“Early this morning, someone came in a hurry to get medicine!” Xu Bingyan said, puzzled, not understanding why Qin Han was so agitated.
Upon hearing this, Qin Han asked again, “What kind of person was it?”
“It was a middle-aged man!” Seeing the urgency in Qin Han’s eyes, Xu Bingyan hurriedly replied.
“A middle-aged man?” Qin Han frowned.
“Yes!
A middle-aged man!
He looked to be in his forties!” Xu Bingyan said.
Qin Han nodded, then went back to sit down at the triage desk without saying a word.
What shocked him was not the prescription, but the handwriting on the prescription!
Qin Han’s mother had left him when he was very young, but after all, Qin Han was already eight years old by then, and he could remember many things.
If he hadn’t learned from Jiang Wan that his mother was a doctor, Qin Han wouldn’t have been so excited, because he felt the handwriting was very familiar from the start!
When Jiang Qing left Qin Han, she only left behind a letter saying goodbye, which to this day is still kept in the Sect Leader’s room of the Holy Medicine Sect; whenever Qin Han missed his mother, he would take it out and look at it!
So, Qin Han remembered his mother’s handwriting clearer than anything else.
To be exact, he remembered everything limited that was related to his mother very clearly!
Because that was the only memory he had of his mother here!
The handwriting on the prescription he saw earlier was very familiar to him; it must have been his mother’s handwriting!
But why would it be a middle-aged man?
Qin Han quickly surmised that this middle-aged man might have been someone his mother had saved.
Therefore, the figure he saw this morning could very likely be his mother!
With this thought, Qin Han sprang to his feet and turned, rushing out of the medical hall.
The crowd watched Qin Han’s departing figure, all at a loss.
In the hearts of everyone, Qin Han had always been an image of composure; he had never been as flustered as he was today.
Watching Qin Han’s retreating figure, Zhang Yalin furrowed her brows and said, “What’s gotten into the mighty demon king today?”
“It feels like Mr.
Qin must have encountered something?
That prescription seems very important to Mr.
Qin!” Xu Bingyan also spoke up.
“Get back to work, don’t make wild guesses!” Zhang Henian said.
Dugu Wushang stood thoughtfully at the doorway, seemingly contemplating something, while Zhong Yuanliang’s face was one of surprise.
In his mind, Qin Han had always been an unwavering figure, even if the sky should fall.
But today’s Qin Han made him realize for the first time that Mr.
Qin, who appeared invincible to others, was actually just an ordinary person!
Qin Han went to the place where he had seen a figure this morning that he suspected to be Jiang Qing; he canvassed nearly all the surrounding shops and streets but found no one who had seen her.
It wasn’t until Qin Han entered the pharmacy Jiang Qing had visited earlier that, when the staff heard Qin Han’s description, they immediately said, “There was such an auntie who came to buy Chinese medicine; I even told her to go to a hospital or Huqing Street’s medical hall!”
Upon hearing this, Qin Han’s hands trembled with excitement, and he inquired further if the staff knew which direction Jiang Qing went, but the staff hadn’t paid attention, leaving Qin Han somewhat regretful.
However, having confirmed that it was indeed his mother made Qin Han very happy, his only worry was whether Jiang Qing would leave Zhongzhou and whether the prescription was for her own use!
Because the effects of the medicinal materials on the prescription were for treating conditions caused by overexertion; the fact that Jiang Qing needed such potent medicine suggested something very serious!
At that moment, Qin Han selfishly hoped that it was his mother treating someone else’s illness!
Meanwhile, in a civilian house not far from Qin Han, Jiang Qing had already prepared the medicine, and after taking it, the middle-aged man’s mother fell into a deep sleep.
Watching his mother no longer cough, the middle-aged man’s face broke into a smile.
He turned and left the room, then suddenly dropped to his knees and knocked his head on the ground three times in front of Jiang Qing, startling him!
Jiang Qing hastily helped the middle-aged man up, laughing as he said, “There’s no need for such grand gestures.
You’ve sheltered me these past few days; it is I who should thank you!
As a doctor, it’s only natural to treat and heal!”
“No, no, no, you’ve saved my elderly mother, you’re a savior to me, Tian Qi!” the middle-aged man said.
Jiang Qing looked at the middle-aged man and was reminded of his own child, who must now be just a few years younger than him.
It was as if there was a connection between them, Jiang Qing turned in the direction where Qin Han was.
In this bustling city, mother and son were both thinking of each other, as if there was some kind of telepathy between them!
That was also why Jiang Qing had come to Zhongzhou!
Only he had been in the mountains for so many years and had long since lost contact with his friends.
Qin Han stayed in place for a moment longer before finally leaving!
When Qin Han went to pick up Song Yuwei, she could sense that his mood was still low.
After returning home, Qin Han retreated to his study alone.
After pondering for a moment, Qin Han pulled out his phone.
“Sect Leader!” a respectful voice came from the other end of the line.
Qin Han took a deep breath and said, “Yimu, has your master ever taught you divination?”
“Yes, what would the Sect Leader like to divine?” asked Yimu.
“Finding someone!” Qin Han said flatly.
Upon hearing this, Yimu nodded and said, “Sect Leader, please tell me your birth details and those of the person you’re looking for!”
Qin Han then relayed his and his mother’s birth details to Yimu, who said to wait a moment before hanging up.
At this point, Qin Han was feeling a sense of desperation, yearning to find his mother.
A separation of a whole thirty years!
Song Yuwei walked into the study, came up to Qin Han, and asked, “Still thinking about Aunt Jiang?”
“Mhm!” Qin Han nodded.
“Don’t worry, we’ll definitely find her!” Song Yuwei consoled him.
Qin Han nodded again, staying silent.
“This is the first time I’ve seen you like this,” Song Yuwei said as she sat in Qin Han’s lap, resting her entire head on his chest.
Holding Song Yuwei close, Qin Han spoke softly, “She’s very important to me!
She’s my family!”
“I know,” Song Yuwei whispered back, “Sometimes I really miss my mother too!
I understand that feeling!”
“But, my husband, you have to realize that even though you’re distressed now, finding a person takes time.
Rather than feeling down, you’d better focus your energy on searching for Aunt Jiang, don’t you think?” said Song Yuwei gently.
On hearing this, Qin Han was momentarily stunned, then he laughed.
Song Yuwei was right; instead of worrying here, he should be thinking of ways to find his mother!
“Thank you!” Qin Han said with a smile.
Seeing Qin Han smile, Song Yuwei’s face lit up with a smile too.
That’s how it is between spouses – sometimes, just a few words can rekindle the other’s spirits.
And the luckiest thing for a man is to have his woman’s tender affection when he’s heartbroken!
