Chapter 509: Chapter 504 Huaxia Blazing Angel (Sixth Update)

Lin Zifeng, who was idly wandering around the company with nothing to do, suddenly saw Nangong Bing walking out of the office with tears streaming down her face, and he couldn’t help but frown, puzzled by the act she and her father were playing.

Seeing Nangong Bing’s tear-stained face, Lin Zifeng was just about to step forward to ask about the situation and offer some comfort when, out of nowhere, a large hand silently rested on his shoulder.

A surge of intense killing aura flashed through Lin Zifeng’s pitch-black pupils.

"Little Lin, don’t rush off just yet. There are some things I’d like to ask you," Nangong Shui suddenly appeared behind Lin Zifeng without making a sound.

"What’s the matter?" Lin Zifeng slowly turned around.

He saw Nangong Shui smiling brilliantly.

Pattting his shoulder, Nangong Shui said with a smile, "This isn’t a good place to talk. How about we find somewhere private to chat?"

"Uh, sure," Lin Zifeng was stunned for a moment, then he chuckled twice awkwardly.

"Heh heh, kid, it seems you’re living a more carefree life than anyone else right now," Nangong Shui said, patting his shoulder while wearing a similarly lewd smile, acting completely irreverent.

But Lin Zifeng felt a bone-chilling coldness enveloping him—

It was only until the two of them reached an outdoor balcony of the Tianyu Group that Nangong Shui took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, offered one to him, and then both started to smoke with gusto.

After a good while, Nangong Shui squinted and finally spoke leisurely, "Kid, do you want to hear a story?"

"Pfft!"

Lin Zifeng nearly choked to death on a mouthful of thick smoke.

Did the old man drag him here just to tell him a story? And he even made his daughter cry just to find an opportunity to tell a story?

"I believe you’ll really enjoy it," Nangong Shui squinted, exhaling a deep ring of smoke.

"Let’s hear it, and I’ll see if I’m interested," Lin Zifeng said with a smile.

Nangong Shui closed his eyes, took a moment to gather his thoughts, and gazing at the star-filled night sky, he asked thoughtfully, "Do you know the legend of the Huaxia Blazing Angel?"

"Blazing Angel!" Lin Zifeng nearly choked on the smoke again.

Staring with tense eyes, his voice filled with urgency, he asked, "Are you talking about the legendary Blazing Angel of Huaxia from five years ago?"

"Oh?! You know about it?" Nangong Shui’s gaze flashed with an odd light.

"That’s just a legend, there’s no such organization. I only know that besides the CIA, Huaxia has a Dragon Team, and there doesn’t seem to be any other national organization," Lin Zifeng answered.

Indeed, Lin Zifeng knew about the Blazing Angel Organization; he had heard about it from an old man in the Dark Prison before, but since the old man had described it so mystically, he had taken it as nothing more than a myth.

Now Nangong Shui was bringing up the same mysterious and enigmatic organization, which caught him somewhat by surprise.

"Hehe, you must have heard of the Greek Magic Bracelet," Nangong Shui said with a chuckle.

Just as Lin Zifeng let his guard down, Nangong Shui threw out another bombshell that nearly caused Lin Zifeng, who was smoking, to snuff out his cigarette.

Through deeply dark eyes flashed an unconcealed killing aura, but soon after, Lin Zifeng calmed himself down.

He glanced indifferently at Nangong Shui and said coldly, "You’re also aware of the secret of the Greek Magic Bracelet?"

"Not only am I aware," Nangong Shui’s aged face slowly revealed a faint smile, then he turned his head to glance at him and smiled, "You already know the secret of the Greek Magic Bracelet, don’t you?"

"No." Lin Zifeng replied expressionlessly and decisively.

"Hehe, then the story I’m about to tell you is somewhat related to the Greek Magic Bracelet," Nangong Shui laughed meaningfully, as if he was reminding him of something.

"This story took place on a rainy night five years ago when a secret organization of Huaxia, unknown to the public, and carrying out a national mission, ventured through immense obstacles to secretly enter the Greek Divine Altar. They fought to claim the legendary Greek Magic Bracelet that was said to have the power of Resurrection. Unfortunately, at that time, the Magic Bracelet, fabled to bring the dead back to life, had already caught the attention of countless forces around the world. Ten people were trapped in the Divine Altar, and after a life-and-death struggle, the Blazing Angels fighting for the mission desperately vied for the Magic Bracelet. As a result, five Blazing Angels perished on the spot, while the remaining five, with great difficulty, escaped ascension with the Greek Magic Bracelet. However, the heavens were unpredictable, and two of the Blazing Angels fell to their deaths from a cliff. The three remaining gambled their last breath to ensure that the one among them would deliver the Magic Bracelet to the organization. But under the cover of the other two Blazing Angels, the one carrying the Magic Bracelet met with misfortune and also perished, falling from the cliff en route."

At this point, Nangong Shui paused, sighed, and said with a wry smile, "Although the story might sound a bit pale and unrealistic, I am still willing to believe in it."

Almost in the midst of speaking, Nangong Shui deliberately turned his head to catch a glimpse of any change in Lin Zifeng’s facial expression.

Lin Zifeng’s pupils were bloodshot, his fists clenched white, yet he still maintained a calm front. Suddenly standing up, he said with a bitter and cold laugh, "Old man Nangong, I must say, your storytelling is really weak and lacks credibility."

"Hehe, haven’t I already told you? It’s just a story, whether it’s true or not, I don’t know, but I’ve always truly believed it. I wonder whether you believe the rumors about the Greek Magic Bracelet," Nangong Shui said with a casually irreverent grin.

Nangong Shui suddenly broke into a wide grin with an unserious demeanor.

Meanwhile, Lin Zifeng had already become expressionless, several unusual waves crossing his icy face as he said with a laugh, "Should I be calling you ’Father-in-law’ now, or should I still call you Nangong Shui?"

"I hope it’s the former title," Nangong Shui responded with a smile, cigarette in mouth.

"Heh, sorry, Father-in-law, it’s getting late. I should take Bingbing back first. We can talk more about this tomorrow; it’s getting dark already."

"Go ahead, I’ll sit here a while longer. Remember to take good care of my daughter. She’s in your hands now."

"..." Lin Zifeng suddenly faltered in his step, but without turning back, he disappeared into the darkness with an urgent, expressionless face.

Not long after Lin Zifeng left, about half a minute later, a slimy figure walked out from the darkness.

Emerging from the dark, the man with a sleazy appearance was grinning with a cigarette in his mouth, his belt hanging so low it nearly reached his crotch, which was perpetually stained with white liquid residue, the hallmark of a typical chronic masturbator.

The sleazy figure wobbled to Nangong Shui’s side, sat down, and his pitch-black, gem-like eyes sparkled extraordinarily in the dark.

"What’s up? Fancy a game?" the sleazy man laughed in a nasal voice that resembled a drake’s.

"It’s about time," replied Nangong Shui in a somber and resolute tone.

"You can actually leave your precious daughter behind, and what about the boys from the Holy War Angels and Yun Angels that were left to you?" the sleazy man laughed, as though, in his eyes, he could face death with a smile, a kind of heroic spirit not easily found in others.

"Well, there’s still you, my Dark Angel Lord," Nangong Shui jested with a rueful smile.

"Cut the crap! I’ve been watching over them for fifteen years! You aren’t planning to go off on your own and leave me behind, are you?" the sleazy man burst out angrily.
