Chapter 197: Planting Seed
Ignoring Mirela’s seductive antics, Adyr redirected his focus to the seed in his hands. It was undoubtedly a powerful item, but with it came another problem.
Fortunately, Liora seemed to have anticipated the issue. She raised her hand, and a large satchel materialized in her palm.
"Here. Crystals with a total energy value of 2,000. That should keep you going for a while."
She likely assumed he had already used up the 6,000 crystals they’d previously given him—and she was right. Being a practitioner often meant being perpetually poor.
Adyr nodded in silent gratitude, accepting the crystals without further comment. Without delay, he sent both the seed and the satchel to his Twilight Land. The sooner he planted it and grew it into a fruit-bearing tree, the sooner he could start collecting his daily free stat points.
Especially for someone like him—who had all four attributes to develop—this treasure was a godsend. And considering it was only a Rank 1 treasure, he could only imagine what kind of benefits higher-rank ones, like Rank 2 or above, might offer.
What made it even more exciting was that Liora had found this treasure in a Legacy Domain belonging to a Rank 5 Adept. That meant Adyr had a real chance of finding something similar in the upcoming event he was about to join.
"Alright, if we’re done here, I need to go help Malrik," Lucen said calmly. He waited as the surrounding vines unraveled and dropped lifelessly to the ground, then leapt through the broken ceiling and vanished from the room.
The reason Malrik wasn’t present was that he was currently hunting Sparks, threatening nearby villages. With the Colossith threat now neutralized and no major injuries to tend to, the group could finally resume active participation in Spark hunts.
"I’ll join them," Mirela said, then turned to Adyr with a flirtatious smile. "If you ever feel lonely, come find me." A pair of iridescent butterfly wings shimmered into existence on her back, like an illusion made real, and she lifted off gracefully into the air.
She wears pink, Adyr noted silently as he watched her disappear into the distance.
With his mutated eyes, he could clearly see what lay beneath her skirt—or perhaps Mirela simply wanted him to see it. The latter felt far more likely.
Now, only Liora remained from the team. She glanced around at the destruction, then turned to Orven Draven, who had stood there the entire time, frozen in place, overwhelmed by everything that had unfolded.
"Sorry for the damage we caused," She said, her voice low with genuine remorse.
"Please, Lady Liora, think nothing of it," Orven replied, bowing respectfully. "It’s an honor for us to host someone like you."
In truth, the man wasn’t the least bit upset. With Adyr already staying at the mansion and Malrik occasionally dropping by, this marked the first time in the Draven Household’s long history that five practitioners had gathered under its roof in a single night—a moment destined to become part of the family’s legacy.
Even if the entire mansion had been reduced to rubble, Orven wouldn’t have batted an eye.
"Thank you, then. I’ll stop by later to help with the restoration," Liora said, her tone easy and light. She turned to Adyr once more. "You must be eager to plant that seed. If you have any questions, you know where to find me. For now, goodbye."
With her final words, a white cloud formed beneath her feet, lifting her through the hole in the ceiling and carrying her into the darkness of the night sky.
Adyr, eager to finally move on to what awaited him, cast a calm glance around the room. "Well, thankfully no one’s hurt. If anyone needs me, I’ll be in my room." His composed expression concealed the indifference simmering behind his calm eyes.
A few maids had fainted under the weight of the ordeal but were beginning to recover. Fortunately, there had been no serious injuries or loss of life—only damage to the estate’s property, leaving little cause for real concern.
Even if everyone in the estate had perished, Adyr wouldn’t have been troubled. Yet, as someone posing as an Astra Path practitioner, he maintained the appearance of concern, playing the part as expected.
In everyone’s eyes—especially Vesha’s—he had already done a perfect job maintaining the facade. Standing heroically before the Umbraen and defending her, no one attempted to make him stay any longer. After a few brief expressions of gratitude and well wishes, he finally returned to his room.
Not wasting any more time, he locked his door, settled cross-legged on his large bed, and entered Twilight Land with his energy body.
"Now, which place should I plant the seed?" Adyr pondered, surveying both lands.
Though both lands were dimensionally identical and shared similar seasonal cycles, their atmospheres differed slightly—one was somewhat brighter, though not fully illuminated, while the other was a bit darker, but far from pitch black.
The only real question was how large the Mother Tree would grow and how much space it would occupy. Adyr hadn’t specifically asked about this—honestly, it hadn’t crossed his mind at the time—but he didn’t expect it to be enormous. After all, if it were huge, Liora wouldn’t have given it to a Rank 2 practitioner, especially considering the size of his [Sanctuary].
After some reflection, he decided to plant the seed on the original island.
This island received more sunlight than the other one, which could benefit the tree. He wasn’t entirely sure, but there was no harm in choosing it.
Another reason was the island’s relative emptiness. Unlike the other island, dominated by the massive rocky cave he had crafted for Duskrend Spark, this place was sparse. Only a few roosters and a small, fiery habitat underground, designed for Emberdart Minnows, occupied the space, with minimal structures that left plenty of room.
Also, in one corner of the island stood a lone tree, its green leaves vibrant and full of life—the perfect companion for the new tree to keep company.
