Chapter 225: 225 Frustration of Lu Qingyi_1

Eventually, she escaped from that home and ended up in this remote corner with Boss Gu, opening a small hot pot shop.

Happy Hot Pot.

The name means they hope for happiness.

Although life is now peaceful, cozy and filled with happiness, there are still many regrets about the past.

"I know."

Said Lu Qingyi.

"Xu Boyan’s identity needs no embellishment, but the rumors will only grow louder."

Aunt Wen began to speak.

What she wanted to say was not about the rumors but something else.

Xu Boyan was not as simple as he appeared to be; Qingyi was too weak and could only be his Achilles’ heel.

Lu Qingyi didn’t say anything, with her head down, lost in thoughts.

"Kyoto is not as peaceful as you think."

Aunt Wen gently patted Lu Qingyi’s hand, explaining.

Kyoto appeared to be so peaceful, but was it really?

No, Kyoto wasn’t calm at all; she had a premonition that a storm was coming in Kyoto.

"I know."

Lu Qingyi nodded, she of course knew the current situation in Kyoto.

"Girl, the hot pot is ready."

Boss Gu carried a bowl from the back kitchen, placed it on the table and called out toward Lu Qingyi.

"Go and eat, come here after eating and I can teach you."

Aunt Wen waved to Lu Qingyi and said with a gentle smile on her lips.

A slight tremor seized Qingyi’s lips.

No, she was rejecting it inside, she really had no idea how to handle those balls of wool.

"Gu, look at her, she really looks like Qingyang, especially those eyes."

Aunt Wen looked at the Boss Gu standing nearby, with a glance she signaled to him and then sighed lightly.

"They do look alike."

He didn’t meet Aunt Wen’s friend very often, so his impression of her was not very deep, but he did remember her eyes.

They were exceptionally clear.

"Qingyi, why did you want to study medicine?"

Lu Qingyi had finished eating, she walked to the counter and sat next to Aunt Wen.

Aunt Wen’s hands kept knitting and she asked the question.

"Probably because of Xu Boyan."

Lu Qingyi answered with a slight smile, the decision to go to high school and college was unplanned for her.

She had initially thought that enduring till the end of the college entrance examination would be enough; she had no thoughts about college, especially since she had already graduated from one.

Xu Boyan hoped that she would go to medical school, and without thinking about anything else, she went. The choice to go to medical school was probably all because of Xu Boyan.

"In the future, you should focus on your family and stop immersing yourself in medical studies."

Aunt Wen put down her knitting needle, lightly patted Lu Qingyi on the shoulder and said it with a tone filled with sorrow.

By focusing more on the family, she wouldn’t keep thinking about immersing herself in medical studies and hence wouldn’t become overly obsessed with it.

"Aunt Wen, in fact, parthenogenesis has no scientific basis, perhaps it doesn’t really exist?"

Lu Qingyi bit her lip and said slowly when she looked at Aunt Wen.

She had once studied parthenogenesis for two years but had not any results yet.

Aunt Wen said nothing in response. She didn’t know how to reply.

Back then, her friend had always been researching parthenogenesis, and then one day, she suddenly found herself pregnant. When she came to Aunt Wen with a growing belly, she was about three months pregnant.

When asked if her research had been successful, she didn’t say anything. There was no joy or sadness on her face.

Then she disappeared, just like evaporating from the earth, without a trace for nearly six months.

When she saw her again, it was the last time they met. It seemed as though she wanted to say something, but there was no last breath, no life in her nostrils.

Next to her lay an infant, on the bedside table was a folder about parthenogenesis.

She stepped out of the ward momentarily and when she returned, the documents on the table had disappeared without a trace.

Whether it was real or not, she didn’t know.

"The weather is cooling down, you can learn to knit a scarf or a sweater for your boyfriend."

Aunt Wen abruptly bypassed the subject. She picked up the ball of wool and the knitting needle from the table and indicated to Lu Qingyi.

For some reason, Aunt Wen had the urge to teach Qingyi.

"Like this?"

Lu Qingyi made an attempt, but the wool simply unraveled. She sighed lightly.

Alright, she still hadn’t gotten the hang of it.

"Not very good with your hands?"

Aunt Wen chuckled. She didn’t know much about Lu Qingyi and naturally wouldn’t know about her background.

"Fair enough."

Lu Qingyi looked at the wool and the knitting needle with a sense of defeat in her heart.

She was usually quite good with her hands and tended to pick things up quickly. But she was truly at a loss when it came to knitting.

It took Lu Qingyi about twenty minutes just to learn how to cast on. Looking at the wonky bundle of yarn, her face expressed pure hopelessness.

Quite ugly.

"It’s okay, your boyfriend won’t mind."

Aunt Wen giggled a few times and then said slowly.

From the look of it, Xu Boyan really loved Lu Qingyi. Even if the end product was an ugly piece, Xu Boyan would most likely wear it without any complaints.

"It’s not about him minding it."

Lu Qingyi put down the ball of wool, took a deep breath and said.

It’s not that she feared Xu Boyan would reject it, but that she herself found it particularly unbearable.

"Mom."

Gu Yansi walked in with a bag and called out.

"Yansi, you’re back, are you hungry?"

Aunt Wen quickly put down her knitting and ran to Gu Yansi’s side. Her voice was gentle.

"Not hungry, I brought you something."

Gu Yansi handed the bag he was holding to Aunt Wen. His voice was a bit cold.

Aunt Wen opened the bag to find it filled with longan.

"I know you like them, saw them and just bought some."

Gu Yansi’s voice was cold, as if it was something random.

Aunt Wen loved eating longan.

Lu Qingyi watched the interaction between Yansi and Wen. She could see that Yansi cared especially about Aunt Wen.

Longan was a very common fruit, not expensive and sold in many places. If Yansi bought it for Aunt Wen, it showed that he was thoughtful, always thinking and caring for Aunt Wen.

"I’m so happy that you’re willing to come see me."

A tear trickled from the corner of Aunt Wen’s eye.

She knew Gu Yansi resented her for not letting him study medicine, but she was just too scared.

She couldn’t bear another blow.

Gu Yansi remained silent, lowering his head to look at Aunt Wen.

"Ah yes, this is Qingyi, Lu Qingyi, a medical student. You don’t know each other yet."

Aunt Wen abruptly turned her head, pointed at Lu Qingyi with her chin and introduced her to Gu Yansi.

"We’ve met."

Gu Yansi looked in Lu Qingyi’s direction, gave a light nod and spoke.

That day, Lu Qingyi had indeed helped him out.
