Chapter 1772: Chapter 1771: Will you be my bodyguard?

"If you keep staring, I’ll gouge out your eyeballs." Qin Yitian glared at Lin Dong and said viciously.

Lin Dong snapped out of it and chuckled, "What if I told you I wasn’t looking at your figure? Would you believe me?"

"Believe you? Hah! If you’re not staring at my figure, what are you looking at? My clothes, maybe?" Qin Yitian sneered.

"Alright then," Lin Dong shrugged lazily, not bothering to explain. "You’re pretty. Whatever you say goes."

"Pfft~~" Qin Yitian was both angry and amused by Lin Dong’s cheeky reply.

She couldn’t decide whether to laugh or scold!

Angry because Lin Dong actually admitted to ’being a perv’ and checking her out.

Amused because Lin Dong’s words were oddly entertaining—complimenting her while shamelessly playing the rogue.

"Aren’t you afraid I’ll gouge your eyes out?" Qin Yitian put her hands on her hips and huffed coldly.

Lin Dong replied, "You’re so gorgeous; surely you wouldn’t be that domineering. Just because I take one look, you’d gouge my eyes out?"

"Oh, I am just that domineering!" Qin Yitian declared, and suddenly, with a "swoosh," she swung at Lin Dong.

Of course, she wasn’t really planning to gouge his eyes out; though she was assertive, she wasn’t a truly cruel and unreasonable woman.

Gouging someone’s eyes out for just staring? That would be far too vicious—she was merely bluffing.

As for making a move now, it was simply to slap Lin Dong and teach him a lesson.

But just as she reached Lin Dong, readying her hand to strike his face, Lin Dong swiftly dodged with a "swoosh."

Qin Yitian’s eyes widened in surprise, "You’re actually a martial artist!"

At that moment, Lin Dong unleashed the aura of a Grandmaster’s strength. Qin Yitian sensed it instinctively and added:

"And not just any martial artist—a Grandmaster. Impressive! Judging by your age, you can’t be more than twenty-four or twenty-five. Achieving Grandmaster-level strength at this age... it seems your martial talent is extraordinary."

Lin Dong purposefully maintained his roguish demeanor, grinning mischievously. "What’s the matter, beautiful? Smitten with me? Planning on offering yourself to me?"

Qin Yitian almost spat out a mouthful of water in shock. "Why are you so full of yourself?! You’re just a Grandmaster martial artist; do you really think that’s enough for me to be interested?"

"Not long ago, I encountered someone in their early twenties who had already reached the pinnacle of Earth Realm—a true monster of talent. Even someone of that caliber couldn’t make me fall head over heels."

"You? You wish!"

The person in their early twenties who had reached the pinnacle of Earth Realm she mentioned was—most likely—Lin Dong himself.

Lin Dong felt a wave of awkwardness internally, but outwardly he continued to project his carefree, devil-may-care persona.

"You never know," he said with an annoying smirk, shrugging. "Maybe I’m exactly your type."

Qin Yitian snorted and replied, "I honestly feel like slapping you twice right now."

Lin Dong cheekily countered, "They say hitting is affection, scolding is love..."

"Get lost!" Qin Yitian shot forward with another "swoosh," this time moving faster, aiming for Lin Dong’s cheek.

"Swoosh!" Lin Dong quickly dodged again.

And so, the two of them began chasing each other around the shop.

The chaotic chase didn’t last long, though, as another person entered the ’Jewelry King’ shop at that moment.

This newcomer was a man with a broad chest and a thick waist. He was about twenty-eight or twenty-nine years old, with rippling muscles. His arms were as robust as iron boards, and the sinewy muscles on them looked like knotted vines.

Walking to the door, he spotted Qin Yitian and couldn’t help but speak up: "Miss Yitian, what a coincidence! Running into you here."

"Huh? What’s going on here? What did this kid do to offend you? Want me to crush him?"

When Qin Yitian saw this burly man suddenly appear, her expression subtly shifted.

The man’s identity was no ordinary one. He was none other than Wei Hu, the son of Wei Jiulong, the First Vice Leader of the Nanyang Martial Union!

The Wei family was an elite martial arts family in Nanyang. Even her brother Qin Feng, the leader of the Dan Alliance, treated the Wei clan with significant respect.

The Wei family had been a prestigious martial arts family in Nanyang for centuries. Although her brother Qin Feng was a rising star of Nanyang, he still held a degree of regard and caution toward these long-established clans.

As for this generation’s Wei family prodigy, Wei Hu, his martial talent was undeniable. By the age of twenty-eight, he had already reached the peak of Half-Step Earth Realm martial artists—just one step away from Heavenly Realm entry.

Wei Hu had once attended alchemy banquets hosted by her brother Qin Feng alongside his father Wei Jiulong. After meeting Qin Yitian there, Wei Hu had been relentlessly pursuing her.

Even her brother Qin Feng hadn’t opposed this pursuit.

Wei Jiulong, Wei Hu’s father, had been immensely supportive, seeing a potential alliance between the Wei and Qin clans as a powerful union.

Qin Feng hadn’t explicitly agreed to a marriage alliance but hadn’t rejected it outright either. His ambiguous stance implied that if Wei Hu could win Qin Yitian’s affection, he wouldn’t intervene to stop it.

This attitude had encouraged Wei Hu’s aggressive courtship of Qin Yitian.

Back in Nanyang, Wei Hu had been incredibly attentive, but Qin Yitian wasn’t interested in him and had continuously refused his advances.

She hadn’t expected to run into Wei Hu here.

"Kid, daring to offend Miss Yitian—do you have a death wish?!" Wei Hu declared, his hand raised, ready to strike Lin Dong.

Qin Yitian quickly stopped him, shouting, "Wei Hu, hold your hand!"

She blocked Wei Hu and said to him, "He didn’t offend me. I was chasing him because I admire him."

"I wanted him to follow me and become my bodyguard."

Wei Hu’s expression turned iron blue upon hearing these words, and his dislike for Lin Dong instantly deepened.

He quickly replied, "Miss Yitian, what’s there to admire about this pretty boy?"

"If you need a bodyguard, you can call on me! I’d happily serve as your flower protector."

Qin Yitian frowned slightly; Wei Hu’s type was really not her preference.

Compared to Wei Hu, she preferred high-value looks—someone like Lin Dong.

Although Lin Dong had used disguise techniques and wasn’t as handsome as before, he still looked leagues better than Wei Hu.

On top of that, Lin Dong now exuded a brooding aura, which women often found irresistibly appealing.

Qin Yitian shook her head, gazed at Lin Dong, and asked him, "Kid, I’m asking you—are you interested in being my bodyguard?"

Lin Dong rolled his eyes, glanced at Wei Hu standing next to her, and felt that if he answered affirmatively, Wei Hu would probably kill him with his stare.

He shook his head and said, "Sorry, even though you’re beautiful, I’m not the kind to settle for one flower and abandon the entire field. Becoming your bodyguard just isn’t my style."

Qin Yitian was speechless. This kid was really pushing it—did he honestly think she wanted him as her bodyguard? It was just a ploy to save him.

If she hadn’t said that, he might already be dead from a single blow by Wei Hu.

"Hmph, ungrateful fool! Did you really think I wanted you as my bodyguard?" Qin Yitian turned around abruptly, no longer paying Lin Dong any attention.

Wei Hu, however, grinned maliciously at Lin Dong and said, "Smart move. If you’d dared to say yes, I would’ve crushed you."

He mimed a ’crushing an ant’ motion as a warning to Lin Dong.

Lin Dong shrugged and, with a mischievous smile, silently mouthed a profanity.

"What a damn fool!"
