Chapter 573 - 573 573 Rumors

573: Chapter 573 Rumors 573: Chapter 573 Rumors “These are Jiang Cui and Li Fei.”

“This is my husband, Qin Han.” Song Yuwei began the introductions one by one.

Qin Han shook hands with the two women separately.

Li Fei was very amiable, gave a faint smile, not too affectionate, but not distant either.

As for Jiang Cui, she merely glanced at Qin Han, her eyes showing a bit of disdain, especially after seeing the car keys in Qin Han’s possession, her disdain became even more intense.

“So the rumors were true after all!” Jiang Cui spoke up.

Mu Xueru was taken aback, then responded, “What rumors?”

“The ones about Yuwei marrying some commoner due to pressure from her foster mother, and even adopting a child, right?

Yuwei!”

“When Cui Xiaoli told me, I couldn’t believe it.

You must remember how Yu Wei was the pristine Ice Princess back in school, never giving any man the time of day,” Jiang Cui said, her tone clearly reveling in another’s misfortune.

Hearing Jiang Cui’s words, Song Yuwei looked worriedly at Qin Han, then displayed a pleading expression.

Qin Han’s expression remained calm, as if he hadn’t seen anything.

Without asking, he knew that Jiang Cui was probably one of his wife’s jealous rivals; it was very likely that the man she once liked had fancied his wife.

Aside from Song Yuwei, Jiang Cui was undoubtedly the most beautiful among the four girls.

Jealousy is, after all, a woman’s nature.

Not to mention any melodramatic plots, just being prettier than her could be a reason for jealousy.

Of course, this only showed that the woman was narrow-minded.

A truly sensible woman never envies others but strives to improve and better herself.

Many things cannot be obtained through jealousy alone.

Like beauty, talent, charisma, and the man by her side.

In fact, a woman with a jealous heart, whether before or after marriage, finds it difficult to achieve happiness.

Even if she appears happy on the surface, the true grievances are known only to herself.

For instance, a jealous woman after marriage, upon seeing others possess what she lacks, especially those who were once her equals, often ends up tormenting her own husband.

“Look at so-and-so’s husband, how much he earns a month, buys whatever he wishes!”

“Look, others are driving cars, and you have nothing!”

“Look at how grand their house is!”

“Why do others have it, and we don’t?”

Jealous women fall into two categories, those who are independent and those who are not.

Those who aren’t independent tend to project their jealousy onto their husbands, constantly demanding he do this or that.

Whereas independent women, when they desire what others possess, at least make an effort on their own.

However, in today’s society, for a woman to attain substantial economic power and connections requires far greater sacrifice than it does for a man.

Thus, whether a woman is independent or not, once jealousy takes over, ultimately, she is the one who suffers.

Qin Han naturally wouldn’t bother to argue with such people, of course, only if it were appropriate!

“Let’s go!” Song Yuwei glanced at the time and spoke with a smile.

She didn’t want to continue the conversation, not because she was embarrassed, but because she was afraid of getting angry.

What did it matter if they knew?

Qin Han might have been somewhat of a scoundrel back in the day, but now he practically worshipped her!

Not to mention that there’s no need for comparison between people; even if compared, whose husband would hand over five hundred million in gold for his wife to manage without reservation?

“Everyone should be here by now.” It seemed that among the women, only Song Yuwei had brought a family member, so she naturally didn’t ask others about it.

As the group ascended the stairs, they happened to meet the manager of the Shengdu Hotel.

On seeing Qin Han, the manager’s mouth fell open, wanting to greet him; however, seeing Qin Han gently shake his head, he dared not speak.

It wasn’t that Qin Han was pretending anything, but rather, he didn’t want to draw too much attention to himself.

The others didn’t notice this scene, but Song Yuwei did and merely smiled faintly.

Li Fei, on the other hand, gave Qin Han a meaningful look, feeling that the man Song Yuwei had brought along was indeed extraordinary.

As for Jiang Cui, she carried herself with her head raised as if she was a swan, too proud to regard anyone.

Meanwhile, Mu Xueru and Huanhuan were whispering to Song Yuwei, occasionally erupting into laughter.

On the fourth floor in the banquet hall, the group of six, five women and one man, arrived as expected.

“Yu Wei, Xueru, Li Fei, Jiang Cui, Huanhuan, all the beauties from our college are here now, haha,” a man who had been waiting at the door said with a laugh, clearly delighted to see them.

Qin Han glanced subtly at Song Yuwei, his eyes clearly conveying, “How could a reunion be without men?”

Song Yuwei simply rolled her eyes at Qin Han, giving him a ‘you win’ look.

While they were exchanging expressive glances, the man at the door, looking puzzled, asked, “This person doesn’t seem to be our classmate, right?”

“He’s Yu Wei’s husband; he came with her,” said Mu Xueru as she introduced him.

“Oh, I see.

No wonder I hadn’t seen him before.” The man laughed heartily and quickly ushered them inside, “Please, come in.

We were just waiting for you folks.”

Once inside, the group entered the banquet hall which was already crowded with dozens of people, both men and women, chatting in small groups.

However, only one man was surrounded by the most people.

Without asking, it was clear this person was the most successful among the classmates.

It could be by his own merits, or perhaps through his father’s influence.

If it’s the former, then it’s an achievement; if the latter, it’s also a skill, a skill of being born into the right family.

The man who was enthusiastically talking lit up when he saw Song Yuwei appear, her beauty unquestioned.

In any crowd, she always stood out like a crane amongst chickens, impossible not to be noticed.

“Yu Wei, long time no see,” the man hurried over and said with a smile, his eyes brimming with excitement, perfectly portraying the joy of a heartfelt reunion.

“Yes, long time no see, Yang Hong,” Song Yuwei nodded, neither too friendly nor too distant.

Qin Han couldn’t help but give Song Yuwei a thumbs up secretly.

After all, as a businesswoman, her greeting was smooth and polished, making it comfortable for everyone, unlike himself who could get confrontational at the drop of a hat!

“So in your eyes, Yang Hong, there’s only Song Yuwei?

You didn’t notice the rest of us alive folks?” Mu Xueru pretended to be angry, huffing a bit.

“How could that be, Xueru, Huanhuan, Li Fei, and is this Jiang Cui?” When he noticed Jiang Cui, Yang Hong’s eyes brightened, but after glancing at Song Yuwei, he couldn’t help but shake his head.

This subtle movement did not escape Jiang Cui’s notice.

After seeing Song Yuwei, her jealousy grew; wherever Song Yuwei was, Jiang Cui felt overshadowed.

“Class leader Yang, I suggest you stop thinking about Yu Wei.

She’s here with her husband, you know,” Mu Xueru said smilingly, clearly with some intention behind it.

Mu Xueru was aware of Qin Han’s temper and, based on her observations and what Song Yuwei had told her, this guy was excessively indulgent towards Song Yuwei.

Mu Xueru was worried that Yang Hong might say something inappropriate and annoy Qin Han, so she quickly pointed out Qin Han’s relationship.
