However, Qin Han didn’t pay much attention; he wasn’t someone with much curiosity.

Moreover, everyone has their own story, and it was hard to be curious about them all.

After wandering around the entire playground with Diudiu, looking at the tired little one, Qin Han smiled and said, “Diudiu, shall we go rest for a bit?

Then we can go pick up mom for dinner!”

“Okay, okay!” As soon as the little one heard that they were going to pick up mom for dinner, a delighted smile immediately appeared on his chubby little face.

In Diudiu’s heart, being able to play in the playground with both dad and mom by his side, without them fighting, was the best!

That’s the psychology of children; they don’t really ask for too much.

But it’s these small demands that many families can’t satisfy.

Like the previous owner of this body, he wasn’t the only one who made this family’s life arduous.

And even a good person can neglect their child’s feelings due to the pressures of survival.

Because in this world, the majority are still struggling to survive.

Only when the problem of survival is solved can people begin to consider living well, and most are still stuck at the stage of surviving.

Qin Han and the little one had just sat down when a man carrying a child also arrived at the rest area.

Looking up, Qin Han realized it was the man he had just seen.

Only this time, seeing him up close, Qin Han could clearly see that the man’s face was etched with hardship, battered by life, but his eyes were filled with intense love when he looked at his child!

Giving a nod to Qin Han, the man sat down with his child, took out a water bottle from his backpack, and handed it to the little girl beside him.

The little girl looked to be about four or five years old, younger than Diudiu, and after taking a sip of water, she curiously looked at Qin Han and Diudiu.

Seeing his daughter look at Qin Han, the man smiled and said, “Say hello to uncle and sister!”

“Dudu!

Sister!” the little one said in a sweet, childish voice.

Qin Han smiled and nodded.

Diudiu immediately hopped down from his seat and ran to the little girl, taking her small, smooth hand in his, his face beaming with joy.

Children like other children, and Diudiu was especially so!

After a brief interaction, the two children instantly started playing together.

“It’s my daughter’s first time at the amusement park!” the man said softly, watching the playing children.

Hearing this, Qin Han nodded but remained silent, unsure of what to say.

He simply waited quietly for what would come next.

Humans are strange creatures; sometimes there are things they’d rather share with a stranger than with those closest to them.

“My wife and I are among the lowest strata in this city.

Things have been tough since we got married, we’ve been living beyond our means, drowning in debt, with no one to help look after our child.”

“But we still have high spirits, I believe I can provide them with a better life!”

“My wife is a preschool teacher.

Because the kindergarten organized home visits for teachers today, the child was very tired following her mom around; mom was tired, the child was tired, too young to go without a nap during the day.”

“So my wife called me, wanting me to take our daughter to my workplace for a while, and then come back to pick her up after she finished her work!”

As he spoke, the man pulled out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and seemed to think of something as he offered one to Qin Han.

“Thank you, but I don’t smoke,” Qin Han said indifferently.

“Because there’s no one to look after her, my daughter is quite attached to her mom.

When I went to pick her up, she wouldn’t come with me no matter what.

I still had work to do back at the office, and my leave was almost over; I was getting a bit irritable!”

“I forcefully took the child away from her mom quite aggressively.

In the car, she kept crying for her mom and even tried to reach for the car window; it startled me, and then I was furious.

I couldn’t control my emotions and slapped her bottom a few times.”

“After hitting her, I looked at my daughter’s face and suddenly felt a wave of heartache, and tears just started to stream down!”

“What did the child do wrong?

She just wanted her mom!”

“The one at fault was me.

I couldn’t control my emotions because of the pressures of life.

She’s so young, and yet I hit her!”

The man tossed away the cigarette butt and lit another one.

Qin Han had been silent from beginning to end, simply listening quietly to the man’s story.

He knew that being a silent listener was the best thing he could do at the moment.

“When I arrived at work, my emotions crumbled.

I’ve been so busy with work, trying to earn money, that I’ve spent so little time with my child.

My child has never been to an amusement park, not because I’m busy but because the tickets here are expensive!”

“Seeing the tears on my daughter’s face, I immediately stopped thinking about anything else, took leave, and brought her here.

Watching her have fun, the guilt in my heart deepened, and I felt even more the injustice!”

“I’ve worked so hard, why can’t I give my family a good life!?”

After finishing, the man actually started sobbing quietly.

Qin Han listened to the man’s suppressed sobs and felt rather emotional.

This man couldn’t even cry freely, what immense pressure he must be bearing inside.

But from another perspective, it also showed that this man was responsible!

“Life was never fair to begin with!

Some are born with a silver spoon, while others are destined to scrabble in the dirt for food!” Qin Han said calmly.

“The saying that hard work always leads to success is actually deceiving!”

“Sometimes, hard work doesn’t mean you’ll get good results!”

“But should that stop us from working hard?

If you work hard, there’s a glimmer of hope, without effort, there’s nothing!”

The man had stopped crying and said somewhat shyly, “Sorry, you caught me in an embarrassing moment!”

“I understand!” Qin Han said with a smile.

“I can tell from your words that you are a very responsible man!”

The man wiped away the remaining tears from his face and said with a smile, “Isn’t that how a man should be?”

“You’re right!” Qin Han nodded in agreement.

Then, the two fell into silence.

Qin Han didn’t say he wanted to help the man.

Perhaps if he offered, the man would accept because of his wife and child, but then he would lose the last bit of his dignity.

By doing that, Qin Han wouldn’t be helping him; instead, he would be rubbing salt into his wounds.

So sometimes, what you think is helping may not be the case in reality.

“How long has it been since you had a health check-up?” Qin Han suddenly asked.

Caught off-guard, the man replied with a smile, “I don’t have social security.

A full check-up costs a lot, and besides, it’s unnecessary!”

“Is it really unnecessary?” Qin Han asked lightly.

The man turned and looked at Qin Han in surprise, with a hint of panic in his eyes, “I don’t understand what you’re getting at!”

“I am a doctor!

A doctor with decent medical skills!” Qin Han said calmly, the implication of his words clear without further explanation.

“If your family’s life gets better in the future, but you are not around…” Qin Han did not continue.

The man gave a bitter smile, “I know what you’re saying, but…”

“When you have time, come to Huqing Street’s Qin’s Clinic.

It’s on me!

It’s not charity, it’s understanding between men!” Qin Han said lightly, then stood up and walked over to Meimei.

“Meimei, we’re going to pick up Mom from work now.

Is it okay to say goodbye to the kids?”

“Goodbye, little sister!”

Hearing Qin Han’s call, Meimei said to the little girl.

The little girl seemed disappointed as Meimei was leaving, presumably because she rarely gets to go out to play.

“In a few days, you’ll see your sister again!” Qin Han said with a smile.

In the capital.

“Call the Six Generals of the Battle Hall over!” the black-clothed, masked person said to the young man beside him.

Startled, the young man asked softly, “Sect Leader, is there a new assignment?”

“The one who went to Zhongzhou…

doesn’t seem to be coming back…”
