Chapter 1557: Chapter 1577: Did You Know Long Ago That We Had Bad Intentions?_1
Cui Hong pouted, "Next time I’ll play the aloof miss, and you play the maid!"
Liu YuQi said with a grin, "If you play the miss, pulling a long face and not saying a word, who would want to deal with us except for those lustful hungry ghosts?"
Cui Hong snorted, unable to retort, and then set her eyes on the unconscious Lin Chen, "Should we kill him?"
"Just because he washed dishes for a few days, is it really necessary?"
Liu YuQi walked up to the small pavilion, grinning at Lin Chen who lay on the cushions: "We’re here for money, not to kill, I don’t want to end up on the notorious people list. Besides, Young Master Lin made us delicacies these past few days. Isn’t it only right that we wash dishes after eating his food? Killing him for this would be heartless."
Cui Hong scoffed coldly, "You talk like you’re a soft-hearted weak woman. When it comes to killing, you’re much quicker than I am."
Liu YuQi said cheerfully, "Those filthy perverts, I’ve killed them as a favor to the public. After all, I only asked for assistance, and have never indicated that I would sleep with them as a repayment."
Cui Hong looked up at the sky, "It’s about time for the Golden Winged Roc to return. Prepare the bait."
Liu YuQi laughed, "Don’t worry, it certainly won’t be able to resist the lure. I’ve already administered ten times the usual dose. Even if it doesn’t faint, as long as its reaction is slowed just a tad, it’s enough. Once we put it in the Ruyi Ring, it’ll have to obey, no matter how powerful it is!"
Cui Hong’s eyes filled with joy, "A Golden Winged Roc like this will probably sell for a fortune. We’re going to be rich!"
After a pause, Cui Hong turned to look at Lin Chen, "For safety’s sake, we should take his spatial ring first."
Cui Hong walked into the small pavilion, stood in front of Lin Chen, and reached out for the spatial ring on his finger.
Just as Cui Hong’s hand was about to touch the spatial ring, Lin Chen’s hand suddenly retracted like a snake, then abruptly twisted in a weird way, avoiding Cui Hong’s hand, and jabbed towards her shoulder.
Sword Qi burst out from between his fingers, incredibly sharp.
Cui Hong hadn’t expected Lin Chen to be conscious. Luckily, she had remained somewhat alert. Seeing something was off, she instantly activated the spell barrier on her pendant.
The Sword Qi hit the barrier directly, shattered it, and pierced through her shoulder mercilessly.
Cui Hong retreated rapidly, her face flushed with surprise and anger, "You weren’t unconscious!"
Liu YuQi was also taken aback, her smile disappearing. She gestured, and a black ruler appeared in front of her as she warily watched Lin Chen.
"Cui Hong, are you okay?"
Cui Hong glanced at her pierced shoulder, her face cold, "My shoulder was pierced, but it’s not a big issue."
Lin Chen smiled, "Although you were indignant with me and wanted to kill me, you ultimately didn’t act. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been your shoulder that the Sword Qi pierced through, but your heart."
Cui Hong gritted her teeth, her eyes filled with a mix of shock and anger. However, she knew that if Lin Chen had truly aimed at her heart in his sudden attack, she might not have been able to dodge it.
With a wounded heart, how could she have blocked it given their close proximity?
"You showed me mercy. Do you know whether I will reciprocate now?"
Lin Chen rose to his feet, walked out of the small pavilion, cast a spell, and the small pavilion shrank and flew back into his hand.
"This thing is quite useful when traveling, so don’t destroy it."
Cui Hong watched as Lin Chen moved unhurriedly, a flicker of doubt in her eyes, "Are you stalling for time, waiting for the Golden Winged Roc to return?"
Lin Chen smiled, "It didn’t return because I told it not to. If I want it to return, it’ll come back promptly."
As Lin Chen finished speaking, the sound of vigorous winds came from the sky. The massive figure of Little Gold, like a ghost, crossed the sky in a flash and arrived overhead. A gust of wind blew, and it landed behind Lin Chen.
Liu YuQi’s face had regained its calm, "You obviously drank my drugged beverage. Why didn’t you faint?"
Lin Chen smiled faintly, "I am an alchemist. If I can’t even distinguish the taste of Three-Day Drunk, haven’t I refined those medicinal pills in vain?"
"An alchemist?"
Liu YuQi was stunned, "You never mentioned that."
Lin Chen chuckled, "Would you reveal everything about yourself in front of two people of unknown origin with bad intentions?"
Liu YuQi frowned, "You’ve known we had nefarious intents from the start?"
Lin Chen grinned, looking at Cui Hong, "Your mouth praised the maid for being diligent but clumsy, not talkative. Yet I really can’t tell where her diligence lies. She can’t do anything without your direction, has no initiative, and is clearly not used to working. She even has some minor emotional issues. For a maid like this not to be beaten to death by her owner is a miracle."
Cui Hong’s face turned red. It turned out that she was the one who had given them away!
The other party had been suspicious from the start, but just hadn’t said anything!
Thinking that she had revealed herself yet continued to pretend to be a maid in front of him, Cui Hong felt so ashamed that she wished she could find a hole to crawl into.
So humiliating!
