Chapter 1701: Chapter 1721: Bring People In, Understand First and Then Kill!_1

Lin Chen dived into the pitch-black bottom of the cave, with Cao Hechuan hurriedly following him.

"Young Master, be careful, safety first!"

Lin Chen laughed and said, "Don’t be such a coward, okay? Even though we can’t strut about, dealing with a few demonic beasts should be a piece of cake for a Golden Immortal like you?"

Cao Hechuan caught up with Lin Chen, complaining, "Young Master, don’t be so reckless. What if you get injured or something? I can’t possibly answer to Old Madam!"

As Lin Chen descended, he casually replied, "What do you mean by ’answer to’? She worries too much. How can anything happen so easily?"

The two kept chatting and laughing as they quickly penetrated deeper into the bottomless, giant cave.

It was unclear how this huge cave had formed, but it seemed to carry a history of thousands of years, giving it an antiquated aura.

After descending several kilometers, Lin Chen reached the bottom where layers of rock appeared.

Looking upwards, the once vast cave entrance now looked merely like a well, showing only the sky above.

The cave turned towards the right side. Both men continued flying to the right. After bypassing a bend and travelling some distance, they saw a faint light in the distance.

Surprised, Lin Chen exclaimed, "Hey, there’s light up ahead."

Cao Hechuan chimed in, "Could it be other adventurers? Young Master, why don’t we head back? Misunderstandings could easily arise in such situations."

Lin Chen, aware that every move of theirs was being watched by the others, flew forward pretending to be reckless and answered, "I’m just here to have a look, not steal their stuff. And so what if we meet them? Are they going to kill me to silence me... Hello, anybody here?"

Lin Chen passed through a large mountain cave, finally stopping in front of a dimly black light curtain.

"Hey, come quick, there’s a light curtain blocking our way. This must be a barrier, right? A black barrier. That’s really rare."

Staring at the array barrier in front of him, Lin Chen looked surprised. "How can there be a barrier inside this cave? Are there people living here?"

Cao Hechuan rushed over and gave it a cursory glance. In his heart, he knew that beyond this barrier could be a part of the southern section of the Heavenly Mystery Continent.

Why did they let us fly here without intervening?

Why didn’t they disclose themselves if they were clearly spying on us?

Aren’t they afraid that we might leave and expose this place?

With all his doubts, Cao Hechuan once again attempted to persuade Lin Chen, "Maybe this is the territory of a sect. It’s not polite to intrude, and we could easily get in trouble. Let’s hurry up and leave while no one is stopping us!"

Lin Chen laughed, "Which sect would live in such pitch-dark caves? It seems more likely to be a cave mansion of some big shot. This barrier, is it the protective barrier of the mansion? Do you think I might be the chosen one, meeting a great power in this cave who recognizes my cultivation talent and cries for me to be his disciple, teaches me a unique technique, and helps me become a renowned expert?"

Cao Hechuan, even knowing that Lin Chen was only putting on a show, couldn’t help laughing.

You’ve been reading too many adventure stories, haven’t you?

Though the Immortal Domain is huge and full of Immortal Fates, those who can be called ’great powers’ would only be above the Daluo level, and Thunder Immortal Domain is only a mid-grade Immortal Realm. How could any great powers possibly be here?

Surely those in the Thunder Immortal Domain can reach above Daluo, but usually, they would head to higher realms after they break through to Daluo. Otherwise, they would feel frustrated all the time with a realm beyond Daluo but not enough spiritual Qi to support them.

"Young Master, you should read fewer adventure stories in your daily life. There’s not that much Immortal Fate. Let’s hurry up and leave before we get caught!"

But Lin Chen ignored his advice and started knocking on the black barrier like he was knocking on a door.

"Hey, is anyone in there?"

...

Meanwhile, deep inside the cave.

In the huge hall, hundreds of people sat cross-legged on the ground. In front of them, a white-haired elder was seated on a high stage, imparting teachings with an unworldly aura.

"The Reincarnation Scripture is profoundly mysterious. It’s normal that you can’t understand it right away. Don’t get disheartened. Keep practicing, keep pondering, and you will gain something eventually.

"That’s it for this session. Practice more, and during the next class, I will answer your questions."

"Dismissed!"

Hundreds of cultivators stood up, respectfully paying tribute to the Elder on the stage before orderly leaving the Main Hall.

A middle-aged man walked up to the elder, respectfully paid tribute, and murmured, "Two flies have entered the front entrance of the cave..."

The elder’s expression remained calm. "Just get rid of them then."

The middle-aged man replied: "Two men, one old and one young. The young one seems like a Young Master from a wealthy family, the old one seems like a family guard. The young one fancies himself with his treasure and behaves fearlessly..."

"Treasure?"

The elder lifted his eyes, now showing more interest, "Then bring them here first. We can kill them once we get a clear understanding."

"Yes!"
