Chapter 311: Car Accident Scene
Under the dismissive gaze of the mother tyrannosaurus, the two junior officers still managed to hold back.
With no mood for jokes, Su Ni asked Lin Zifeng in all seriousness, "Speak up! Where did you run off to last night? Miss Nangong, your direct superior, was kidnapped, and where were you at the time? And when you were dining together, didn’t you notice anything when Miss Nangong was taken? Why were there signs of a struggle in the private room?..."
True to her tomboy nature, Su Ni fired a barrage of pointed questions at Lin Zifeng, leaving him speechless.
"Can I choose not to answer these questions?" Seeing Su Ni’s serious demeanor, Lin Zifeng thought to himself that if he dug his hole even a little deeper, he probably wouldn’t be left with a single hair on his head.
"You must cooperate with me! As a law-abiding citizen, you have the right to assist the police with their inquiries," said Su Ni.
"Officer Su, don’t think I’m uneducated. Your trick won’t work on me. Don’t assume I don’t know the law. As a lawful citizen, I have the right to remain silent and refuse to answer any questions. If there’s an issue, you can wait for my lawyer to respond."
No sooner had Lin Zifeng finished speaking than he started to regret it, terribly. Just a poor security guard holding a position as finance director and assistant, where would he get a lawyer? Even if he did have one, he certainly couldn’t afford such luxury.
"Lawyer?" Su Ni looked at him with utter disdain and chuckled sarcastically, "Ha, someone like you, with a lawyer?"
"You, just a small assistant and bodyguard, can afford a lawyer?" Su Ni laughed coldly, obviously looking down on him.
The two junior officers in the front seat couldn’t help but laugh as well.
"Come on, Officer Su, aren’t you underestimating me too much? Besides, how do you know I don’t have a lawyer? Don’t forget, last time I was mistakenly arrested, it was our boss who personally came to vouch for me. I’m someone who has backing, you know." He seemed quite addicted to boasting.
"Enough, stop wasting my time with this nonsense. I’m asking you, why do you smell of blood? What exactly did you do last night? You went to dine with Miss Nangong, and she got kidnapped; could you really not know anything about it? Finally, Miss Nangong returned home safely, are you aware of that?"
With a wave of her hand to the junior officer beside her, Su Ni grabbed a record book to take Lin Zifeng’s statement.
"Officer Su, are you asking me to answer these one by one, or do you want me to answer them all at once?" Lin Zifeng patted the junior officer beside him and smiled, "Buddy, give me a cigarette."
Reluctantly, the junior officer dug into his pocket and handed over a pack of Yuxi cigarettes to him.
"Wow, a constable leading a good life, huh? Smoking Yuxi now? Seems like your salaries are higher than I imagined?"
"I hope you can give me a once-and-for-all answer. I don’t want to see any deceptive actions."
Su Ni spoke coldly.
With a cigarette in his mouth, Lin Zifeng took a deep drag and smiled, "I’d rather not say."
"You!"
"Are you doing this on purpose? Fine! Since you won’t talk, let’s see how you fare once we get to the station," Su Ni said angrily. Clearly, she felt toyed with as Lin Zifeng showed no intention of answering her questions after a long interrogation.
"Hey, Officer Su, don’t get too worked up. How could I possibly give an instantaneous response to so many questions? Besides, my brain isn’t as clever as you think; it just can’t handle such twists," Lin Zifeng said with a cigarette in his smile.
"Hooligan!" Su Ni rolled her eyes and cursed angrily.
"Hooligan? Officer Su, you can’t just insult people like that, can you? What have I done to you, or done to you, to deserve being cursed like a grandson?"
"Get lost, I’m not in the mood to talk to you. Just so you know, don’t make me angry, or I’ll make you regret coming into this world," said Su Ni fiercely.
Watching the playful banter in the car, the junior officers privately sweated for Lin Zifeng. Of all people to irritate, he had to pick the mother tyrannosaurus. There was a guy who enraged her last time, and ended up in the hospital for months before he could barely stand, the rumor was his balls shattered.
Fortunately, Su Ni had only recently been reinstated to her position, so her temper was somewhat mitigated. If it had been in the past, one might have expected blood to splatter several meters. Of course, the protagonist wouldn’t know what he would have looked like afterwards.
However, they didn’t know that Lin Zifeng had faced this mother tyrannosaurus on numerous occasions. Each time they met, it was like igniting a barrel of gunpowder, both finding the other intolerable.
Over time, the relationship between the two had come to rest on a particularly strange edge. Of course, after Lin Zifeng had helped Su Ni out of a bind in the district that time, Su Ni’s opinion of him had unknowingly improved, but that didn’t mean she could tolerate him.
Her natural hotheadedness, and unclear if it was due to childhood abuse, completely twisted her temperament.
"Regret?" Just as Lin Zifeng was about to say something with a smile, the police car suddenly braked hard, throwing the people inside forward.
"Ah!"
Su Ni screamed, and her fiery body was flung into Lin Zifeng’s arms. Wanting to be kind, Lin Zifeng intended to just hold her to prevent her from being thrown by the gravity inside the vehicle, but in his clumsy haste, he accidentally grabbed Su Ni’s lush and voluptuous chest.
Lin Zifeng gestured briefly within the short span of time, surprised that he couldn’t enclose Su Ni’s "thing" in just one of his large hands. What was going on here?
In such close contact, the fragrance from within Su Ni’s embrace seemed to have a soul-attracting charm, assaulting Lin Zifeng’s nostrils. A fragrance more intoxicating than orchids washed over him, invigorating his entire body.
"What happened?"
Caught by Lin Zifeng like that, Su Ni seemed unaware of any inappropriateness, instinctively calling out to the outside.
Seeing this, Lin Zifeng was not the type to simply contemplate stupidly. He had already grabbed, touched, and pinched. It was time to let go.
"Officer Su, be careful, I hope you didn’t bump into anything. Here, let me help you up." His reaction was incredibly quick. Seeing Su Ni’s advantage taken, he hurriedly helped her up, appearing warm-hearted and helpful.
"I’m fine, I’m fine." Su Ni waved her hand dismissively, hastily opening the rear door of the police car. Her agile body hopped down in an instant. Lin Zifeng had doubts that her full front, jiggling prodigiously, might just fall off like that.
On this hot day, Su Ni’s police uniform also seemed particularly breezy...
"What happened?" Su Ni frowned and walked down from the car, only to discover that not far ahead, there had been a severe car accident. A heavy truck had completely crushed a family car beneath it. Dozens of people were working together to rescue the trapped victims, but without the firefighters on scene, there was no way to extract the unknown status of the casualties inside.
The sight was horrifying, with blood staining the interior and exterior of the car a sinister red. Sparks of fire had just been put out with the joint effort of many, as people were in disarray, busy trying to help but lacking any real solution.
"Su Ni? What are you doing here?"
If Lin Zifeng were to get out of the car now, he would probably be able to recognize this person immediately.
"Hong Wen, you’re here too?" Su Ni said, somewhat perplexed.
"I just happened to be passing by, and when I heard there was a major accident, I rushed over immediately," Hong Wen said with a smile.
If it weren’t for the fact that he had mistakenly caught Lin Zifeng, resulting in Nangong Bing calling on the deputy mayor to crush it, Hong Wen’s father probably wouldn’t have lost his job. If that were the case, he would still be the son of the head of the police station. But now, things had changed. Su Ni’s father had become the top leader of the station, and even if he had ideas about Su Ni, he had to tread cautiously.
"Su Ni, Su Ni, you really shouldn’t go over there. The scene is truly disgusting; I’m afraid you’ll feel uncomfortable after seeing it."
Seeing Su Ni preparing to head towards the scene, Hong Wen quickly intercepted her.
"What? As a people’s officer, do you think such a small scene could defeat me?" Su Ni said haughtily.
Bullshit! You big-breasted, brainless woman, if that little bastard hadn’t brought me down, I would have dealt with you long ago. Although your father is now a high-ranking official, once I rise to power in the future, I’ll squeeze him out of his position just as easily, and then you’ll have to obey my every word.
Hong Wen cursed inwardly.
But on the surface, he continued to dissuade her with a feigned smile, "Su Ni, please don’t go over there, I’m really worried you won’t be able to handle it. The state of the deceased is too grotesque..."
Meanwhile, Hong Wen, the great philanthropist, was keeping Su Ni from moving forward, but Lin Zifeng had somehow already come to their side, patting Su Ni on the shoulder and then throwing a look at a stunned Hong Wen.
He chuckled, "Bro, long time no see."
Without waiting for Hong Wen’s reaction, he headed straight for the accident site.
"Hey! How did you get out?"
Surprised by Lin Zifeng’s pat, Su Ni was caught off guard.
"Hey, hey! Stop right there!"
Su Ni’s vividly colored figure, hands on hips, truly warmed the eyes of the officers who had been busy for quite a while.
Upon reaching the accident site, Lin Zifeng discovered that a family car had been flattened by a heavy truck. It was unclear whether the people inside were dead or alive. After much effort, they had finally managed to rescue the people inside, only to find that they had long since ceased to breathe, showing no signs of life.
While Su Ni was angry at Lin Zifeng for his indiscipline, she nearly screamed when she saw the two corpses brought out from the accident site.
The scene was ghastly; both victims had multiple parts of their bodies penetrated by steel plates and iron pipes, their bodies drenched in blood and their heads crushed flat. The sight of exposed brain matter mixed with red blood was truly nauseating.
Even some of the distressed police officers began to vomit, unable to bear it. No one dared to approach. It was too horrifying.
The sight of human flesh mashed flat was distressingly difficult to face.
