Chapter 382: Chapter 384: Hiring Someone to Do the Wedding Chamber Activity
Chapter 384: Delegating the Nuptial Chamber Duties
Spectators gasped in shock as they witnessed Liu San flogging the young cop as if his life depended on it.
"A gentleman may take ten years to avenge an insult, but the villain never forgets."
It seemed that the saying was not untrue.
When the young cop was flogging Liu San earlier, he had looked quite pleased; but now, as Liu San triumphantly whipped him in return, the young cop was howling in pain, wishing he could call out for his parents.
As Liu San’s strikes grew increasingly ruthless,
Lin Zifeng knew that it was about time to intervene. If he allowed this to continue, they might end up with a fatality.
"Enough, stop," Lin Zifeng gestured, signaling Liu San to cease.
Liu San appeared reluctant to stop, but upon seeing Lin Zifeng’s command, the young cop was moved to tears of gratitude. However, before Liu San finally held back, he didn’t forget to viciously kick the young cop right in the testicles.
The young cop clenched his thighs and curled up into a fetal position, the pain made him wail even louder as he rolled about on the ground.
Even those watching found themselves wincing at the sound of his misery.
Zhang Xixi, who had been hiding behind Lin Zifeng, was also frightened by Liu San’s ferocity.
She blushed, unable to bear witness to the scene.
Lin Zifeng, in an attempt to comfort her, gently patted Zhang Xixi’s slender waist,
which only made her face turn even redder.
"Feeling good now?" Lin Zifeng asked Liu San with a smile.
Liu San, his face full of ruthlessness, nodded without uttering a word.
The reason he had deliberately aimed for the young cop’s testicles when he stopped was simply to ensure the cop was no longer able to fight back, in case Lin Zifeng ordered a counter-attack.
"Since you’re feeling good, isn’t it time we had a talk?"
"Boss, you say the word. Wherever I, Liu San, can be of use, you won’t see me blink even half an eye," Liu San replied, now quite humbled, calling Lin Zifeng ’boss’ with every breath.
He would have no reservations about showing his scarred and hideous face up close to Lin Zifeng to demonstrate his loyalty.
"What about her father?" Lin Zifeng asked softly, nodding toward Zhang Xixi.
"Zhang Runfa?" Liu San reacted immediately.
Lin Zifeng nodded.
Zhang Xixi came forward quickly, asking, "Where have you detained my father?"
"Got it! Got it!" Liu San hastily nodded in assent, barking an order to his underlings.
In no time at all, a few of his men ran out and brought Zhang Xixi’s aging father to them.
Seeing her father’s aged figure and his stooped, worn-out body,
tears streamed down Zhang Xixi’s face in an instant.
She left Lin Zifeng’s side, throwing herself into her father’s arms, and the father and daughter were immersed in a flood of tears.
The elderly father was also crying profusely; he thought he might never see his daughter again. He patted the soft back of Zhang Xixi, trying to convey that she shouldn’t be too distressed.
But Zhang Xixi couldn’t contain her emotional outburst, sobbing as her tears soaked through her father’s battered clothes.
At that moment,
Lin Zifeng’s heart felt as if it were being deeply struck by something.
He couldn’t help but experience a wrenching pain.
Watching the embrace between Zhang Xixi and her father, Lin Zifeng’s heart, which hadn’t been moved in many years, seemed to be touched in an instant.
A particularly uncomfortable and sour feeling spontaneously emerged from deep within Lin Zifeng’s chest.
During the lonely nights when he lay awake in bed by himself, his thoughts would inevitably wander to his parents.
Regrettably, after so many years, Lin Zifeng had little hope that they were still alive.
Five years, a whole five years!
Clenching his teeth, Zifeng’s resolute face gradually turned icy, his fists clenched tightly, his eyes squinting, yet he couldn’t stop the roaring in his heart: A grudge against Time for taking away five years of my life!
Sensing Zifeng’s abnormality, the underlings around him couldn’t help but shiver.
At that moment.
Zhang Xixi seemed to realize something was off with Zifeng.
"Big Brother Lin, are you okay?"
"Ah! I’m fine, I’m fine," Zifeng quickly recovered, waving his hand to show there was nothing wrong. In reality, his heart felt as if it were being gouged by a knife.
"My daughter, who is he?" Zhang Xixi’s father noticed Zifeng standing there, distinguished and extraordinary, realizing that his release must be greatly related to the young man before him, he hurriedly stepped forward to ask.
"He, he is..." Zhang Xixi glanced at Zifeng with her watery eyes, but found herself at a loss for words.
She certainly couldn’t tell her father that he was just a minor employee under her command.
Moreover, there was no relation between them at all, and for a moment, she really didn’t know how to answer her father’s question.
"Oh, uncle, Xixi and I are just ordinary friends. You can just call me Zifeng," Zifeng promptly stepped forward to relieve Zhang Xixi’s embarrassment.
"Friends?"
Zhang Xixi’s father was also stunned.
But now was definitely not the time for establishing familial ties.
The elder just nodded his head and didn’t say much more.
At that time, Liu San smilingly pulled out a cigarette and passed it over, first offering one to Zifeng, then extended the pack towards Zhang Xixi’s father.
The old man was so startled that he didn’t dare to accept it for a long time.
He couldn’t comprehend why Liu San, who was always so intimidating, would offer him a cigarette today?
And why the smile was so sneaky!
This was beyond the old man’s imagination.
Seeing Zifeng gladly accept the cigarette from Liu San, and before he could take out a lighter, Liu San hastily scurried over to provide a light.
Zifeng was very pleased with this effect.
On leaving, Zifeng deliberately paused beside two middle-aged detectives who had been standing quietly to the side, not daring to speak or step forward.
Giving a slight nod to the two detectives, he said, "Take him back for a check. If it’s late, I’m afraid he’ll need someone else to carry on his lineage in the future."
After speaking, Zifeng, leading Zhang Xixi and her father, quickly disappeared into the work shed.
Until they were gone.
The two middle-aged detectives breathed a sigh of relief, but the young detective was still clutching his lower body, struggling on the ground, unable to stand up.
With Zifeng gone.
Liu San’s ferocious true face began to emerge.
Stepping in front of the two middle-aged detectives, he spat out a mouthful of spit and sneered coldly, "You can go, but he’ll stay for now."
The middle-aged men were indifferent.
They knew very well that now was not the time to stand out.
They could only blame the young detective for being too naive, not seeing through the complexities of the Martial Arts World, which led to his current predicament.
Since Liu San had spoken, the middle-aged men just sighed softly, with no one stepping forward to speak up for the young detective, knowing they could not afford to offend Liu San. If they angered him and offended him,
their days ahead might not be as comfortable as they were now.
With no choice, they just shook their heads and turned away.
It was only after the young detective’s screams came to an abrupt halt that Liu San, satisfied, finally walked out.
The young detective may not have died, but in the future, someone else might need to step in for his bridal chamber duties...
