Chapter 84 - 84 84 Bandits

84: Chapter 84: Bandits 84: Chapter 84: Bandits Song Yuzhe was massaging Hu Yaqin’s shoulders when the phone in his pocket suddenly rang.

Looking at the caller ID on his phone, Song Yuzhe’s eyes lit up, and his spirits immediately lifted.

“Zhi Wei, what brought me to your mind?

It’s been some days since I’ve seen you…”

Upon answering the phone, Song Yuzhe’s tone instantly became sycophantic and ingratiating.

“Don’t even mention it; these past few days have nearly driven me mad with things not going my way,” grumbled Ni Zhiwei from the other end of the phone.

“It’s the same here, Zhi Wei.

I haven’t been having an easy time lately either,” Song Yuzhe, equally frustrated, responded.

“Come out and have a drink with me.

Ease the mood.

I have something to ask you; we’ll talk more when we meet.”

“Okay, just send me the location, and I’ll head over now.”

After hanging up, a smile rippled across Song Yuzhe’s face.

Just then, an idea had sprung to mind, and he could use Ni Zhiwei’s help to deal with Qin Han.

“Grandma, Ni’s family’s Ni Zhiwei has invited me to discuss a business cooperation; I can’t keep you company today,” said Song Yuzhe with a feigned look of difficulty.

“Business comes first.

My grandson is impressive, makes connections with the young master of the Ni family.

Go on, hurry,” urged Hu Yaqin immediately upon hearing the a name Ni Zhiwei.

After saying goodbye to Hu Yaqin, Song Yuzhe drove towards Queen Entertainment City following the address sent by Ni Zhiwei.

Jiangcheng city.

Qin Han walked along an unfamiliar street, watching the sunset that was slowly descending, feeling an indescribable sense of calm in his heart.

Reflecting on the time since his rebirth, he felt a wave of emotion and a stroke of fortune for having a family in this life…

With that thought, Qin Han took out his phone and made a video call to Song Yuwei.

The moment he dialed, the video was connected, and first to appear on the screen was a chubby, fair baby face.

“Papa, when are you coming back?

I miss you.”

The little one spoke while looking pitifully at Qin Han with his bright, beautiful large eyes.

Qin Han instantly shifted into doting dad mode.

The little one came on strong with such a move – who could resist?

“Daddy will be back tomorrow.

There are still some things to sort out here.

Have you been good at home?”

As soon as the little one heard Qin Han wasn’t coming back until tomorrow, he immediately looked dejected and unhappy.

“So, you won’t be able to have dinner with me today?”

Ever since Qin Han came to this world, the little fellow had grown increasingly clingy to him, which was no surprise!

After all, Qin Han doted on her a lot.

“Today you eat with mommy.

Tomorrow daddy will bring you a toy, okay?” Qin Han said with a smile.

The little one thought for a moment and said, “Okay, but there’s something you have to promise me, as compensation.”

“Compensation?” Qin Han laughed, amused by the little one’s antics.

This little miss was clever and knew how to negotiate terms at such a young age.

“What condition?” Qin Han asked with a smile.

“Yao Yang brother stayed with me to draw today and didn’t finish the homework you left for him.

You can’t punish him when you come back,” the little one said earnestly.

“Just that?” Qin Han was both amused and exasperated but replied, “Okay, daddy won’t punish your Yao Yang brother.”

“Papa is the best!” The little one said, then turned her head with pride to glance at Yao Yang before continuing, “Papa, mommy misses you too, she’s here.”

Song Yuwei scolded the little one by tapping her forehead and took over the phone.

Looking at Song Yuwei’s innocent face, Qin Han chuckled.

“What are you laughing at?” Song Yuwei gave Qin Han a look and spoke, her demeanor full of charm.

“Nothing much, just think you look very pretty!” Qin Han said with a smile.

“Always talking nonsense.” Song Yuwei laughed, clearly happy to hear Qin Han say that.

“Nonsense?

If I didn’t have unfinished business, I would have come back already.

I miss you all.”

“Pfft, you miss us yet you don’t even make a phone call in a day; I thought you had gone missing,” Song Yuwei said coquettishly.

Qin Han replied with a faint smile, “Today was a bit busy.

I haven’t even had a bite to eat since I arrived.

It wasn’t on purpose that I didn’t call.”

“I know, I was just teasing you.

You haven’t eaten all day; you should go and have something to eat.

How can you skip meals when you’re busy?” Hearing that Qin Han hadn’t eaten, Song Yuwei quickly urged.

“I will in a moment!”

“In a moment?

Alright, enough talk, go eat something!” Saying this, Song Yuwei hung up the phone.

Qin Han looked at the mobile screen, which had regained its functionality, and smiled.

This feeling of being cared for was really nice.

“Bang!”

Suddenly, a gunshot interrupted Qin Han’s reverie, and he quickly looked toward the direction of the sound.

A figure in black, with a hood over their head, was holding a handgun and firing at the police officers chasing them while running.

“Bang!

Bang!”

After two gunshots, one officer was hit in the leg; the bullet’s massive force made him lose balance instantly and he fell to the ground.

His comrades hurriedly dragged the injured officer behind a car for cover.

Meanwhile, pedestrians by the road began to scatter in all directions upon hearing the gunshots, with only a few, paralyzed with fear, standing still, not daring to move.

Several sirens went off, and four or five police cars appeared on the opposite side of the street; police backup had arrived.

The figure in black, realizing that the number of police officers was increasing and there was no escape, suddenly pulled over a young girl who was standing nearby, petrified, and used her body as a shield.

Dragging the girl, the assailant backed up to the wall of a building by the side of the street.

Seeing that the figure in black had taken a hostage, the lead police officer gestured with a wave of his hand to halt their advance.

They used their vehicles as cover and surrounded the area.

The two parties were temporarily in a standoff.

Qin Han did not panic like the other pedestrians; instead, he stood calmly behind a car, watching the scene unfold across the street.

“Don’t anyone come closer, I’ve had enough of life anyway.

If anyone comes, I’ll kill this woman right away,” the masked figure in black shouted fiercely at the police across the street.

On the police side, they were urgently contacting a negotiation expert.

The pedestrians by the road were saying that this was a gang of bank robbers.

Out of four, three had been shot dead, and only this one had run out and was cornered here.

A moment later, the negotiation expert arrived.

Qin Han didn’t have much interest in these kinds of incidents and was about to leave.

He decided to stay another day in Jiang City, as Pu Dongxi’s grandfather, Pu Wonyoung, was sure to come.

However, just as Qin Han turned to leave, he heard a scream.

Looking back, he saw the robber, seeing the negotiation expert approach and getting agitated, smash the girl in his arms on the head several times with the gun, eliciting gasps from the crowd.

The girl in the robber’s arms had started to lose consciousness after the heavy blows, and the robber cunningly kept his head hidden behind the girl’s body, preventing the police snipers from taking a clear shot.

From a distance, Qin Han saw the girl’s situation was critical; a couple of the blows had struck the back of her head.

If she wasn’t treated promptly, she would be in mortal danger.
