An alarm bell rang in Lin Chen’s mind as he instinctively closed his eyes. His heartbeat raced wildly.

I’m doomed!

She’s going to be angry, isn’t she?

She wouldn’t kill me, would she?

Xuanji Fairy spoke in her ethereal voice, "Really? Lying comes at a cost, you know."

A bead of sweat formed on Lin Chen’s brow. He couldn’t lie anymore because he knew that she had seen him, and thus, she surely knew that he had seen her.

If he lied, he would only be paying lip service, hoping she would go along. But it seemed she wasn’t willing to let him off the hook.

"Fairy, it wasn’t my fault. You were invisible before, so I couldn’t see anything. There were movements in the basin, of course I had to look. Who knew your invisibility technique would suddenly fail..."

Xuanji Fairy spoke in her haunting voice, "No man has ever seen my body like you just did, in all my tens of thousands of years. I feel both gratitude and anger towards you, so what should we do?"

With an awkward smile, Lin Chen replied, "It was purely an accident. Why don’t we just forget it happened? I swear I can’t remember anything, really."

Xuanji Fairy scoffed, "Forget it? Do you think I’ll believe that?"

Helplessly, Lin Chen asked, "Then, what do you suggest we do, Fairy?"

Xuanji Fairy was silent for a few seconds before she spoke softly, "Now, there are two choices for you. Either I kill you, or you divorce your two wives, marry me, and you can only be with me from now on..."

Lin Chen fell silent. Then, he opened his eyes, turned his head and looked at Xuanji Fairy’s breathtakingly beautiful face.

"I don’t want to die. It’s my honor to be favored by the Fairy. But I’ve been through life-and-death situations with my wives. Our feelings for each other can’t be easily abandoned. I really can’t bring myself to cut ties with them."

Breaking into a grin, Lin Chen continued, "I get that the Fairy is upset, but considering the help I’ve offered you in the past, can we work something out? Maybe you can beat me half to death to let off some steam, then we go our separate ways. How does that sound?"

Xuanji Fairy slowly extended her index finger towards Lin Chen’s forehead.

Lin Chen didn’t move.

In front of Xuanji Fairy, his hidden cards were useless. The gap in their powers was far too wide.

He remained calm.

Her finger lightly touched Lin Chen’s forehead, wiping off the beads of sweat.

Lin Chen was taken aback. What was happening?

"Okay, you stinky fellow, as hard and disgusting as a rock! I bet you’re cursing me in your mind, aren’t you?"

Xuanji Fairy withdrew her hand, moving back with an air of satisfaction in her voice, "You saw my body, and I gave you a good scare. Consider this our way of settling the score."

Lin Chen’s eyes widened, "Fairy, were you teasing me?"

Xuanji Fairy, now wearing a set of colorful clothes, hovered in mid-air. Her robe fluttered gently, presenting a stunning sight that was too beautiful to look at directly.

"Or what? Did you think I would go back on my words and kill you just because you happened to see my body? However, you must keep this to yourself. Don’t mention it to anyone. If you dare to spill the beans, you’ll have to divorce your wives and marry me. Otherwise, I’ll have no choice but to kill you. Even if I don’t, someone else will."

Relief washed over Lin Chen, and he quickly assured her, "Fairy, don’t worry, I’m not one to gossip."
