713: Chapter 713 The Prescription is Wrong!

Only half an hour had passed, and the old man’s son returned to the hospital!

After carefully examining the prescription, Qin Han said, “I believe Wang Xiaobo’s diagnosis and prescription are both without issue.”

“Then what exactly is the problem?” the director of Ruchun Hospital asked.

Qin Han furrowed his brows, thought for a moment, and then reentered the ward to ask the old man, “Excuse my boldness in asking, but did you actually prepare the medicine according to the ingredients listed on the prescription when you took it?”

“Yes!” the old man replied, puzzled, “Doctor, is there some problem?”

Qin Han nodded and said, “Indeed, you slipped into a coma after taking the medicine from this prescription, and as a result, Doctor Wang Xiaobo was taken away by the authorities!”

“My visit here is not only to treat you but also to see if there’s anything wrong with his prescription.

However, after looking at it just now, I’ve determined there’s nothing wrong with it.

If you were my patient, I would prescribe the same recipe.

So I’m wondering, why did your condition worsen after taking the medicine?” Qin Han said with puzzlement.

“Ah?

They even took the lad away?” the old man exclaimed, “But he’s a good person!”

Qin Han, however, shook his head and said, “But now all the evidence points to the prescription he wrote as the cause of the deterioration of your condition!”

Upon hearing this, the old man looked blankly at Qin Han.

Just as Qin Han was about to leave the ward, the old man suddenly called out, “I’ve remembered something!”

Turning swiftly back to the old man, Qin Han asked urgently, “What have you remembered?”

It’s not that Qin Han wanted to absolve Wang Xiaobo, claiming that Wang Xiaobo’s prescription was without fault, which was indeed true; even if he had written it himself, Qin Han would have done the same!

It goes without saying how confident Qin Han was in his own medical skills; therefore, he had determined that Wang Xiaobo was innocent!

Yet, he had to prove Wang Xiaobo’s innocence, or else this matter could ruin a doctor’s entire career,

and not just the career of a doctor with medical integrity.

So, as soon as the old man finished speaking, Qin Han was eager to know if something had happened in the middle.

After pondering for a while, the old man said, “I remember after taking the first batch of medicine I felt my condition was improving, but when I went for a second batch, an elderly doctor in the pharmacy after checking the prescription commented, ‘Who wrote this prescription?

It shouldn’t be written like this; it should be like this!'”

“Then, after I went home and brewed the medicine, I felt a little dizzy.

By the time I got to the hospital to find the young doctor, I was having difficulty breathing.

I don’t know what happened after that!”

Hearing this, Qin Han took a deep breath, nodded, and said, “Thank you!” He then turned and left the ward.

Stepping out of the ward, Qin Han said with a furrowed brow, “I suspect the ingredients at the pharmacy have been switched, but not necessarily with ill intent.”

Afterward, Qin Han recounted what the old man had said.

The director of Ruchun Hospital’s expression stiffened, and he muttered, “Could it have been Old Zhang who prepared the medicine?”

Sun Pinghui inquired, “Explain clearly!”

“We have an old man named Zhang in our hospital who is notorious for his bad temper and stubbornness, and no one gets along with him.

However, since he has previously made contributions to the hospital, I couldn’t dismiss him, so I let him ‘retire’ in the pharmacy.

There have been a few incidents where he criticized prescriptions as incorrect, but he has never taken it upon himself to change any,” the director of Ruchun Hospital said with a wry smile.

Qin Han nodded and said, “You’d better check on that, because if I were treating the old man, I would use this very prescription too.

This prescription was formulated by Wang Xiaobo, who adjusted it based on the theory of ‘the seven injuries’ in traditional Chinese medicine considering the old man’s allergy to a certain medicine in the previous prescription.”

Upon hearing this, the director of Ruchun Hospital said hastily, “Today happens to be Old Zhang’s shift.

Let’s go see him together!”

Qin Han nodded and said, “All right!”

He dared to assert that there was absolutely no problem with Wang Xiaobo’s prescription!

There must have been an issue with another part of the process!

In the ward!

The elderly man asked his son, “Jiaxiang, what on earth is going on?”

“Dad, a lot of things happened while you were unconscious these past two days!” The elderly man’s son immediately told him about the events of the last couple of days.

Upon hearing this, the elderly man became agitated and said, “You reported Dr.

Wang to the authorities and had him arrested?”

“Dad, there’s still no final verdict on the matter, and we haven’t ruled out that his prescription was at fault!” the elderly man’s son replied.

“Foolish!

I’ve had cerebral thrombosis for years, and you concluded that it must be a problem with his prescription?”

“What’s more!

Do you know how many trips Dr.

Wang made up and down the stairs to save me some money?” the elderly man said, stirred up.

Seeing his father’s agitation, the son quickly said, “Dad, don’t worry just yet.

If it isn’t a problem with his prescription, I will definitely apologize to him!”

“You!

Sigh!” The elderly man sighed and spoke.

Qin Han and his group arrived at the pharmacy where an old man was sitting inside the medicine cabinet, looking up at them with confusion and asking, “Director Shao, what are you doing here?”

“Old Zhang, I want to ask you something!” Director Shao said frankly.

Old Zhang glanced at Director Shao and frowning, said, “What do you need to ask this old man who’s about to retire for, and besides, you’re so busy every day, Director Shao, what can’t you say over the phone?”

“Old Zhang, could you not speak with such a temper, please!” Director Shao was somewhat irked by the old man’s retort.

At this moment, Qin Han stepped forward and said, “Old doctor, I would like you to look at this prescription to see if there’s any problem with it!”

“And who are you?” the old man looked at Qin Han and spoke with discontent.

Qin Han was unfazed and replied, “I am a family member of the patient!”

The old man took the prescription, looked at it, and said, “I remember this prescription; it’s not correct at all.

When one medicine could solve the problem, why prescribe two others?

Isn’t that just making the patient spend more money?”

“And this prescription is actually a very common one; how could it have been prescribed incorrectly!”

“Is there a problem?” Qin Han asked, frowning.

This Old Zhang had the air of a pedant, moreover a pedant who had not mastered his craft!

Glancing at Qin Han, the old man said, “However, your family member who took the medicine should be fine, because I replaced it with the correct medication.

Otherwise, there really would have been a problem!”

After saying that, the old man continued, “Nowadays, graduates don’t really learn much, but hey!

People always learn from their failures.

You shouldn’t blame him too much!”

Upon hearing this, Qin Han said coldly, “You replaced the original ingredients in the prescription?”

“Yes!

What’s with that look?

If I hadn’t prepared the medication according to the correct prescription, there would have been problems already!” Old Zhang said, frowning back at Qin Han.
