng answered: "I suspect that the tomb we discovered is an Unknown Land."
Lin Chen widened his eyes: "Why do you say that? Isn’t the Unknown Land said to be a mysterious place in the human world that ordinary people can’t touch? And it can only be accessed with a special pass? How could it be exposed to you so openly, and as an ancient tomb?"
Han Xuecheng sighed: "The tomb may just be the entrance to the Unknown Land."
Before Lin Chen could ask further, Han Xuecheng swiftly stated his final speculation: "We discovered an ancient tomb, and after entering it, we unexpectedly found a vast underground land, an underground city that could not be explained by science."
Lin Chen stared wide-eyed: "You went in?"
"Yes!"
Lin Chen asked curiously, "Isn’t it said that ordinary people can’t enter the Unknown Land?"
Han Xuecheng said with burning eyes: "Yes, ordinary people indeed cannot enter the Unknown Land. However, we believe that this is a dead Unknown Land."
Lin Chen stared at Han Xuecheng in shock: "There’s a distinction between dead and alive in the Unknown Land?"
