Chapter 193: Are You Possessed?

The man in black had his waist broken, glaring with lifeless eyes, clearly unwilling to close them in death. Lin Zifeng’s brows furrowed and without a moment’s pause, he grabbed the hair of two bodyguards and smashed their heads together abruptly.

With a slap, gore flew and blood mist filled the air; the two muscular bodyguards were immediately left bleeding from the mouth and nose, their faces completely covered in blood.

Now that his identity had been exposed, Lin Zifeng couldn’t spare the lives of everyone present. If he let these people live to leave, it would bring deadly trouble upon himself.

It was a one-sided massacre. Each time Lin Zifeng’s hand moved, blood sprayed and screams ensued; his moves were piercingly precise, each one lethal.

If it had been Lin Zifeng from two years earlier, handling so many adversaries might have been challenging. However, after two years of refining in the Dark Prison, every day marked by killing or being killed, the old man had told him never to spare any empathy for enemies. "You don’t kill him, and he’ll kill you one day." This was the law of nature, "If you don’t die, I won’t be at ease..."

During those two years in the Dark Prison, Lin Zifeng had almost abandoned all complex fighting techniques; according to the old man’s teachings, any move that could kill was the best attack.

The best defense was speed; in the world of martial arts, only speed was unbreakable.

The scene was like the Shura Battlefield. In no time, Lin Zifeng had slaughtered over a dozen living souls, even the listless bodyguards lying on the ground gasping for air had their lives reaped by Death God.

Confronted with such a horrific scene, Nangong Bing turned deathly pale, her beautiful face drained of color, tightly closing her eyes to avoid the bloodshed and covering her ears as much as possible, fearing that hearing these people’s final screams might affect her future life.

After Lin Zifeng finished, he immediately left the scene with Nangong Bing in his arms, not stopping for a moment. The two had only walked a hundred meters away when,

a loud noise sounded from behind!

Boom!

A blaze soared into the sky like a demon’s gaping maw, swallowing the bodies of everyone at the scene...

When Nangong Bing opened her eyes again, the man in the bronze mask had disappeared, and she found herself in a field of waist-high grass, surrounded by utter darkness without a sliver of light, instilling fear in Nangong Bing’s heart. The deadly silence around her was unsettling.

"Did he just abandon me and leave?" Nangong Bing’s face slightly blank, she hugged herself, staring blankly at the night sky.

Being in this wild and desolate place where not even a ghost’s shadow was seen, Nangong Bing’s heart suddenly felt hairy, especially as she was a woman who was afraid of the dark and was extremely nervous.

But just when Nangong Bing didn’t know how to leave,

a familiar voice suddenly rang out not far away.

"Wife! Wife, where are you? Wife..."

"I’m here!"

Nangong Bing, as if she had found a lifeline, shouted excitedly, opening her lips wide in fear that Lin Zifeng hadn’t heard her.

Immersed in an inexplicable surge of exhilaration, Nangong Bing forgot her fear and hurriedly waved her hands toward the direction of the sound.

"Oh dear, wife, I’ve finally found you. If I hadn’t found you, I wouldn’t have wanted to live anymore."

Zifeng ran to Nangong Bing, gasping for air with a look of urgency on his face.

"How did you know I was here?" Nangong Bing asked, her eyebrows slightly furrowed in confusion.

"Wife, you were kidnapped! As your husband, how could I not know? When I returned to the hotel and saw that you weren’t in the room, I made countless phone calls with no one answering. I suspected something bad had happened to you, so I checked the hotel’s security footage and I nearly jumped out of my skin. You were indeed kidnapped. You have no idea how frantic I was; I almost turned the whole world upside down..." Lin Zifeng vividly painted the scene, leaving Nangong Bing startled.

Finally, he shook his head with a smile and said, "Guess what happened next?"

"Spit it out, I’m not in the mood for your guessing games," Nangong Bing snapped, her annoyance growing with Lin Zifeng’s exaggerated description.

It sounded utterly shocking, but heaven only knew if he had truly gone to find her.

"I ran into something bizarre on the road. A guy wearing a bronze mask said you had been taken to a remote place. At the moment, I wondered how he knew, but before I could figure it out, the guy mysteriously vanished! It scared me so much, I almost wet my pants. Do you think he could have been a ghost?"

As he spoke, he even touched his arm, glancing around with a fearful look on his face.

Having heard this from Lin Zifeng, Nangong Bing became even more certain that the person was the same bronze-masked man who had just saved her. She had been wondering how he knew where she was just after he had left. Now, after hearing this, Nangong Bing thought for a moment, her heart warmed by the realization that the bronze-masked man had been helping her from the shadows. Unfortunately, he had already left without even giving her a chance to thank him. If she could meet him again, Nangong Bing thought she might even consider marrying him.

"Hey! Hey! What are you thinking about? I risked being possessed by a ghost to save you. The least you can do is show some appreciation," he said.

"Show appreciation for your dead body, more like! As a bodyguard, you didn’t fulfill any of your duties. How dare you talk about appreciation?" she retorted.

"Hey, hey, hey! My wife, that’s not fair. We’re married, aren’t we? Who said I’m a bodyguard? I don’t like hearing that," he said, squinting his eyes and pointing at her with a smile.

"Who’s your wife? Watch your mouth! That was just an arrangement our parents made in a moment of impulse. As a modern 21st-century person, aren’t you too feudal?"

"Uh... I’ve always been this feudal; it’s just that you don’t acknowledge it," he replied.

"I think you’re the one who’s possessed!"

Nangong Bing pushed Lin Zifeng away and walked forward without looking back.

A sharp pain emanated from Lin Zifeng’s wound, exactly where Nangong Bing had unintentionally pushed him. The pain was so intense that he nearly cried.

But now that Nangong Bing was safe, Lin Zifeng, pale-faced, shook his head in self-mockery.

Recalling the recent nerve-racking incident, Nangong Bing now worried about the mysterious and enigmatic bronze-masked man, whose whereabouts were unknown.

Every time she faced danger, he appeared and resolved all difficulties. Now, she didn’t even know where he was.

If only her father’s arranged marriage had been with the bronze-masked man, but unfortunately, her father had made a choice that still pained her today.

Every time she saw Lin Zifeng’s sleazy, shameless demeanor, it only increased her headache, a stark contrast to the bronze-masked man she admired in her heart.
