Chapter 1768: Chapter 1767 Bai Jue Knows the News

"But before heading to Southborne, there’s one thing I must do," Lin Dong muttered to himself, a thought crossing his mind.

Soon after, his shadow darted toward the provincial capital of Jiangnan Province—Southern Capital.

He wanted to see Bai Jue one last time.

Since their parting after the Lunar New Year, Lin Dong hadn’t seen Bai Jue for four months. Now she would soon learn the news of his ’death.’

Lin Dong could hardly imagine how devastated she would be.

Of all the women in his life, the one he worried about most was Bai Jue; she was the kind to truly follow through on her pledge of dying alongside him.

Jiangnan Province, Southern Capital!

Nowadays, the Bai Family had already become the most powerful family in Southern Capital, and naturally, the most powerful family in Jiangnan Province, too.

On regular days, the Bai Family’s house was bustling with guests—not only from major clans and celebrities of Jiangnan Province, but also prominent figures from neighboring provinces who frequently visited to curry favor.

But today was different.

Today, the Bai Family residence felt undoubtedly desolate.

In the residence’s courtyard, the family head Bai Zhonglou was standing alongside his son, Bai Xiaolou.

Both of them clearly already knew the news of Lin Dong’s ’death.’ Not only were they Bai Jue’s relatives, but they were also members of Longmen.

Regarding Lin Dong’s death, both father and son were visibly grief-stricken.

"Father, should we tell my younger sister about this?" Bai Xiaolou sighed heavily before directing the question at Bai Zhonglou.

"Let’s keep it from her for now—she’s pregnant and can’t handle such a blow," Bai Zhonglou responded with a sigh.

Bai Xiaolou sighed as well, "But we can’t keep it from her forever. She’s bound to find out sooner or later."

"Let’s delay telling her for as long as we possibly can," Bai Zhonglou replied solemnly.

Inside Bai Jue’s courtyard, she stood near a patch of flowers by the small residence, her slightly rounded lower abdomen faintly visible.

The flowers were jasmine, planted during her farewell with Lin Dong.

Now, the jasmine bushes had begun to sprout small buds.

"The jasmine flowers probably need another two months to bloom," Bai Jue murmured as she gently ran her slender, fair fingers across the tiny jasmine bud, as if caressing Lin Dong’s skin.

She had made a solemn vow back then: when the jasmine flowers bloomed, she hoped to be reunited with her beloved.

At that very moment, a voice from outside broke the silence.

"Moyun, disciple of the Southborne sorcerer Maya, has come to visit the Bai Family—Southern Capital’s foremost family."

Upon hearing the voice, Bai Zhonglou and Bai Xiaolou’s expressions immediately changed.

Was it really happening? Now that their Dragon Lord had fallen, were the enemies coming for revenge?

This was their worst fear realized.

They could accept the loss of prestige, they could endure the abandonment of allies, but they could not stand by idly in the face of enemies seeking them out.

Over the past year, Lin Dong had made many enemies, and they were not restricted to any single region.

There were adversaries from Southborne, Yinghua Country, Paocai Nation, and even martial arts families from Dragon Country. If all of these enemies came looking for trouble with Bai Jue, neither Bai Zhonglou nor Bai Xiaolou could stand against them.

"Dragon Lord once killed Maya, the sorcerer from Southborne, and now this man named Moyun claims to be Maya’s disciple. Clearly, he’s here for revenge," Bai Xiaolou commented.

Bai Zhonglou nodded gravely and declared, "No one touches my daughter!"

With that, he and Bai Xiaolou approached the Bai Family’s main gate.

At the gate, hovering in mid-air some dozens of meters above them, was a man dressed in a red robe typical of Southborne sorcerers.

The hovering figure appeared to be roughly twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, standing only about one meter sixty tall, with coal-black skin, an exceptionally thin frame, and an eerie aura.

The man was none other than Moyun, disciple of Maya.

He was at the grandmaster level!

"Moyun, sorcerer from distant Southborne, for what reason have you journeyed to our Bai Family in Jiangnan?" Bai Zhonglou asked sharply, his gaze fixed on him.

As a fellow martial artist at the grandmaster level, Bai Zhonglou could discern that Moyun’s strength was formidable.

He had likely reached the peak grandmaster stage, and if he paired that with his Southborne sorcery, Bai Zhonglou thought containing him might prove difficult.

Moyun sneered coldly, "Bai Zhonglou, why I have come to your Bai Family—how could you not know?"

"Maya, sorcerer of Southborne, was my master. But he was killed by your Dragon Country’s Lin Dong—the so-called Master Lin."

"And your daughter, Bai Jue, happens to be Master Lin’s woman. Now, you tell me—why have I come here today?"

"You want revenge on my daughter?" Bai Zhonglou asked, his tone icy.

"Hahaha... Revenge? What an idea—of course not," Moyun laughed wildly, but did not make a move.

His behavior puzzled Bai Zhonglou. "If that’s not your purpose, then why are you standing here today in front of our Bai Family?"

Suddenly, Moyun condensed his inner Qi. The energy gathered at his chest, causing it to swell before he unleashed his Sound Wave Technique.

His voice reverberated, shaking the entire Bai Family residence.

"Master Lin is dead! Master Lin is dead! Hahaha... I, Moyun, have come today to inform Master Lin’s woman, Bai Jue, of his demise! Hahaha..." he announced boldly.

While Moyun dared not harm Bai Jue directly, his reasons were clear. First, his strength as a grandmaster might not be sufficient to defeat Bai Zhonglou.

Second, the King of Kunlun had issued a warning: harm must not extend to family. Anyone who dared to touch Lin Dong’s woman would face the wrath of King Kunlun, who promised to obliterate their clans entirely.

Third, even though Lin Dong had died, his orders and legacy persisted. Any harm inflicted upon his women could be met with death at the hands of his loyal followers.

Thus, Moyun refrained from making direct moves against Bai Jue.

But the act of conveying the news of Lin Dong’s demise to Bai Jue served as his form of petty vengeance.

Given her fiery temperament, who could say that Bai Jue wouldn’t hear the news and decide to die alongside Lin Dong?

Upon hearing Moyun’s announcement, the complexion of Bai Zhonglou and Bai Xiaolou immediately changed.

"Damn it! His goal was to reveal Dragon Lord’s death to my younger sister," Bai Xiaolou said with a pale face.

The Bai Family had intended to keep Bai Jue in the dark for as long as possible, but Moyun’s sudden appearance had disrupted their plans entirely.

What’s worse, Moyun had directly proclaimed the news of Lin Dong’s death publicly using his sound wave technique.

Bai Jue was bound to hear it!

Indeed, within her courtyard, Bai Jue, who had been admiring the jasmine flowers, was struck as if by thunder when she heard the news.

In a daze, she rushed toward the Bai Family’s main gate.

Very soon, she arrived beside Bai Zhonglou and Bai Xiaolou, and her gaze landed on Moyun, who floated in mid-air.

She stared at Moyun and shouted, "What did you say? What did you just say?"

"Hahaha! I said Lin Dong is dead. Bai Jue, your man Lin Dong is dead!"

"Are you planning to die alongside him? Hahaha..." Moyun taunted.

"Shut your mouth!" Bai Zhonglou roared, launching a forceful palm strike toward Moyun.

Moyun immediately employed sorcery, vanishing into the distance with a whoosh.

After delivering his message, he fled at once.

Bai Zhonglou intended to pursue him, but at that moment, Bai Jue stopped him.

"Father... Is it true? Is what he said true? Is Dongzi—has he truly... died?" Bai Jue’s voice trembled.

Bai Zhonglou’s body stiffened. He could not bring himself to announce the truth to his daughter.

"Stay right there, you bastard!" Bai Zhonglou shouted before leaping after Moyun.

At that moment, Bai Jue shifted her gaze to her older brother, Bai Xiaolou, and asked urgently:

"Brother, is it true?"

Bai Xiaolou’s eyes flickered guiltily. He didn’t know how to respond.

Seeing their reaction, Bai Jue, clever as she was, understood at once.

The truth was unbearable.

Dongzi—he had truly died!!!
