Chapter 1009: 1008: The one courting death is here
Tang Feng blocked out the Six Senses, only opening his soul in anticipation.
Divine Martial City had just been newly established, but its defenses were crafted by Tang Feng himself over a year.
The defensive capabilities reached the Supreme Level, though the city residents were unaware that if anyone attacked the city or if its buildings were damaged, the formation would activate.
Currently, there were Kun Eagles and a Purple Gold Dragon Eagle in the sky, and on Yueyun Peak, there was a large contingent of Sword Eagles, ready to cover a hundred miles in a blink of an eye and provide support at any moment.
Therefore, Tang Feng hadn’t activated the defense shield. Divine Martial City was so beautiful that it was bound to make some people envious, with many wanting to take it for themselves.
Tang Feng was a stranger to the entire Divine Realm, with no reputation to speak of; defeating the elder of Medicine God Valley hadn’t spread beyond, so there was no real commotion.
Because of this, groups harboring wicked and ulterior motives had come to Divine Martial City.
One must admit, once inside this place, one really doesn’t want to leave.
The first batch comprised ten people. They stopped on the outskirts of the forest surrounding the city, staring at the brightly lit skyscrapers, each one dumbfounded on the spot.
Like country folk coming to a city, the architectural style left them shaken.
To be honest, it was far more beautiful than the Floating City.
Moreover, the overall planning and strategic location made it like a city nestled within a forest, perfectly fused with nature.
What a great place.
“Boss, this is ours now,” one person laughed.
“Right, how powerful can some unknown kid be? Let’s just kill him.”
The leading middle-aged man shook his head, “Don’t be careless. Do you think just anyone can create such a miracle? I dare say this city is destined to become one of the most famous cities in the Divine Realm and a place that countless people will yearn for.”
“Boss, you’re at least the City Lord of a medium-sized city. Divine Martial City isn’t even half the size of our city. Don’t overestimate it. I see no technical challenge here. If we wanted to, we could construct the same,” another said.
The middle-aged man agreed, “That’s all true, but success tends to favor the one who first gets the food.”
“Let’s go take a look first,” the middle-aged man said as he led the way to the city gate.
The gates of Divine Martial Sect were entirely open.
It’s just that they didn’t know that once they entered the city gates, they were instantly monitored by a network. Once inside, they wouldn’t be able to hide.
Tang Feng followed at a distance. Since the other party hadn’t acted yet, he temporarily held his ground, though he kept their movements under surveillance.
In the control room, Tang Feng watched them enter a hotel, so he had two Divine Puppets keep a close eye on them.
Meanwhile, on the screen, Tang Feng saw over a dozen Divine Ships appear in the Divine Ship Field outside the city.
The airspace over Divine Martial City wasn’t open to Divine Ships. Though disgruntled, these people didn’t want to ruin the nascent city.
They all treated Divine Martial City as if it were their own city.
However, a sudden influx of over ten forces made Tang Feng cautious; those who came were all of the Divine Emperor Realm, and indeed, there wasn’t a single Emperor Realm being among them.
Tang Feng consulted a subordinate specialized in gathering information about recent events in the Divine Realm.
Soon, he heard of a relatively major event.
The East Wave Sea Area had discovered a Secret Realm passage leading to the Outer Domain. It was now under the control of the Divine Realm Alliance, which was recruiting Divine beings of the Emperor Realm from all over the Divine Realm to explore the space on the other side of the wormhole. Anyone could participate.
The final quota was a thousand people.
They would explore the outer space through the wormhole, and all resources obtained would belong to them, but they must join the Divine Realm Alliance and become a Divine Mercenary Guard.
How does one sign up?
One must personally go to Hai Kong City in the East Wave Sea Area.
The time frame was within a month; there were still twenty days left. It would take only ten days to get there from Divine Martial City, or just three days if using the Transmission Array of another city.
Tang Feng nodded, then returned to the City Lord Mansion.
That night, as expected, trouble came.
In Tang’s Hotel, a group of people was causing a scene, surrounded by a crowd of city residents watching. The other side was made up of Divine Emperors, and they dared not make a move.
Some astute individuals had already grasped what was happening.
Now it was up to the City Lord to see how he’d handle it.
Tang Feng came quickly because any disturbance would result in losses for him, so he had to handle it decisively.
“Boss.” When the staff at the front desk saw Tang Feng arrive, they breathed a sigh of relief.
They were locals hired from the city, just some young women with low cultivation levels. Confronted by such powerful experts, they could hardly speak, standing there was an accomplishment in itself.
The dozen or so people looked at Tang Feng and, realizing he was of the Emperor Realm, laughed arrogantly, “You’re the boss, right? Your service here is terrible. I paid for enjoyment, not to suffer. Honestly, we’re very dissatisfied.”
“Do what you think best,” they continued to emit pressure, but Tang Feng wasn’t affected in the least.
“What do you gentlemen want?” Tang Feng asked with a smile.
“With service like yours, you still ask what we want? Do you believe we’ll tear down your hotel?” one shouted loudly.
“You can try,” Tang Feng replied sternly, his sharp gaze sweeping over them, causing the Divine Emperors to fall silent in fear.
For some reason, one of them felt he almost lost his life under that gaze; this kid is peculiar, so he dared not speak.
“Sir, do you not intend to take responsibility?” inquired the middle-aged man with a smile.
“I always welcome those who truly understand how to enjoy. As for those with ulterior motives, it’s better to leave early,” Tang Feng replied calmly.
Ha—
“Kid, doing business like this is a sure way to lose money.”
“That’s not for you to worry about. Please, leave,” Tang Feng had their lodging fees refunded.
Whether they took it or not was no longer his concern.
Not far away, another group was observing the situation. One young man among them smiled and nodded, “Interesting.”
The middle-aged man’s smile vanished, a cold look settling on his face, “Kid, let me teach you how to do business,” he said, waving his hand.
Two strong men stepped forward, seemingly intent on smashing things.
Sure enough, one walked straight to the front desk, aiming a punch to shatter the blue jade counter.
Another moved towards the main door to dismantle the jade door.
Tang Feng planned to establish his authority; since these people made the first move, it made things simpler.
Just when they were about to act, they suddenly froze.
Uh!
“What’s wrong with you two?” the middle-aged man’s brows furrowed in bad premonition.
Suddenly!
Flames burst forth on the two men’s bodies, instantly engulfing them until they were reduced to ashes in a flash.
Such powerful Divine Fire!
The All Gods couldn’t help but marvel.
The troublemakers were filled with fear; those two had cultivation equal to theirs, yet they didn’t know how they died.
What terrified them even more was realizing they were boxed in, unable to retreat.
The middle-aged man was afraid; he was planning to participate in the selection and didn’t want to die here.
“Sir, we were impetuous. I am willing to compensate,” he had no choice but to lower his head.
“Oh, so it wasn’t the hotel’s fault?”
“Naturally not, it was a misunderstanding,” the middle-aged man replied with some embarrassment.
“Oh, it was a misunderstanding? You should’ve said so earlier. You scared us with those two. We’re not good with scares. My heart is still pounding, and my spirit has taken a hit. I fear I can’t recover quickly,” Tang Feng sighed.
The All Gods couldn’t help but chuckle; this was clearly a demand for interest.
