Chapter 2304: Chapter 2324: Familiar Scenes, Performed Again!_1
From within the Light Door, the hand gestured and recalled the prayer beads that had been repelled by the flying sword, its angry voice booming like an enraged King Kong, as powerful as a thunderbolt.
"Who are you, how dare you scheme against my sect’s Master. Watch as I kill you."
The Man in black coldly said, "If I wanted to tell you who I am, why would I wear a mask? This here is the Sea Fury Zone, a place I carefully chose for our confrontation, and you won’t be able to get through, even if you manage to reach out your hand, you can’t stop it."
Xuan Neng knew the Man in black spoke the truth, his voice thunderous, "Junior Brother, I’ll hold him off. You take the others and go first!"
"Okay!"
Kong Neng knew that even if he stayed, he wouldn’t be of much help, so he promptly escorted Wu Jie, the Buddhist Disciple, and several other disciples to head north.
Kong Neng and the others had not gone far when suddenly a figure appeared in midair—an old man with a full head of white hair wearing a mask.
With hands behind his back, he leisurely blocked the path of Kong Neng and the others, "Man in black, your attack was not very sharp."
Kong Neng and the others halted in terror.
Another expert?
The Man in black said coldly, "Stop the nonsense and kill Wu Jie quickly, or it might be too late."
The old man was in no rush and replied, "Colorful clothes went after the Daoist one, this one is mine. Isn’t it nice for us to have one each?"
A flicker of annoyance crossed the Man in black’s eyes, understanding the old man’s meaning of ’one each.’
One for each of the Three Sects’ disciples.
The Man in black sought to kill the Dragon Mountain Sect’s disciple Xuanhezi; the old man in white was after the Buddhist disciple Wu Jie, while Colorful clothes had gone after the Daoist disciple Xuanqing. If they managed to kill these three, the main objective of this operation would be accomplished.
But he might not be able to kill Xuanhezi!
Nevertheless, with the situation as it was, he couldn’t admit any weakness that might undermine his own side’s aura, so he ordered simply, "Attack!"
The great battle erupted once again.
Xuan Neng was very powerful, and with a single hand, he temporarily held off the Man in black, but Kong Neng and the others were out of luck.
How could they withstand this white-robed old man, who also possessed the strength of a Daluo Initial Immortal?
"Scatter and run!"
All the monks instantly transformed into dozens of rainbows, fleeing in all directions.
The old man in white chuckled softly, his laugh reminiscent of a Night Owl’s eerie cry, "Trying to escape? How could you possibly get away? Just let me kill you, and you might suffer less!"
In the midst of his words, the old man in white had already pursued Wu Jie, while simultaneously, a number of interceptors and Sea Demons emerged, chasing after the fleeing disciples.
Kong Neng knew he was no match, but he couldn’t just stand by and watch the old man in white hunt down the Buddhist Disciple. Taking a deep breath, swallowing the bloody taste in his mouth, he pursued at top speed.
"Wu Jie, go to your death, better to die sooner and be liberated!"
Instantly reaching above Kong Neng, the old man in white waved his hand, and a Boundless Blaze appeared out of nowhere, heading straight for Wu Jie.
Trapped within the opponent’s Domain like quicksand, Wu Jie couldn’t escape. As the terrifying flames approached, Wu Jie steeled himself and a page of Sutra floated from his brow, densely inscribed with Buddhist scriptures.
The page of Sutra rose and immediately cast a golden glow, illuminating hundreds of miles around.
The Sutra spun and rose above Wu Jie’s head, like a temporary house built to shelter its Master from the elements.
"First Testament Scripture?"
The old man in white’s eyes displayed greed. Being one of the Three Sects’ disciples, they provided him strong protection for his journey north, not only did he have the company of powerful Elders, but they also wielded such formidable Magical Treasures.
The First Testament Scripture was a treasured artifact of the Buddhist Sect. It was said there were nine pages of it, each containing scripture. However, many had been lost over time, and Buddhism had sought the First Testament Scripture for countless years; they had only found three pages so far.
Since each of the nine pages documented different contents and had different effects, the page in Wu Jie’s hands was for strong defense. Given to Wu Jie, it was meant to ensure his safety.
The thin page of scriptures shone with golden light, the characters seemingly coming to life, leaving the page to confront the endless power of flames.
"Boom!"
The golden light on the Sutra faded, and those previously risen characters appeared lifeless in an instant, returning back to the page itself.
Wu Jie, whose heart and mind were connected to the Sutra, expelled blood from a lightning strike, his face pale as his body, like a meteorite, crashed into the sea.
The old man in white’s Divine Sense locked onto Wu Jie in the seawater, ready to launch another lethal strike, when Kong Neng finally caught up, throwing the kasaya from his body, attempting to envelop the old man in white completely.
With a cold laugh, the old man in white summoned up a blaze, swiftly engulfing the brightly shining kasaya.
The old man in white thwarted Kong Neng’s attack and lifted his hand, ready to strike at Wu Jie, but then abruptly halted.
Huh?
Where did Wu Jie go?
